  1. Not impressed by the "action" sets. I know they're supposed to be for kids, but I generally feel like you can compromise between play and display. It's not even the bright coloured targets that look bad, the sets just look unfinished being honest.
  2. I like the Rey v Kylo set. I won't be picking it up as I already have both figures but it is great kids can get two main characters and a small section of an iconic scene. Here's hoping they'll release more sets like that in future.
  3. Alrighty, thanks. Will be waiting for the price to come down.
  4. Darn. Might wait for the price to come down. Not sure if these sets are expected to fly off shelves, given they're 20th anniversary ones etc. I hope we get some nice box art.
  5. Ok thanks. I'm expecting around a £100 price tag in the UK then. Not too bad. Would like to see its size though.
  6. I'm excited! I'm eyeing three sets from this line. I don't have a Slave 1 and I love how the model looks. Hoth Han is a nice inclusion with lots of other great figures. Can't wait to get it. The Snowspeeder I'm getting because I don't have one and because I can add the Lando to my Carbon Freeze MOD. Lastly, the Pod Racer is one I'll get when it goes down a but in price. I really like it, just not top of my priority list. Overall, very happy with this wave even if the prices are bad.
  7. Stunning!! Love the detail and the Rebels love <3
  8. That's a bit strong. Will be interested to see how well the sets sell mind you, given the sales stats for the Rebels sets.
  9. I got it last week too! Great figures. My first TLJ Stormie too. :)
  10. Excited for the Snowspeeder, especially as it has ESB Lando. I'll be adding that to my Carbon Freeze Chamber MOD. :)
  11. Likewise, sent a request :D
  12. Just built the Praetorian Guard Battle Pack. Good set. I know you buy it for the figures but the build's a bit small even for BP standards
  13. I'll be getting the Snowspeeder. Even though it's had hundreds of iterations, I've never owned one. :) Goes without saying but -yawn- at the pricing. Yes they're inexpensive, but poor price per piece.
  14. I love the TIE lol, think it's really cute. I'm getting another when it goes on sale. That Death Star print too :D
  15. Just built the Juniors TIE. Absolutely adorable, really like it. Great figures, gorgeous Death Star print. Not sure how much we can talk pricing but while I think £18 is good for a minifig compatible TIE, still not sure how 80 odd pieces equates to £18. Do the large pieces really cost that much more to make? I'd've thought they'd be easier as they're less intricate. Can someone explain why or point me in the right direction where I can find out please? I love the set though, might get another when it goes on sale.
  16. Happy with those sets! Probably won't be getting the Rey v Kylo set due to already having the figures but still a good, cheap way to get them. Also, time for the obligatory mention of the questionable price per piece ratios... OK moving on. Slave I is good, might pick that up. I liked the smaller Sandcrawler from this year, had a lot of fun building it and it looks great.
  17. Such a shame. You can probably quote me as saying it's the only one I'll get etc etc but seeing the reviews, I'll skip it until it gets cheaper. £25.99 for that just seems way over the top. The set needs to make its mind up as to whether it's going to be a playset or display piece. If it's going for display, cut the play features and make it £20. If you're going for play, cut the detail and make it £20. I'll be buying the 4+ TIE. I actually think that isn't a bad deal for £20.
  18. I have to say, the Death Star Escape set is no longer a day 1 buy for me. Looking at it from more angles in J2G's video, I agree with him that it doesn't even really resemble the Death Star in any way. Yes it has some cool features but the actual set just looks like some blobs on grey and black. I will get it eventually (for the stormtrooper helmet and Leia) but will wait for it to go on sale, maybe wait for it to be £20 or under.
  19. I can't remember where I read it, but I believe the Death Star Escape will be £26.99 (same as Yoda's Hut, Ahch-To etc)
  20. Mods please remove if it's against the topic of discussion but being a 2019 set discussion, looks like Ep 9 Lego sets will be released on October 4, 2019. It's a rumour but has a couple of reputable sources: http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2018/12/03/rumor-report-force-friday-2019/ & https://twitter.com/JordanMaison/status/1069611587122733056
  21. Might be the wrong thread (not sure if it's technically a 2018 set) but has anyone got Vader's Castle yet? Is it any good?
  22. I think the 4+ sets will be good for parents to introduce their kids to Star Wars, even at a later date.
  23. Am I the only one to think $20 is reasonable for the TIE? Given the large pieces especially, the wings being new moulds I understand? Not to mention that gorgeous Death Star print. I also think it'll be great for kids to get a full minifig compatible ship for $20, not $60-70. I'll be getting the TIE day one as I don't own a TIE at all and don't have interest in spending £60 for one. I wish Lego did more of these midi-scaled ships or midi-scaled minifig compatible ones like they did for the Slave I for Cloud City. Kids would eat those up, same with adults.
