Potters/art studio is a brilliant idea- stick in a kiln play feature/ light brick and I’m sold! (We’d find out where all of the crockery comes from in Lego town😂) Stick it on the wish list with post office, optometrist and ironmonger/drug store. Im doubtful we’d see a full blown hospital, but I can’t think of a reason why we can’t have a medical practice/doctors surgery on a 32 plate. Ice cream shop feels like a no-brainer also. -

I wonder if there is much thought put into the idea that even though this is an adult line, they won't do commercial buildings for business types that plain don't exist anymore? I think all of the commercial properties that they've released are business that could exist in a modern era, but just have a retro style to them. Detectives office being borderline! -

That would be fantastic, a Jetsons vibe would be fun. I'm happy to have more colour in the street also -

I like the idea of an office building, though I can't see what they'd add to the interior that we haven't already seen in the many business focussed offices, its usually just a phone and a computer/typewriter. Regards to the Video store, I read somewhere a while back that Jamie thinks that the street is set in modern times, but with older buildings/ some buildings repurposed with a mix of architecture styles. Though by this logic all the old banks should be wine bars and the video stores would be vape shops... Hardware/handyman store would be really fun, There's a space on the street for that style of building you tend to only see in the states, the kind of 'mom and pop corner 'drug store' which sells a bit of everything. A bit like this MOC from a while back.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/40618978@N03/27573702761/in/photostream/lightbox/ Thinking outside of the types of business, it might be good to see them show us some styles of architecture we've not seen. Do we have anything in the Nouveu style? -

Hah, indeed it is. At least Peas, Sweetcorn and hot dogs are being well promoted. The Crayon girl might need an art supplies shop? -

I often think about what businesses the town needs, and I base it partially on what amenities are suggested by existing Prints/accessory moulds/ costume CMF's etc. School- Covered by friends too often. Farmers Market - Similar to 2022 City lineup. Theatre - nope, see Friends. It’s a real shame we won’t see a newspaper business for a few years now, (and maybe never as the designer wouldn't have broken NDA in those interviews). From a completionist POV my line of thinking is that IF there is a widely circulated print or mould of something like food or an often used accessory e.g. pizza, newspaper, cupcake, or a posted letter THEN I want to know where it came from… It's satisfying to me when there is a costume minifig to go with an often used print. E.g The Popcorn guy now stands outside my Palace Cinema, the pizza suit guy can now stand outside the pizza place as a mascot etc. It's bugging me that we won't know where 'all' the newspapers are coming from, also where all the post goes, and I'd love a record store for the hundreds of unused but awesome Video tiles. The Doughnut shop was very satisfying in that regard- in my headcannon ALL doughnuts ever in all Lego sets now come from this one shop, same as ALL croissants come from the bakery in AS; All vehicles get serviced in the CG All musical instruments come from that one shop in AS all mini figs wash their clothes at soap and studs all mini figs get their coffee at Cafe corner hot dogs, burgers etc from the Diner all books come from the BS... which is why there are none left in the shop! And so on and so on… So what’s left: newspapers, music/records, sports gear, post, computers, Gems/Crystals, power tools... Anyone care to play this game with me? -

Phew! Thanks for clarification Roebuck. My yearly jan 1st plans are intact. I live in West London and walking distance to my Lego store so it's the usual mid-morning post over-eating walk! Can't wait to start playing with it. -

I like it a LOT more in the videos and official images. It’s absolutely not as interesting a building as some previous recent ones, but has lots of potential. I think I will be modding mine HEAVILY in this way as it is still a little… flat looking. I love getting 2 business’s, however I always feel it compromises both so the main excitement for me is modding them all. 1-I’ll probably try out black in the ground floor as my first choice (2nd choice dark green) as it’s quite Common for jazz clubs to have a black exterior. And add some more gold or perhaps try to make some more neon signage. 2-I will definitely be splitting the pizza place and bulking it up from 10 wide into a 16 wide on a separate plate, though I’m not sure how I’d bulk up the jazz club section to fill 32 yet… perhaps centring the main build on the plate and recessing 5 studs worth either side- might give it a bit more visual interest and make it less flat. One thing for sure- I don’t need another pizza place. Not sure what it could be though, anyone have thoughts on what style of Business would suit the yellow pizzeria? 3- I HAVE to have a full band with trumpet player, baby grand piano perhaps blue’s electric guitar player also. It’s criminal that there’s no piano player here! 4- looking forward to thanking some very enterprising nerd laboriously building this is Stud.io for everyone so we can play around with the colours etc… have they done it yet???? 5-would it be totally insane to use the jazz quartet as a kind of rooftop advertisement? -

Question: Noticing that this set is coming out on the 4th January, is a bit of a shame- my usual New Year’s Day plans scuppered there- has this happened before? I’m hoping if it’s just that some stores have inventory issues and they could have it in on the 1st after all… -

Nice to see that Lego have done a MOC of their own 10184 Town Plan Cinema! (I'm sure they will call it a tribute) Or maybe this is meant to be the old town plan cinema being refurbished for modern Times... IIRC it's actually the 15th year anniversary of 10184- so seems legit, there's also too many part recolours to be fake, but pretty disappointing so far, I've been less enthusiastic about a few recent modulars but ended up getting them after a while. This one... well I own 10184 and it was actually the set that got my out of my dark ages, I've since modded the cinema build myself so this would be a bit repetitive. town plan reminder -

Do the ‘Designer videos’ tend to release once the set is out? I feel like I remember the PS getting a short walkthrough video alongside its reveal but maybe I’m not remembering correctly. -

I was thinking just recently about who might be the design lead for this model, and part of the fun guessing thread might be considering the design aesthetics and sensibilities of the designers who might be involved…. With all the talk of a triangular shaped main building it made me think of Mike Psiaki who is apparently the go-to triangle guy at Lego. Though the CG was by Florian which also had obtuse angles my guess is Mike and possibly either Jamie or Astrid or Nick Vas had input in the gallery as they seem keen on interior details. I don’t remember if any play features have been leaked so that’s my best guess so far. Astrid and Jamie are unlikely but possible, Astrid did say in a recent interview “you never know” in regards to returning to Modular’s, but she seems a bit too busy on other lines for this to be sensible, same for Jamie, Nick vas has been making all sorts of amazing things for monkey king and CNY. - I know these are after very collaborative works, but the lead designer usually has their own signature, who do YOU all think is the likely culprit for lead on this? -

The Damp Knight advert has lots of buildings in it that are released and some playful mashup homages to older buildings. In the same way the Detectives office/Barbers was referenced in a previous rebuild the world ad. if one crawls through the damp knight ad, there is actually a tiny shot of a building which could fit the descriptions we’ve heard, just in a different colour. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
jonahtron replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, perhaps a stretch then. Artemis without her bow and arrow would be odd, unless somehow influenced by the DC comics character instead. just seems such an incongruous idea to have a moon warrior and it not be ‘THE’ moon warrior. sigh. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
jonahtron replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi all, been lurking on this thread a while but just thought that I’d pop in that when I heard the phrase moon warrior or moon knight, coupled with the fact it’s a female figure, as well as those illustrations by Alexandre Boudon defended above… I would say it seems fairly logical we are getting a depiction of Artemis, the Greek Goddess of the hunt. That’s the only “Moon Warrior” that would have any significance. (that’s the character drawn by Boudon in the link above) considering there have been a few Greco-Roman style figs in the past it also makes sense thst they are adding to this lose theme. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion

This series is now leaked: 12 figures. Green bags no boxes. Surfer with board and dolphin Boy playing a violin A castaway with a hermit crab(but looks like a stoner with a bong) ladybird girl with ladybird tile The dog suit guy we’ve seen graphics of in the past A centaur (some people will be happy) A beekeeper with a honey frame and smoker a tribal warrior with sword and shield Riot police.(erm... this will be controversial) An alien mechanic with crystal and wrench carnival girl with a fabric cape piece A girl wearing a vehicle costume- aeroplane judging by the shape and and the old fashioned goggles. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
jonahtron replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If this is all true, which does sound plausible- I’d expect that if someone has a primary source in this area that images would be leaking imminently. The only thing that seems unlikely is that the box wouldn’t be black. TLG clearly aren’t done with this marketing experiment yet. if we’re looking at an ITALIAN/ renaissance Style build I’d expect to see a bit of wear and tear on the building and maybe a bit more texture than we’ve had in the past which might be fun. Vehicle surely can’t be larger than a scooter, though I’d be happy with a mini figure scale Fiat or a mini where the doors can be ‘blown off’, it’s not likely an IP build would make it into this line. 2021 is a bit late but it’s KIND OF an anniversary of this City set. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some reference to it, maybe in the sticker sheet. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6376-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0} -

This is great insight. Is that the entire team now? Seems doubtful we'd get a leak surrounding WHO is working on the 2021 set. I also agree TLG will never ever make a modular from an Ideas set, they have in fact stated this is their rules regarding not producing things that the company already make. And although its nice to look at these very well put together modulars, anything that hits 10k supporters is basically an invitation to the clone brands to knock it off. Seeing as TLG keep putting out increasingly high value sets with confidence, I personally would love to see x2 modular buildings a year. (I'm gonna count 123 Sesame Street this time around as it's going to be very easy to scale up) -

Anyone else find it curious and a little frustrating that literally everything for January and beyond has now been leaked all except this building? im hoping for another entirely new architectural style. They seem to be giving the modular project to someone new each year. I can’t remember who is in the team for “expert” now but I’m hoping for something that was as surprising as the DD. I am in favour of an eclectic street with all sorts of styles on it. Would love to see them really go to town on curves and makes something Art Nouveau. The Garage was a bit disappointing as I felt the DD was a breath of fresh air design wise and the DD a step backwards. -

What do people think of the new haunted house? it looks about as easy to make modular as the old monster fighters mansion, the lift shaft looks like it’d be a fun build in particular.... -

Totally agree. Makes you wonder if LEGO would consider full on chrome pieces, or if this will just be made with white and the pearly silver colour. Maybe this will be out within 6 months if we're lucky... Modulars are my only expensive buy, so will have to wait a while to get the new BS for this to come as the gift.
