  1. for all interested users.... i've finished the instructions of the Death Star 1 now i'm working on the Death Star 2, and after it i'll make the instructions of the diorama versions
  2. here there are the modifications by your suggestions: i've changed the color of the jumper tiles and grilles, and modified the trench details... i think now the trench is less visible (as color impact, and maybe only in the render) but looks more detailed... anyway i mantained the plates with rails.... Death_Star by Rusty B. Death_Star by Rusty B. i like a lot those modifications... so, thank you! and for your "taste", the design looks better now?
  3. ofcourse your suggestion is your opinion... but i think opinions can help imagination, so, i will try to do the things suggested and later i value if i like them or not :) i think the trench is a must... the original Death Star is made by 2 hemisphere with a trench in the middle.... as i said, i not usually work in this scale... but i dont want renounce about details
  4. i used the plates with rails as "obligatory choice" to have a trench of 1 stud high... because i not found another way to have a 1 stud trenc in the middle of a 4 stud high plate... if you got a suggestion to not use all those plates with rails, thanks... for the "middle band" you are right, some studs would give a more believable shape to the trench... maybe some "non continous" studs... for the dish... a 5 wide not exist, for this i preferred to use the 6 wide... for me a dish little more big is better on the overall shape than the 4 wide... and lets to make a complete turbolaser rays system... i can try to replace the ark bluish grey grilles and tiles with stud to obtain a more natural shape for the scale of this Death Star... i'll work on those changes by your suggestions, and than i'll post the result... anyway, thanks a lot for your opinion and suggestion! rarely i work on that scale, so i appreciate a lot the suggestion of other designers to improve my model and my ability above all...
  5. "love to see the plan of this" i not understand what you mean... thanks a lot or your appreciation! and yes, all the minifig are connected by a floor stud and in that position stay inside perfectly with he DS panels closed... only in DS1 the Emperor throne need to be rotated to let the panels to be closed... for the instructions, i send to you a PM... and i will check Rebrickable to understand how it works... sadly i had a lot of problem in my real life, so my own website is already under construction,,,
  6. if i understand right... you are looking for a little millennium falcon? more little than the original minifigure scale?
  7. sorry, my mistake! anyway the other user is in right... is simple the "Bar Holder with Handle" 23443
  8. if i understood what you mean... it is a lightaber hilt
  9. sadly the wedge plate are not snot... and my structure desitn not allow to use more sleek shape... for make it with snot, all the structure would be changed, making the front more fragile... my design is super solid, perfect for let a kid play with it... when the commissioner will finish to build the ship i ask to him to give you his personal feedback about the solid structure i've designed
  10. Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. hi all, this is my last work, a commissioned design about the Rogue Shadow starship seen in "The Force Unleashed 2" videogame. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Rogue_Shadow Lego made one original set about the first version of the ship, but the commissioner wanted an original design of the second version of the model. ofcourse i rescaled the proportion, because the original one is a big ship, instead i made a starfighter with this design. Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. the wings can be opened for the "flight mode" and closed for landing Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. the retractable landing gear substain perfectly all the ship weight and in closed mode are totally hidden Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. Rogue_Shadow by Rusty B. the cockpit can be easly opened through the shape of the "mandibles" and at the back there is a storage space that can fit inside a complete lightsaber and 2 blaster... more pics on my Flickr What do you think about this creation? if someone wants the instructions, contact me in private.. as always, comments, opinions, criticism are very welcome! with your feedback i can improve my design skills
  11. simply true
  12. the two Death Star are different... and the difference dont make one better than the other... are different... one is newer, but a lot of people like more the old one... if you really want understand the differences, there are a lot of comparsion on internet, here on eurobricks too... but the point is another... asking "what Death Star you guys prefer?" dont make you understand what YOU would prefer... "What differences the two sets got eachother?" is a good question to understand what YOU prefer... but i repeat, this forum and the internet also are plenty of reviews about it... your not seems a question of one who wants make a personal collection... seems a question of one person who want understand what sets are more prestigiable to make a "reselling" business... and it is would not a bad thing... but if someone make a question for helping him with a personal collection for him and his child... he must make different question, not like yours
  13. is the same thing... what do YOU prefer? why buy what WE prefer? is a nonsense for me and for the suggestion of what sets are essential for a collecction... depends: someone prefers little sets, someone bigger... someone prefers minifig scale sets, someone prefers UCS scale... someone prefers old school style, some other prefers new ones... someone prefers light side sets, someone dark side... and there are some people not want original one but prefers buy parts to make their own sets... i really not understand your point: -if you really want make a collection... buy what YOU prefer, with your taste... -if you want know the prestige of some sets, why? but anyway... go to bricklink, high price means high prestige in the most of cases
  14. this is only my opinion: your question was about choosing some sets to have a your own collection playable with your child... but it seems ou want understand what retired sets got prestige... for a personalcollection, and the same for a child playing collection, i think the better choiche you can do is to see all the sets published and choose by your own what is the best for you... because is your collection.. for example for me maybe one set s the best, but for you not... you will buy that set because i said it is the most beautyfull? for another example... if i want buy a millennium falcon, i would buy the 75105 (that i think is the best) and than i will buy the minifigs to obtain the original trilogy crew... i really think you must choose some sets you like, taking in mind your preferences abut factions, details etc... and the preferences of your child too maybe, when you choosed one set, you can ask if the community think this set is a good playable set... but we cant choose sets for your collection... i repeat, this is my opinion, but i really not understand why asking us to choose for you... if you wan see all the sets published, go to bricklink site and you can see them all
  15. thx a lot for you explaination! if you, or someone else got information about some online store in europe, please say it
  16. wait... i got a doubt... you said to use 2 batteries 1,5v... fot a 3v of total... this means the led need 3v and with usb (providing 5v) a resistor is needed to downgrade the voltage o 3v... right? but the led strip/chain found on amazon use 3 batteries 1,5v... for a 4,5v in total... my doubt/question is: what voltage need those leds?
  17. cooi, and they need some resistance?
  18. i know that product... is a strip, or a chain, with a lot of led together... you use it as strip or unbuilding it and use single led per time? because i need single leds,,, if in a town building i want light up a lamp in an apartment, a strip is not usefull
  19. i prefer not buy on ebay... too many times scammed
  20. hi, i hope this is the right section (if not, moderators move this discussion as you wish) i hope someone can help me: i want light up my creations, town buildings and others... i've seen a lot of light kits online but are very expensive for me... because of it i thinked to create my own "kit" with leds, soldering etc... my question is: someone know a place online with good prices for micro leds (maybe pre-wired) in europe? i cant buy them from USA because shipping cost are crazy for an european user... thanks to all
  21. the problem is not the current area... anyway i would post it in "special themes"... but, you registered yourself and posted this advertising... without post anything in the presentation thread
  22. is a good behaviour to present yourself in the appropriate section before posting something... specially if your only purpose here is to make advertising...
  23. if you zoom the pic, you can see what you try to identify is not one piece... but 2 hoses, one with little diameter, and a pneumatic hose for the part with diameter bigger... the proof is on the right side of that mix of parts... he used the same pneumatic hose... ofcourse the designer had cut the hoses to obtain the length wanted... i hope this helps you
  24. my fault... i've controlled right now... and you are in right: the pdf downloaded from the Lego service have weird names of the file... i remembered wrong because when i search an instruction, i copy the set number... Ctrl+V on the Lego service search bar, and Ctrl+V when save the file... anyway it not takes time to being done...
  25. if you prefer that method... i'm not saying it is nosense... but i not see that complicated the procedure on Lego site as you said... the pdf have as a meaningful name, the number of the set.. i'm registered and when search an instruction, automatically the site select the pdf wirth the right region version... really, for me the official method is very simple and fast... i not see the interesting thing you said... but, well, if you enjoy it, good
