  1. Please keep us updated - this is adorable!
  2. Thanks for posting this nice MOC. I really admire all MOCers doing this: picking a subject, finding pictures, thinking colour scheme and so forth. I like your colour scheme. Is it correct the train is 7 studs wide? I do not want to sound negative, but I think the proportions around the middle are a bit strange. I found this picture: . It looks like all 7 middle windows are equally wide, but not on your model. You probably want to compensate for the width of the motor block which is too wide, but maybe it is better not to? If you have modelled in LDD, try to make all 7 middle windows the same and check the overall look...
  3. Maybe I am the only one here owing a 4841 and two additional carriages. It is true though that my kids and seeing the Potter movies triggered the buy: it was due to the theme and not the build. I would like to exchange them for the Emerald Night any time... Motoring the tender with 12v was no problem at all...
  4. More info on the smoke here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70937&view=findpost&p=1312521
  5. Just my thought! Love it. Would like to see it build!
  6. You are facing another problem. The website is not down, but for some reason you do not have access to it, probably because your administrator has closed for access. Try to access it from somewhere else physically or use a proxy like http://www.techsmartly.com/proxy/
  7. I was following your basement layout and certainly hope you will have the space in your new casa!
  8. No problems: http://bluebrick.lswproject.com/
  9. What a brute!
  10. I have been browsing the net for pictures from this apparently famous Palestine Wye from the Texas State Railroad. I easily recognise the engines and the settings - very lovely! Do you have more detailed close-ups of you carriages? I could not find them on your flickr.
  11. I think the carriages complete the whole perfectly. I can almost smell the coal and oil! I was just about to ask about carriages pictures, but then read your post.
  12. I never really got to do all the stuff I wanted, but a lot of kids were there - it was fun. Here a report done by my daughter and her friend for their (7 year old) classmates ;-)
  13. A few tips (& custom wheels) can be found here http://bigbenbricks.com/applications.html
  14. Your models and layouts are of unmatched high quality. Seeing it displayed like this together is almost intimidating... I especially adore the colour scheme used for this coal tender Is your wye fully functional? I mean are the tracks only mechanically connected or also electronically functional?
  15. Very cool 'behind the scenes' shot!
  16. Excellent work again! Impressive how realistic these MOCs are - well done!
  17. Please consider this first http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=53401&colorID=85
  18. Lovely work - massive locomotive! Too bad it isn't powered as it looks like a real animal. We should see more of these non-steam locs please...
  19. I completely agree: lately all issues have been monster sets (identical to monster investments). It could be fun with a few releases of single cars and an engine within one or two themes (like people or freight transport). This will be a cheap and easy way to extend the rolling stock.
  20. Sounds like overheating of 9v motors is not an unusual issue. But still it is weird: a motor should be able to pull a few carriages... Maybe adding more motor blocks to one train helps?
  21. You should definitely test with another controller/transformer. Any tricks by a 9v expert?
  22. Any update?
  23. Nice - the white line should definitely remain. I found 2 pictures on the nets in which the lower windows are red which somehow seems more consistent: look half way in this brickshelf folder, and in this forum.
  24. This could be really valuable! Wheel friction and magnet strength is a huge issue for 12v-trains: - lowering friction (by using 9v wheels instead of 12v) and - using stronger magnets could be a good solution here. Could you please post some pictures? Thx.
  25. Absolutely lovely and very clean design!
