I think you did good! If you really want to get good pictures of night-scenes, you need a good refolex camera on a stable tripod with the possibility of taking pictures with a prolonged exposure time without blurring the picture. I for myself don't have that kind of money (as those cameras tend to be a low prio investment) and I rely on manipulation in order to get night-like looking results. If you have a good photo-manipulation program I'd suggest you take a pic at normal conditions and change the histographic stats into having less gamma and reduced maximal output for the brightness of the picture. But anyway - I like your pictures the way they are. If you're not yet using a tripod, get yourself one and try it with one of them!

[pid][/pid]218B After they had buried Edwards, the three marines moved on. They were determined to do as much damage to the enemy as possible while heading back for the coast. The house was used as a gunpowder depot - probably commandeered by the enemy and owned by civilians. Lieutenant Harrison did not flinch for a second. They set the fuse and took cover under the overhang... total01 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr Lunte01 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr detail01 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr total02 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr

Thank you very much - that was what I aimed for

Very interesting project, I hope your computer can handling the rendering If you're going for accuracy, I'd suggest moving the gunports so that they are staggered. if a ship-of-the-line would use gundecks where all gunports would be placed in straight lines, the recoil of a broadside would rupture the ship's hull and possibly even the rips. I'd also think about a bit more curve in your stern gallery (a lession that I had to teach myself as well when building my first ship)

[pid][/pid]220B four Royal Marines was all that was left of the whole division. For days now they tried to get back to the shore, encountering nothing but devastated land. They were slowed down by young marine Edwards who suffered from a gunshot into the shoulder. But in this darkest hour of the night, when the group camped inside a ruin that had seen some recent fighting, they would soon be "released" of this burden. Comforting his soldier, Lieutenant Harrison told Edwards stories of his childhood in Plymouth while the young slowly faded into his last sleep. Because then your MOC would probably be placed in the Historic Themes forums As far as I know the basis for all that belongs in here is that it's supposed to have something to do with the era of seaworthy, fully rigged ships I really like the halberds, I might steal that design and give proper credit

He's back! Because - well... I'm back! Given by the title Ninja, I'd guess

I had already seen this while doing some scouting and I did hope that you would put it up here - beautiful little scene with loads of interesting details and much atmosphere

Congratulations Meleca! And if Jackjonespaw doesn't want his prize, I'd be able to offer an alternate address

Brickworld.. BRICKWORLD! Why do I have to live on the other site of this goddamn big puddle? I miss all the brilliant stuff. I'll just leave my dropped jaw here as a token of respect. And now I'm going to build me a boat big enough to visit that wonderful pub...

This is massive and by massive I mean a massively awesome MOC! My favourite parts are the collapsed cellar and the little swamp/puddle/lake corner. In feedback terms: I think this MOC is perfect as it is - if I had to say something I might suggest changing the brown to dark brown and replacing the tan for the highest structure (the one above the dark red one) with dark tan. But that is a personal question of taste and especially presentation - I always perceive MOCs that I see in reality completely different to the way I look at them at a picture.

Thanks, both of you! And I have not forgotten my promise, lightningtiger! I'll do that next, it will probably be a Landram No, unfortunately they canceled it after they had produced the pilot for the series. The studio is still deciding what to do with it, though. A leaked internal trailer of the pilot can be found on the internet very easily - but I'd rather not post copyright infringement material here

Oh yes, I remember those horrors.. they can be found on this clean and pop-up-free page now

eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs
Horry replied to Badsneaker's topic in LEGO Town
@Legodt While I can see your point from a rational-optimistic point of view I cannot support the idea in good conscience. It would simply be humiliating and paradox to go to a person that gets money from selling your ideas and dignify that method by offering him collaboration. Methods like this have the potential to seriously damage the open-minded and friendly atmosphere of the internet-AFOL community - who wants to produce MOCs or instructions for MOCs that will be sold by others who don't credit you and my even claim copyright on the creation? Don't get me wrong - I would have absolutely no problem with anyone coming forward and say: "I'd like to sell those instructions - you got the idea I got the talent and experience to sell them, let's make a deal!" - everyone benefits from this way of things - the creator, the seller and the recipients. But the way it is now the most important part of this chain is left out: the creator. And your suggestion would mean that the creator would have to deal with the conditions set by the seller at least. At the most, it means that you encourage those folks even more as they see that they don't get problems by the original creators. And there are already enough copy-past-instructors out there - you can read about them in the LEGO technic section of Eurobricks on an almost regular basis. -
@ Sebeus Don't be afraid! Most of the rules are just there to keep it transparent for the players. What they actually need to know is the movement and the strength of their MOCs - most of the rule-stuff is done by the host - have a look at the beta test - this is pretty much all what happens to the players in 1vs1 @ Admiral Croissant Thank you very much You might have noticed that your Vesta has been used as a template in the new example pictures in the rules? @Capt.JohnPaul Good to see you again! And thank you for the kind words. It did not continue because no-one hat sufficient time back then, I suppose. But rest assured, I am planning to see to it that every R&S session that is wanted can be carried out Speaking of it... who would like to participate in the first battle? The Weekend is getting nearer, a perfect opportunity to fill those dull weekend-days with the roar of cannons!

For me, a good and soft paint brush with a rather thick profile works well when cleaning up my sailing ship MOC (for some reason, that MOC keeps getting dustier than all my other MOCs). This is a brilliant design for a childhood MOC (even for an AFOL MOC it would be damn good) and I can see why you kept it together for so long. I'd think twice before I would dismantle it. It's very impressive that you paid so much attention to corporate design but had the creativity to make something like the asymmetrical front delivery bay for the main rover. Please, do something like this again with those bricks!

The Unofficial LEGO Collectors Guide RAFFLE
Horry replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
At first I thought it would be a tough call, but then it hit me like a lighting bold: the 6274 Caribbean Clipper! I always wanted that set as a child to have something to fight my Black Seas Barracuda! Even if the BSB is the cooler set, I long(ed) for the Clipper - And now excuse me, I have to go and shove my Ship MOC over the carpet -
I think I've fallen victim to an acute form of BSG-MOC-addiction, so please have mercy on me when I present you yet another two Battlestar Galactica MOCs Both are for the not-aired spin-off Blodd & Chrome The first one is a variant of the Colonial Viper MK5, the "Sperpent" - the serpent is a heavy bomber, slower and less maneuvrable (she features only two engines instead of the three engines on a Viper) - the Serpent comes with a better armour, two guided missiles and a compliment of dumb-bombs designed to detonate on impact - the Serpent's main purpose is to bombard enemy ground facilities The second one is the ancestor of the famous Raptor Multi Purpose Role vessel from the Galactica - the Raptor MK1 features the same colouring as designed for the art-work for Blood and Chrome. It is supposed to be a cruder, smaller and less sturdy version. This one also features a small "pallet jack" in order to get the Raptor to the launching pad. On both back-designs you may notice that I've started on creating a battlestar hangar - once complete, I will show it in full action. However, this may take a while... Comments and criticism appreciated, as always! Congratulations, Taz! I hope you had a fantastic day!

I'm afraid not The formula for converting your MOC into a sailing ship for the game needs the dimensions of a minifig-scale ship.

Well, the rules are finished and can be downloaded here! The page is more of a data-storage than an actual website so please ignore my horrible attempt on shaping the design! @ The BoyWonder and Purpleparadox If you got some of the TLG ships (like Black Seas Barracuda) you could take them and make their templates!
