  1. Momoa wanted the role for himself. He asked Gunn for the job as soon as he found out about Gunn's new position. It's a tad different to reused. I don't get this whole "it needs to be a full reboot", it's a sentiment that only seems to be emanating from fans of Snyder or his Trinity. The Robbie Quinn crossed from the gloomy Suicide Squad into the vibrant The Suicide Squad seamlessly. In the first one she was a sexy piece with a big hammer. In the second she was a dangerous, unpredictable badass ready to do the right thing. Peacemaker was forgettable? Just say you never watched it and no one will judge you. I don't get this ridiculous notion that a project has to have a high profile cast in order to succeed or even be great. Superman was one of Christopher Reeve's first screen appearances. A-listers were considered but Richard Donner insisted on an unknown. All actors have to have a debut in order to become a star, and judging an unknown based on a trailer can only come from a place of bad faith. With regards to Messrs Tudyk and Fillion; does their supposed C-list status mean that they can't do a good job? It's such obscure tribalism given that Snyder's vision was awful. Set ppp now to be measured in Hooptys.
  2. Seems folks are confusing direction with a bunch of films that lead to a culmination. We're one project in and the current aim is world building - that is a direction. It's not going to matter whether anything is canon to the previous films when it's essentially a reboot. And I'm so pleased that Pattinson's Batman isn't part of this when it was never intended to be, which means it won't be forced. On top of that the script hasn't been finished, so rather than getting a rushed mistake that is forced to tie in to the new world it can be it's own story. Wait until things come out, watch them, enjoy a bit of world building and be pleased that DC is being led by someone who actually enjoys and understands the source of these adaptations.
  3. As I said before, I saw the image on an Instagram reel that didn't have the name attached. The person who shared it isn't normally in the business of posting crap. Not knowing who TheBrickMisinformer is means that the name is irrelevant to me. They might be a page that gives masonry advice. They could be a page that gets you to guess whether the image shared is a picture of a brick wall or brick wallpaper. I only said that to emphasize my point, I'm sorry I didn't really mean it. Consider the good people of *throws dart at map of New Jersey* Hackensack able to sleep well tonight. Now excuse me I just need to get to the airport.
  4. I know what the word means, but a username doesn't always dictate the identity of the person behind the screen. For example it may come as a shock but I am neither the fictional antihero Red Hood, nor am I an actual pug.
  5. Do you reckon you could have been a teensy bit more condescending when constructing your reply? Your sense of superiority didn't quite come through enough. Thank you. I've only seen it in a reel and don't know the significance of that username.
  6. Anyone else seen the rather blurry Arkham image? It looks promising if it's legit.
  7. I'm intrigued by the Earth-3 Parliament of Owls, made up of seemingly rotten tycoons and socialites who for generations have been altruistically benefitting the city whilst maintaining the Owlets, an undead army of street angels.
  8. In the alternate universe where Lego have made Discworld sets I am very difficult to live with when I miss out on an expensive one and it finds an aftermarket value in league with the first Batman wave.
  9. This works for his old job as well, seeing as his wrestling diary changes depending on how well his film career is going at that moment.
  10. Luigi has the resources. I feel it's fitting that a character who has ties to Mockingbird should have their face obscured. No one knows what he looks like. Not even his mother.
  11. As far as I've read the flexible plant elements are still made of plant byproduct. The plan to replace ABS with recycled plastic bottles ended after it proved just as if not more pollutive. It would appear that they are working on E-methanol as a replacement, but in the meantime lookout for partnerships with Heinz and Baxter's. If they succeed with gazpacho then it can only lead to the long hoped for Red Dwarf theme.
  12. TLG: sadly we've had to bring an end to experimenting with greener materials in a bid to stop using ABS. *Sees the Eurobricks forum making the word soup trend* TLG: we've begun a revolutionary process of converting soup into a sustainable building material.
  13. The crew of the Dutchman notoriously known as the Sea Monkees, singing the last thing you'll hear, Tapioca Tundra.
  14. I mean I've thought about marrying Natalie Portman but my wife says I can't.
  15. Batman is Blacktron. Signal is the Dummy. Bumblebee is the uniting force. Dumbletronman will prevail.
  16. Santa Crash giving off This is Fine vibes.
  17. It sounds like TLG have story gaming dice, one with six Bat-builds, one with age ranges, and the other with the stipulations. We'll make a *rolls* Batcave, and it will be *rolls* Schumacher based and *rolls* 7+. Will they buy it? Who cares, the dice have been rolled.
  18. A teaser trailer also should tell at least something about the story. AND IT DOESN'T. The snippets are too short to make any conclusions. And that's terrible The clue is in the word teaser. It teases what is to come without giving much away. It showed some things that we knew were coming and some things we didn't, and those things looked pretty in the process. I don't want to know the plot before going to see a new film, I want to experience it all first hand. It's why I'm struggling with Creature Commandos being released the way it has and managing spoiler evasion. It's Superman so the story is going to have a good Vs evil element, action, probably a romantic element and some appearances from other DC characters. It's James Gunn so it's going to have action, humour, horror and heart, and it's going to look beautiful as well as be given a clever and appropriate soundtrack. You don't need to make any conclusions at this stage unless you micromanage your life to the nth degree. You appear to be looking for the synopsis not the teaser trailer.
  19. Hey, they used magenta AND teal for that set! I don't see what else could they have done.
  20. Have you considered that it might be Superman inspiration? DC starts laying down what appears to be a royal flush while Lego is holding out for Mrs Bun the Baker's Wife.
  21. Because people like me would get lost somewhere in the depths of the forum. And anyway DC and Lego have been mentioned in the same comment on this very page.
  22. Wait, should we be publicly declaring the reasons for not liking a song? I've got one hell of a spreadsheet to draw up, I'm well behind. For the record I used to like Baby It's Cold Outside, but I don't think there's ever going to be a time when I will like WAP. And I feel both are controversial. Right, just another 42 years worth of songs to quantify, which based on the average UK male lifespan and capacity for music is some 718,000. And Sisyphus reckoned that he had it hard.
  23. I'm not referring to the shadow box aspect, likewise the skyline. Nor do I believe that either future set has a cinematic tie in. However you feel about the build of the shadow box, the figures were mediocre in character choice and execution. Likewise the skyline. To me as builds the cave is missing a trick or two and the skyline is amazing. The Batman cave may not have been comic based, but it had all of the signature features of a Batcave. As for the upcoming one being the first in a long time, the mech is the first Superman set in a very long time and if it wasn't for Luthor it would be something of a letdown. There's a certain irony to be had that three of the best DC minifigures in recent years have been SuperLex, Val-Zod and the most recent Lex. None of them came in a traditional playset With regards to attracting kids to the theme; 4+ sets would like a word.
  24. Don't hurt yourself reaching too far for that positive spin. Unless there's been a massive turnaround, one only has to look at the most recent big money DC sets and some terrible figures for the purchase price in order to get an idea of what to expect from the future sets. Look at the timespan for momentous sets, and it's hard to show anything other than indifference to the theme right now. New characters? I'm leaving my expectations on the floor and anticipating one new character who comes in a prison jumpsuit so we don't get the benefit of a villain costume. This way I can get excited when it exceeds my low expectations.
  25. It's difficult to come up with anything that will work other than being incredibly strict on this one. The whole thing came about because of how dire the theme became, and now our last flicker of Kryptonian hope has blown out. I appreciate the difficulty in balancing long-term users who have fully lost the plot with trying to encourage regular, non-nuts users and newbies. If they play the SDCC card again I'll be greatly disenfranchised.
