Holy moly, that's a nice pile of MOC-cannons! What is their supposed calibre?
-
It says that hotlinking is forbidden - can you post an imbedded link instead?

Hehe, that's interesting. I actually don't like the TLG-string as it is too thin for making up most of the standing rigging in a ship. But I'll try an intermediate solution. Thanks to both of you!

Thank you for your comments. As I understand it, it wa part of an old box that my parents forgot there. I grew up in that house and those landlords are "extended family" And yes, I (still) am a big-time trekkie!

182B Hi folks! I actually built a first version of this that collapsed in my hands because of stability issues (of course not until I had finished the damn thing). There will be proper water added and I am waiting for a better camera to arrive. Until then, I'd like to present to you my newest little classic pirates MOC, the shipwreck hideout. Nobody knows how this ship got smacked on this rock in the middle of nowhere. But when captain Brigid O'Sullivan and her crew had lost their brig this was a perfect place to stay for some days until they made the run for the coast with their longboat. Some weeks later they came back and turned this wreck into a smuggler's hideout. It is far from most shipping lines and many pirates come here to store some hot goods until they can sell it without getting arrested immediatly. Comments and criticism are appreciated, as always! -There is a small custom made capstan for lifting stuff (brooms finally have a purpose for pirates!) -One cannon and a swivel gun is all weaponry the wreck can bear -An unfortunate officer of the Royal Army tried to arrest them on a recent run - they took him with them and hanged him -cooking has to be done on what's left of the weather deck - you don't want to burn down the rest of the ship! I would certainly agree with Sebeus and suggest that you take the Imperial Flagship. It has some wonderful pieces and a great design. By the way: As a non-native speaker I find it difficult to read your comments as they seem to be missing all sorts of punctuation and capitalization. Any chance that you could update the post, legomonk?

Today I got a strange and very heavy package. I opened it and it turned out to be from the landlords of the house that my family lived in when I was a kid. They are selling the house and hence were doing some cleaning in the cellar. And there they found something I made when I was 13 - a type 3a phaser rifle from Star Trek! I had completely forgotten about this one up to the point that I had decided to make one - well, now I got the bricks for it, anyway. The rifle is very stable as I made the core from a series of interlocking sections with a Lego-technic "backbone" in the middle. You can hold this ar the nozzle and it still holds. Weighs about 6 to seven kg, though The grip and the light-part on the top are missing but otherwise, it's in pretty good shape. I'll start breaking it down now in order to make a better one but I wanted to share this with you! I can't see any haters, just some constructive advice here. Anyway: I really like this ship. Wonderful work on the hull details and the ornaments and it has a much more fantasy-feel than the original BP that I did never really like. If I had to pick one, I'd pick yours!

Welcome to Eurobricks! This is a very nice and thoughtful work so far and I hope that your computer will be able to finish the whole project - it gets quite exhausted if LDD gets over a certain amount of bricks Are you planning to brickbuild this? Because this would be a HUGE project! As for suggestions: If you go for accuracy, you should position the gunports not above each other but in a chequered manner. If you have a look your great picture of the Victory (I admire you for having been there!) you will see that there it is the same. This was necessary in order for the ship's framing to withstand the tremendeous energy produced by the recoil of a broadside. The kinetic energy would rupture the planking and maybe even the frames if the cannons would be positioned in direct vertical lines. But anyway, this is a very good way to introduce you here at Eurobricks!

The link tells me: Die Grafik "http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/BrickWright/Batavia/8.jpg" kann nicht angezeigt werden, weil sie Fehler enthält. In English that means: "http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/BrickWright/Batavia/8.jpg" can not be displayed correctly as there are errors within the file. If you are using firefox or other heavily plug-in (=third party) dependent browsers this might be a possible cause of version conflicts. Try to update your plug-ins and add-ons, me hearties. As for the uploader: avoiding special letters such as ä,ü,ö,ß,?,/ and trying to use a very simple conversion program such as Irfan View will generally increase the chance of being visible to the whole crowd - not all users have the most recent codec installed - including me - a mistake I will correct soon

This is a very clear and elegant design, I like it! Reminds me of a one-person-Klingon-bird-of-prey!

From older German houses I know them as "Durchreiche". They where used to transport food and other stuff unobtrusivly from the kitchen to the dining room and back and to make whatever service stuff would become necessary invisible to guests and/or the houselords. It would be something akin to backstairs. Seems that they are called service hatch in English! Great house! my favourite part is the kitchen but you pay great attention to details, I like that!

additionally, many capstans would have the ability to house part of the rigging inside the hull. I can understand Sebeus' irritation, though - Lego scale often looks a bit odd when it comes to details on deck or below deck. Great capstan design, by the way!

Underwater Month Avatar Contest Winners
Horry replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Cogratulations to the winners, well deserved! I'd like to have an aquasharks-tag, if there's still one bobing around. -
Congratulations to you, Sir!

Thanks everyone for your kind words! (sorry, holidays and no internet - it took some time for my reply) I used whitewater colour and water for the goo bath. I agree with you Legostein - tiles on snot is not the most efficient way of depicting the different materials. I'll incorporate your suggestions in the next version!

Thank you all! If there is anything that you would like to see added or have any further questions feel free to ask - I would like to improve on those tutorials.

Hey folks, I am preparing a series of small MOCs and Vignettes in order to make a table full of BSG-MOCs that represent other things than your average Viper or Raptor - they've been built and there are brilliant MOCs out there that I would just reproduce in some way - so I'll try to focus on something new. This time it's the hybrid - hybrids are nonsense-talking mixtures of machine and synthetic human and are the "brain" of a basestar. This one is still a prototype - I will possibly re-build this. C&C are warmly welcome! BirdsEye von HMSCentaur auf Flickr Front 1 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr Total 1 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr Reference: Here

geez, they look great! Just imagine if they came in black - the SWAT/Special Forces/military MOCers around here would be quite happy, I guess.
-
Now that brings back memories of my old gameboy - I think I should still have it somewhere - It's still useful for plonking people to death! Your "graphics" are, however, much more advanced.

Thanks If I could take a guess I'd say you've played DSA - The Technic Figure seemed like the most unlikely and unrealistic figure to use as a villian - so I simply had to take it. Thanks! Yeah, I can see how this would look like Steampunk got less attention. I did not want to flood the thread with pictures so I left half of the Steampunk area out. The corridor is supposed to be the eyrie of the crazy professor. There's a picture of him in his flying-machine: Steam 1 von HMSCentaur auf Flickr I also made a small zeppelin for the group but it turned out to be a bit too huge for the scene. Some of you might have already played Pen & Paper RPGs. I've been playing for a little over 10 years now and it's time for me to do a MOC about it This is a combination of three different scenes, depicting the classic fantasy RPG, a Sci-Fi RPG and a steampunk RPG. The MOC actually looks a bit better in reality but I really need to improve on my photographing skills. Here it is, comments and criticism appreciated! I'm really impressed . SearchFunction is absolutly right on the point of broadside-relevant guns.

Oh, I was holding my breath there for a little while. This sub-car is adorable!
