Eurobricks: Strategic change!
Sabrien Reed replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
This is an outrage! I only just discovered this site and now it is ruined. -
Are you absolutely sure about this? Paying for shipping costs too? That's extremely generous. What about encouraging people to donate to a charity of your choice based on their appreciation of what they receive and what they can afford? I'm interested in Indiana Jones the most. I will pay my own shipping costs to the U.K. if you select me as a lucky recipient. p.s. If this is an April Fools Joke, it's a bit early!

REVIEW: 8804 LEGO Minifigures Series 4
Sabrien Reed replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I got the exact same distribution in my box in Cambridge, UK. -
8804 LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Cheat Sheet
Sabrien Reed replied to AchillesPDX's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I thought I had loads of ice skaters in my box, based on feeling, but the bump codes suggested I had some werewolfs. I opened one of the suspect packs and it was a werewolf, and I have since confirmed the other codes are right too. This was for a box bought in U.K. Thanks for sharing this. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Sabrien Reed replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is the guy a friend? If not, I think a fair amount to ask is 3x the normal price, but it is up to the guy to decide whether it is worth it. -
I admit that the ambulance will not be very inconspicuous, and it does indeed look quite sci-fi. The plates sticking out the side are there to mow down pedestrians "by accident". They get put straight in the back and end up in hospital safe and sound ... after a detour to The Tower, of course

Very very nice. Hopefully this is the start of a series, where the poor guy gets scared in different ways by the monster ;-)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

If I had a spare one, I wouldn't be selling it yet either. He's easy to find in a bag, providing you get your hands on a full box, due to his squishy hair. But there are only two per box, it seems. I was lucky when I bought my box that there was one bag hiding under it with the scientist inside. I think someone might have hid it there to buy later. I now have 3 scientists from 61 bags - 1 is opened and the other two are staying sealed for now. -
Hello! Flickr is handy for storing your photos though!

The new version of the tower, now with living room to complement the dying room ;-) Once the sun has gone down, The Count emerges from under the floor, to get ready for his favourite TV show, Dexter. Count Dextula loves to watch his favourite show on his HDTV with surround sound. After the show, he celebrates another terrific episode with a drink atop his tower, with his assistant waiting down below with his fake ambulance. The victim is taken to hospital, or the morgue, dependent on how much of a threat he was to society, and how thirsty Count Dextula was. More photos are on Flickr.

LDD MOC: Even BIGGER 5 star intercity coach + gimmicks
Sabrien Reed replied to Out of Sight's topic in LEGO Town
Brilliant MOC. This is going to have to stay on the outskirts of your town though, and just be used for long distance travel, or there will be a lot of pedestrian deaths (and probably building demolitions) for Count Dextula to drink from ;-) -
Very nice. I might borrow this idea for completing my supermarket MOC.

Sorry, I had a non-Lego day yesterday to appease my wife, but ended up just sorting loads and loads of paperwork all over our lounge, which annoyed her more than Lego! The new photos will be up tonight. Thanks for your interest!

Do you have to pay import charges on that to the UK or is it exempt because from France? -
I love it! You've reminded me to use LDD again too. (I want to build a scale model of my home, but am waiting for the bricks to arrive, so I could use LDD in the mean time) How well do you think the bus will go round corners? The new 6-wide City vehicles like the Caravan and Prisoner Transport don't turn too easily and they are probably one third of the length of this.

When you see his ambulance, and his lounge in the new version, you'll see that this is definitely modern day. He just built the tower in the classic style for nostalgia reasons.

I found Series 4 in Cherry Hinton Tesco (Cambridge) tonight and bought a whole box (looked untouched), as I didn't have time to feel them up! They were on an Off Shelf Display like a previous poster said, not even in the same aisle as the other Lego. I plan to open one set and keep one set sealed. I expect I will be selling the spares when I know which ones are spare.

Imagine, if you will, Count Dextula, a very ethical vampire, who only preys on morally corrupt people to get his blood fix. He came up with this idea after discovering the TV show, Dexter, which he watches religiously every week, and highly recommends to all his friends. Anyway, what kind of place would Count Dextula live and feed in? Here's my attempt to answer that question via the medium of Lego. Count Dextula brings his prey to this tower, either by flight or in his special fake ambulance (not shown here), and then drinks the blood on the rooftop. As you can see, he enjoys letting the spare blood splatter, in homage to Dexter Morgan. The photos shown above are actually from an old version of the tower, from before he renovated it and added an extra level. I hope to be able to bring pictures of that to you tomorrow. Enjoy!

I found the Harry Potter game for £12.48 in Tesco and Minotaurus for £4.75. The amount of parts you are getting for the money makes this a good bargain, so I got 2 of the HP and 3 of the Minotaurus. The large tile plates (not shown on the HP box) will make great parking spaces for outside of my MOC supermarket, and the lime green tiles from Minotaurus will go well on the shopping aisles. I just got a couple of Apple Tree House from Amazon for £27.99 to build a scale model of our house as well. It's a decent price-per-brick, I think, but not so good as the games mentioned above.
-
I ordered it yesterday with some birthday money. Not sure if I will open it straight-away though because I have some other projects on the go.
-
Still no Series 4 minifigures at Bar Hill Tescos, but I did just pick up the Harry Potter game for £12.48 and Minotaurus for £4.75. The latter is so worth it for the parts (it includes a 32x32 green base plate), so I got three copies of that and two copies of Harry Potter (one to play with, one for the parts). Maybe they have them on sale at your Tescos? It's worth a look at these prices!

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26

Thanks for sharing this project with us. I will watch this thread with great interest! -
Very nice. Makes me want to watch the series again.

Thanks for the welcome! I played the LOTR Online Trading Card Game, under the name GondorianDotCom (the website still works), but have not played LOTRO. If someone is using that name, they've most likely stolen it from me, because I made that name up about five years ago for my Exalted RPG character. (I am not ruling out the possibility that two different people independently came up with the same name, but it's surely quite unlikely.)

Excellent! A work of art, and it looks very play-with-able.
