General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Apache replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Someone just posted this pic here of POC minifigures. Don't know if they are custom, but some interesting figs. ++++ Update++++ Upon further review, these look like customs that someone is pawning off as real minifigs. Just looks like someone is mixing and matching. Can't wait for the new stuff....love the sound of the new sets...I'm hooked! -
My friend Called Lego to inquire about Opening a Store and becoming a Lego Retailer. TLG told him that in order to apply to sell LEGO directly from LEGO one must have been selling LEGO with a Website for at least 2 years. Only then would she tell him how much he would have to buy. She also said, TRU, Walmart, and Target come first and then the other small retailers.

Thanks everyone, glad you liked the review and pics. Love the muskets, need to make some extra cash to get more, 15 doesn't cut it!

WOW, I've been waiting for weeks to see this review. I'm not a Potter Fan, but the color scheme, details and the HAIR PIECES have had me drooling, and now with your GREAT review, I can see the figs, details close up. I'm definately buying this set, thank you for the great pics!!!!!

Well, I ordered some BF Muskets a few weeks back and while I was waiting for them I searched this board high and low for a review with pics so I could see what they would look like in soldiers' hands, and I couldn't find anything. I found a couple of threads about the new BF stuff, where the Muskets were mentioned but it lacked pics of the muskets in Minifigure Hands. So I had to wait and now that I've got some, I decided to help other people out who were in the same boat as me. So for anyone wanting to see pics of what these look like with figs before you decide to buy or not to buy, here you go. I was hoping to get my hands on the BA prototype Musket to compare all three, but somehow those Prototypes seem to be hard to get. BF offers two different colors of Muskets as of right now, Tan and Dark Tan. From the pictures on the BF site, the tan just didn't look right to me as a color representing a musket. The Dark Tan is a tad bit lighter than I would like as well. I would prefer a reddish brown or brown over the dark tan to simulate a walnut stock. However, I wanted to get some of these new beauties, so I ordered 15 in Dark Tan. As you can see in the pic of above, BF offers us a straight grip, period correct Buttstocked musket that has a nice straight barrel that will give your army accuracy over the Lego Blunderblussesqe rifle above. The length is the same, as well as the trigger gaurds and hammer. However, the BF musket has added the frizzen which is a distictive feature of Flintlock weapons. You can see the frizzen just to the left of the hammer. To me it's the perfect size. It's noticable so those who want to use the rifle as a flintlock have that option, yet it's small enough for one to use the rifle as a non flintlock for other periods. This is a plus for the new musket. Another plus is the butt stock. Many rifles, muskets of that period had the elevation where the grip meets the part where the cheek rests and BF got it right. The grip is a plus as well as the musket looks more realistic in the hands of the figs then the old Lego one. While the Lego Musket was easy to pose in different firing positions becaue of the grip, this one as you will see in my other pics, is just as easy to be fired by minifigs. The ramrod located below the barrel is a nice touch however I believe that is the reason the minifig doesn't grip as well in the area inbetween the bands. It is a tad loose unlike the grip and buttstock wich fits the minifig's hand snugly. Firing the weapon is as easy as it was before as you can see from this pic. I always like to get my figs firing as realistic as possible so this is my favorite firing posistion for the new Musket. The musket fits perfectly in the fig's hand in the foregrip between the 1st band and the trigger. And with the more accurate barrell, watch out Red Coats, this Blue Belly is playing for blood!! Last but not least, the design is very versatile. It reminds me of the rifles used during the civil war and the sharps used by the US Calvary during the Indians wars. So not only can you build up your Red Coat and Blue Coat armies, but your other troops will be happy as well. Overall this new BF Musket outstanding. I've always gone to BF for swords and blades and to BA for modern weapons, but BF has really created a fine musket/rifle for AFOL's. Ratings Color: 6 (The dark Tan is nice, but would of been better in brown) Fit: 9 (Fits perfectly except for that one area of the foregrip Verstaility: 10 Great for Pirates, western, perhaps the Napoleanic wars but I'm not expert Fireability:10 May be shot in a variety of positions unlike some weapons I highly reccomend buying some of these in Dark Tan unless you can wait for it in a darker color. I'd like to compare it to the BA musket, but for now I'll enjoy it as a huge upgrade over the ol Lego Blunderbuss. I'd like to hear from other people who have them allready and what you think.

If they did make new Armada figs, I'm hoping they would come with silver helmets instead of black. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

Flat: Meaning, non glossy, dull. Normal legs, torsos, and heads are made with the regualr ABS plastic that we have come to know and love. Recently, certain Battle packs, Tic Tac Toe Sets, Certain Magnets, and now Collectable Minifigs that are made/assembled in China have different colored plastic legs, hands and sometimes torsos. The plastic has a flat/dull sheen to it and upon closer examination, looks cheaper, more transparent and not the same high quality that LEGO is known for. I'm still buying as many spartans and surfers as I can get my grubby little hands on, whether it be Denmark or Chinese plastic. :) So I'm curious how many people have found them at Target? They weren't there last time and havn't found them yet for this series. If the production run is the same, then how is Target now getting them. And I believe the interveiw that was posted earlier in this thread discussed how teh production run of series 2 was the same as series 1. -

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
Apache replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Stopped by a Toys R Us to use my Rewards cash that came, only 3 figs left so I got them. They are limiting customers to 5 per day, so I guess thats why there were some left. To answer someone elses question about stock issues, the one TRU where I bought half a box of series 1 never got another shipment, and the other TRU I frequent never got any according to the manager. Hopefully we will be able to order some ONLINE soon from Lego.com -
You lucky Euorpean S.O.B.'s, I'm just hoping for 20 spartans when all this is said and done here in the US.

Yeah, this is common knowledge. Your right, the legs are the cheap flat plastic that is made in China, so are the hands. To me the Torsos look sturdier than the legs and hands..and the heads, accessories seem like regular ABS, and the spear, shield, cape and helmet of the Spartan are all top quality...definatley worth $2 if I could just find some more! -
This Set is now out in the USA at your local lego store. They are going fast.

You don't need to have Barcodes. When I got to my Lego Store late last night everything was scattered. An employee had told me that people had been there earlier with Barcodes and there were three parents hoarding a pile while they were comparing barcodes to get entire sets and non-multiples. I just went over to the box and started fondling the packages... Spartan is EASY. Long speark with soft point....can't miss it. Only thing close is Pharoah's snake staff, but that does't have a smooth texture and has a Snake head on the end. Mexican- BIG MEGABLOCKIN SOMBRERRO- Also you an feel the little marracas...although I thought I had 2 mexicans and 2 pop singers, but the Microphones I thought they were turned out to be Marraccas (4 Mexicans) Surfer - The surfboard is unmistakeable, but at first I was thinking it would be bigger, it's not..just a bit bigger than a skate board in length Witch- Broom stick end and pointy Hat, fondled several witches. Skier - Easy again, new skit element, can't mistake it Karate guy...little gold statue is a DEAD giveaway. Granted the Barcode Cheat is faster...but not necessary -

Wow. Beautiful. I was hoping for a flint lock for Pirate uses, but this is perfect for soldiers, and that brown really works over the metalic. Will be ordering lots of these when they show up on the site.
