Cannot wait to see the interior of the thing in more detail. Even if it's only minimal, it's something extra to appreciate and admire. I'm sure this will make stop motion peeps or photographers delighted!

Brexit, my friend - according to LEGO anyways. Anyway, not meaning to go political. Absurd prices. Wasn't looking to buy any of them anyway but you might as well pick up the troop transport which is sold at £39.99 too in some places, if you're not bothered about the minifigs.

Yeah I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I think because Disney have hit the reset button on the galaxy, as it were, TLG are taking the chance to release these OT ships in their ST trilogy forms and using those releases as the OT releases, if you get what I mean. Wouldn't mind betting those who missed the 2014 walker will purchase the TLJ version for example. I could be 100% wrong though lol.

I have the set and don't mind it too much, although it's far from perfect. It's not very elegant and the fin at the top should be much longer. I got it on sale too so I feel a little better. I do quite like as a display piece although I may dismantle it later. I won't be purchasing many, if any, of the TLJ sets (at least not this year) so I'll leave it assembled for now while I have the space.

Great thoughts there! I'd love to see those. I'm assembling the R1 crew and I'm just missing Bodhi and K2SO. I don't want to purchase Krennic's shuttle really so I'll have to wait for them to come out in a cheaper set or Bricklink/eBay them. They're expensive mind you!

I'll be more on topic this time lol. I just bought and built 75171 "The Battle on Scarif". Loved R1 - one of my favourite SW movies and this was a great set to build and look at. I'm now in the process of acquiring minifigs to fill up the space. Got Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe so far. Will likely Bricklink Bodhi and K2-SO as I'm not really interested in Krennic's Shuttle.

I might have missed this above, but does anyone think we'll get any more Rogue One sets now? That cargo shuttle looked pretty sweet in the movie. :)

Certainly in the UK, a lot of kids get money for Christmas so it makes sense to release sets in January as kids have money to spend.

I think @Sir von Lego revealed it? I might be wrong? For $30 I'm interesting to see how much of the hut we'll get, how big etc. Not sure if any more details can be provided about that. :)

I'm a big LEGO fan but I won't be purchasing it, mainly for space and preference. For me, if the price is £500 (it won't I know), I'd rather buy 25 £20 sets or 16 £30 sets etc etc. Get more vehicles, locations and tons of minifigs etc. Yes you wait ages and ages for these sets to arrive but I like the variety more than one big model. Just my opinion - sorry for going off-topic a bit. :)

Thanks for the advice! I very rarely build custom stuff (this was my first thing really other than when I modded the Carbon Freeze Chamber to make the octagon) so for me I was happy to make something that looks presentable. As I acquire more pieces I'm going to go for a more professional look as you said, going more detailed as well. I'm also paying much more attention when I buy Lego sets to the building techniques used to take into any custom projects. I'll look into Bricklink as well to buy some of the pieces I need for the specific custom build to again create that professional look. I was going to see if they did those large, brick-size door frame pieces but they haven't been released in dark-bluish grey as of yet so I'm keeping my eye out. Not sure how else to do the door frame in the mean time. Oh, and I'll also look into photography a bit better and take more care when presenting MOCs in future. Will make sure I post correctly here next time too! :) Really excited to have got started and I can't want to make more. Thanks again for the advice!
