  1. I've got this set in my to-do pile, I'll definitely have to give this a go!
  2. The tree looks good & I really like the gazebo/bandstand, it looks the ideal place for a carol concert!
  3. I used the Bricksearch app this morning on my iPhone, the apps camera correctly pictured every minifig, I picked up the Noir Detective the minifig I was most interested in. It's such an easy 2 step process
  4. Of course there's also the bat, rat, spider, scorpion & snake
  5. They are very cool and surprisingly recognisable.
  6. Probably a reference to the fact R2-D2 & C-3PO can be seen in Raiders Of The Lost ark on a wall engraving http://urlybits.com article
  7. You could try the British newspapers Metro & Daily Mail as this is the kind of article you often see in them.
  8. It doesn't seem connected to TLG or Merlin. I think it's been done by this website http://www.egoleonard.nl/opreis.html as he's got Ego Leonard on his back... Who knows why though!
  9. I've watched the video and that is what she says, however in what I think is the original article I can't see Lego & The Hobbit linked so strongly... Link to LA Times interview quoted
  10. The head with the headset is from 4791 Alpha Team Sub-Surface Scooter so that's on the right torso
  11. As a start the wolf figure is part of the wolfpack although as you thought the head doesn't match Search for Wolf in minifigs on Bricklink his head is from various sets bricklink search
  12. Sorry to double post but here's a picture from today my work colleague sent me...
  13. That's the total width but it does go back quite a long way... According to the press release it's 3933 sq ft if that helps
  14. According to the Brickset forum the Liverpool Lego store was due to open today (although the grand opening is a few weeks off yet) I was there yesterday and it did look nearly ready...
  15. I say turn-of-the-century style hotel if it's a pub, if it was more of a bar then maybe art deco
  16. To be honest I thought that, although the price label on the shelf gave an RRP of £99.99
  17. The Lego City Triple pack 66358 - The Farm - 3 in 1 - with 7634, 7635 and 7636 is going for £59.99 at Home Bargains in St Helens...
  18. According to jobsatlego.com they're looking for an assistant store manager to assist in the preparation, opening and then management of the store, the start date for the post is the end of July 2011... So it'll be opening sometime after that... Your post was the first I've heard of a Liverpool store and now I can't wait, I've had to make do with the one at the Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre which isn't a real store and is pretty limited in the PAB wall and the BAM selection!
  19. How does this normally work? Do you get a voucher in the paper on say the Monday & if you go into Toys R Us you can collect any toy? Or the toy for that day? Can you go in at the end of the week with 6/7 vouchers and collect all the toys? (assuming they haven't ran out)
  20. Some questions: He gave him a very good medicine. => Can you say this? Is medicine countable? I'd say: he gave him SOME very good medicine. "he gave him SOME very good medicine" is grammatically correct. She was at the beach. She walked along. => Can you use "walked along" without an object? If not, where would you insert the personal pronoun "it"? => She walked it along. OR She walked along it. (The first one sounds much better, the last one very strange.) I can't think of any situation where we'd say "She walked it along" except maybe if talking about walking an animal, "she grabbed the horses reins and walked it along the footpath". We wouldn't really use "She walked along." on it's own, even "She walked along it." would be too short a sentence... I'd say "she walked along the beach" or "when she got to the beach she walked along it" or you could say "she walked along looking in all the windows". Basically I think you need to say where she walked or what she's doing while walking. She went on a beach. => I'd say: She went TO the beach. OR: She walked ON/ALONG the beach. I'd say either of yours would be correct We have a lot of visitors now. => OK or do you have to say "we are having..."? Or are both tenses possible? Normally you'd say either "We have a lot of visitors" in present tense or "we are having a lot of visitors tonight/tomorrow" in a future tense. Although you could say "We have a lot of visitors now, could you come back later?". "We have a lot of visitors now." doesn't sound right as a standalone sentence. From a native English speaker in England. (I've had to be so careful typing this out so as not to mislead anyone) .
  21. What about one if those machines for putting tyres back onto a rim? Should be quite easy? I love the interior detail in your mocs especially the simple brick built tools & machines!
  22. Cheers for the welcome everyone I used to have general sets and some classic space (I must have stopped buying them the first time in about 1985, I managed to keep about 5 minifigs from my first time around (the chef and some classic space figs) I got a few of the yellow skinned Star Wars minifigs about 10 years ago but my collection of minifigs has shot up to 73 already!
  23. Thanks for the info Peppermint! Now I look at them again I can see the feet are obviously different, something to watch out for! Now my only dilemma is I was going to bid on a job lot of Lego the same seller had but I might find that is also full of cloned Lego... Hmmm what to do?
  24. In this auction of various minifigs & bits 'n' bobs ebay auction 230616321810 there are some strange minifigs I don't recognise, I've done a rudimentary search on Bricklink but can't find them, can anyone tell me if they're genuine Lego or not?
  25. Just to say hello to the forum, I've been lurking for a few weeks and decided to introduce myself. I got rid of most of my Lego a (good) few years ago but have bought a couple of the small sets over the last few years. My interest in Lego has been reignited after seeing minifigs in a few topics on a photography forum talkphotography.co.uk. I've got a very small Lego collection but I'm trying to buy a few small job lots on eBay and I've just started investigating Bricklink for specific parts. I used to be interested in the Star Wars but I've been put off by the "fleshies", I'm also collecting the Collectibles and like the City and historical themes. I'm also into photography and watching Rugby League...
