I definitely agree with tom-cat, the box art never does justice to a set itself.
-
Absolute stunning, the details, inside and out, are breathtaking!
-
Once again a great update, I love the park and pay phone area next to the post office Keep up the brilliant work!
-
The height isn't too bad, in fact much better than I imagined. It looks so nice next to the Fire Brigade
-
We're all eagerly waiting...
-
By a new inventory I mean a new shipment of Fire Brigade sets that shall be arriving from the factory, ready for dispatching.
-
The Fire Brigade will be discontinued soon, but LEGO are receiving a new inventory of Fire Brigades; so there's a few months left for the Fire Brigade. Also, there have never been any more than 3 modular buildings together in the group picture.
-
The design, and in some aspects, the colour of this looks very similar to 10197 Fire Brigade, which I MUST get soon before it goes! This will look tremendous sandwiched between the Green Grocer and the Fire Brigade

Just uploaded a short clip of these images http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OCEW93RwuI&context=C3fc1765ADOEgsToPDskLZHM3oHGJcRefIOhs-l_PZ

Has anyone been able to see how tall it is (cm or inches)?
-
It's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Sorry to be a killjoy but there is an extremely small chance that LEGO will rerelease the old modulars, in partiuclar 10182. This is because LEGO have discontinued the mould for the dark red roof pieces, along with certain others. And new moulds are VERY expensive - I saw in a MegaFactories LEGO edition, some moulds cost $250,000... It would be great of course to have the old modulars back, but unlikely.

Very nice pub SalvoBrick, I love the colour combination of tan and brown, with that cool white awning Maybe a seaside "Fish n Chip" shop instead
-
Yes it's £149.99 so supposedly around $180 - 200
-
Thanks for your help guys, I'll try and get 10197 but if I can't I'll get the Maersk Train
-
Yes I think it would be 48 x 32, alot of Town Halls IRL are often that shape. Or perhaps it would be 32x32, but with ALOT of detail, especially in the interior? Can't wait for pictures. It's like last year's Pet Shop all over again
-
Fire Brigade or Maersk Train? There is still a chance to get 10197 on S@H once it's back in stock (risky, I know!), and it'll be a great set to have. If the Maersk Train is supposedly to be discontinued soon this year, should I get it, or the Fire Brigade? Thanks
-
Very nice details and awesome door mechanism - perhaps you could include a small line of another colour, blue for example, for extra detailing? Great job

Great review, a pretty good set; slightly overpriced however, compared to the other 2012 sets, at least. I have noticed that the 4432 Garbage Truck has more recycling stickers than this set!

What will you remember from 2011 with Lego?
HighFlyer replied to eliminator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I probably doubled the size of my collection in 2011, having not bought a great deal in 2009/2010. I bought £150 worth of city sets, including 3661 and 7641. My most memorable builds were, however, the Grand Emporium and MMV. I would have bought the Fire Brigade and possibly the Maersk train, but I spend £215 on an Ipod Touch. In 2012 I plan to get fewer City sets, and more "model" sets, such as the Volkswagen Camper Van and the Maersk Train. Also the Pet Shop, and the Town Hall modular when it comes out. If the Fire Brigade's still around (which I highly doubt), then I may as well get it. I'm also becoming more and more interested in MOCs and MODs, so a few BrickLink/PaB orders may be placed. -
All I know is: 2766 pieces £149.99 Release expected to be March 2012 Since this is £150, I'd expect it to be around $180 - $200. I know nothing about the design/features of the set. That remains to be rumours for the time being.

There will be 2766 pieces in the Town Hall set.

Great review of a fantastic set, I shall definitely be getting this, for £20 it's brilliant value. I LOVE the sports car - beautiful!!

I find it a little disappointing to see that the "Forest" Fire sets have 3 trees in total, and Police sets have only 4 trees in total. Hmn, some forest you have there... I think they just added in a few trees for an excuse to make a different, interesting new subtheme, rather than the plain old Fire and Police. On the other hand, I guess it leaves room for MOCs. I like the look of the mining sets, although I think I'd rather spend my money on other sets this year. The hospital is , wayyyy too small. A modular hospital would have been beyond perfection.

So many details to look at - just wonderful to see!
