FABUPUNK Mafia! Conclusion—Heresy!
Trekkie99 replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Man town was bloody sharp this game. The Trickster was a lot of fun! Yeah probably. Sorry Wyeth and Priella! Scum Board Password: fabuscum019 -
I'm rewatching Violet Evergarden after having just watched it for the first time a few days ago. Highly recommended. Be warned though that by episode seven and onwards (there's thirteen episodes) it's MAJOR feels.

Started rendering my models in Blender awhile back using Mecabrick's Blender add on, and I needed a HDRI. So I tested a few until I found one I liked (Urban Street 01), and then I was good to go. However there are so many HDRIs on HDRI Haven, I was curious if I was missing out on something better. So, I went on a donwload spree for HDRIs I thought might look good, and here are my results. Bricksafe HDRI Samples Album I don't have any lamps set up for these renders. Just the model and the HDRI. And while all of these would look great if they were tweaked with a bit, some look great right out of the box such as Ahornsteig and Misty Pines. I don't know if this is helpful in anyway to anyone, but I had itch, some time, and thought I'd share. Cheers.

If the dude can't give credit to the original builder then he probably doesn't have his priorities straight. Simple as that. The only other possibility I could think of is maybe he found your model but not the creator associated with it.

Very nice! Are the photos renders or are you just a Godly photographer? They're incredible.

[RANT] Stud.io
Trekkie99 replied to ExeSandbox's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I've been following this topic, and I wanted to ask a dumb question which is if not Stud.io or Mecabricks, what does everyone typically use? I see LDD tossed around but isn't that discontinued? -
Here's what the roof for the Country shop will look like.

The pub is awesome!

Thanks mate. No Unfortunately I don't see building any of these in real bricks any time soon, however I am now rendering all my photos, and the results are pretty good! There's also probably a ton of things I've yet to learn how to do that could further improve the results.

Working on this at the moment. I'm thinking on making it a really old two (Maybe three) story building whos first story was completely redone as a cosmetic store, with a cozy country store next door.

Is it time for LEGO to stop being colorblind?
Trekkie99 replied to BrickG's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yellow minifigs are supposed to be any, all, or no (the human race) race, so the questions is how can they do this better and/or better let everyone know this fact? -
That's awesome!

Probably just a business thing. Better safe than sorry. Yes Lego City is meant to be a perfect utopia unlike real life, but people might not know or care about that and will get a bad taste in their mouth when they walk down the toy aisle at walmart. The only problem I could see with is it sort of makes it seem like they're saying all cops are bad or even the idea of cops is bad, but honestly we shouldn't be the ones apologizing.

Thanks mate! I love building under the constraints of a small build and seeing how much detail I can fit in. I'm always so impressed by a lot of castle and medieval builds for that reason because there's usually so much detail in every little corner, and yet the whole model is massive! Wish I had that kind of patience. It can get pretty complicated. The hardest part is making sure it'll all stay together and not crumble to bits if you blow on it. I've gone waaaaaay overkill on internal structuring on larger models in the past, which if I were to build in real bricks, I would probably find I could remove a fair few pieces.

Enjoy. Further info and links in spoiler. Cheers!

We need this part in a 1x2 version. It's exactly what I'd need for a model I'm working on which I can't find a solution for to make it perfect.

Yeah this is very true. They also don't allow you to download photos (even though there's a thousand different ways to do it), and embedding shows everything instead of just the photo which can end up looking tacky for some. However you can post multiple photos in one post which you can scroll thru so that can be nice if you'll be embedding, but people might not notice the other photos are there so they'll miss them. You also can only upload from the app meaning you'll have to transfer your photos from your camera to your computer to your device that has the app. It seems Instagram trys to stay as a thing for people who are gonna take a photo with their phone and upload it straight to Instagram.
