The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
coronaking replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
What do you mean by "traditional"? Purple Catwoman has a long history in the comics and is one of her more iconic looks. -
I recently noticed something on my female Lego minifigures and need a place to vent. If this topic already exists, I apologize (but I used the search and couldn't find anything similar). It seems that for a while now female figures have a different kind of waist compared to the male (or neutral) ones. As you can see in the picture, all the figures have an unicoloured space at the edge that implies wider hips and smaller waistlines. Even figures that are modeled after licensed characters that aren't even supposed to be "sexy" - like Rey from Star Wars or the Scary Goth Girl from CMF series 12. I'm sure the devoted Lego fans here already noticed, but I was really taken aback when I saw it a while ago. Can someone tell since when this is going on? Isn't the community bothered by this? I think it's quite sad that even little brick women are designed to have an hourglass shape that's not necessary at all for this kind of toy. There are more than enough toys that promote unhealthy body images. I hope someone agrees. (Not to mention the lack of female representation and the focus on the colour pink and stereotypical "girly" topics in some sets. But that can also get discussed here, of course!)

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Thanks, GentlemanJoker! After googling them they all sound plausible. And the blue one on the right definitely looks like Zodiac Master! He even has these strange curls above his eyes (seen better in motion). -

Thanks for pointing out that Robin in a suit! That was the only one from the leaked CMF pic that I couldn't recognize as anything. Now I see it. By the way - can anyone identify the villains behind Joker that aren't seen clearly? From left to right there's also some kind of mohawk, a top hat and someone with a blue face and a mark on his forehead on the right. And a few more between them. -

I thought that too, but looking at these set pictures (thanks, Invincible_LEGOMAN!) - it seems to be exactly the same! Including these retractable arms. What a monstrous build. -

There's also some kind of green monster at around 1:56. I wonder what the Joker is up to there. (But that probably doesn't belong here?) -

That Scuttler looks impressive! And the Joker has these long coattails in both sets. So not much variation there, I guess. But I love the Balloon Escape Set - probably the easiest (cheapest) way to get both Batman and the Joker, if you only care for the figures. -

One thing that caught my eye immediately - when the lightning strikes, there are Gremlins on Batman's plane! But I guess they won't be part of any set. -

Oh god, that looks awesome! So much to see there! And there's Polkadot Man! Another obscure classic villain! This movie will be so good! -

I can't even find that group. Do you have a link, Robianco? -
Cool, thanks! I wonder what the character will be. Maybe Kevin with his motorcycle. Or Holtzman, if only because she was awesome! Another thing I haven't seen anywhere, so maybe it's news: The German brochure for Year 2 shows another model instead of the biplane in the Sonic Pack. I guess it's one of the plane's alternative builds (although I don't know why it is shown there). I couldn't find a decend picture of the back of the box, so here's a scan. Sorry for the quality!

Is it official that there will be more of this film? First time I hear about this!

I even wrote my thesis on Batman and have never heard of most of these. I must say, if that leaked list is accurate, I will be disappointed. Of course it would be a big surprise if A-List villains would appear as CMF, but there's a whole range between 'celebrities' like Joker and people like Clock King that may only be known to die-hard fans. -
Great couch, kritch! Here is my entry - "Can't Sleep, Clown'll Eat Me"! Unfortunately without a real Simpson minifigure, because I had to use LDD. If anyone doesn't know the scene I'm referencing, here's the clip. More pictures of the build can be found here, here and here, because it was my first time using LDD and I'm very proud of the result! I hope you guys like it!

Thank you! Sounds great!

Very cool idea, I love this! Just one question regarding the quoted rule: I'm working on something that I'm already very proud of. Is it allowed to include links to more images? Of course I will only post one, but I might want to show off the build from different angles. Would that be against the rules?

Only one of them has been released so far, so the decision should be quite easy.

Well, Clayface in the comics and games can change his size. It wouldn't be surprising to see him appear in his big form and also as a normal-sized minifig, I guess. The way he was in the past "Lego Batman" games. -
Thank you! Uh, thanks! I looked on German eBay now and it's there for like 20 €, too (and for more than 300 on Amazon )! Maybe it's not to late! I will definitely try, thank you!

I'm sure that's too obscure for them, but man, I'd buy that on day one! "Casper" was my favorite movie back then! I have only one wish so far: "Tomb Raider"! A franchise popular for 20 years with lots of fans and a big influence on gaming! I could imagine a Level Pack with Lara Croft and one of her many vehicles. She has had so many, you could easily choose something that hasn't been done in "Dimensions" yet, like a quad-bike or jeep. Also a level in some temple ruins in a tropical jungle with wild animals, traps and some of the more outlandish stuff like dinosaurs, walking statues, mummies or even mythological gods - that would be just awesome! Edit: I totally forgot that a Level Pack would include another build! Maybe something explosive or an ancient artifact with mystic powers.

I can't wait for that Sonic level pack! I've been in nostalgia mode ever since it was first teased! I just wish they would have given Tails his own set, maybe with the plane. Now it looks like the supporting characters will just be available through Sonic's toy tag and not in physical form (like the Ghostbusters or Goonies with Abby and Sloth).

It's been a few weeks, but I'm still very impressed by the little AT-AT from last month's "Lego Star Wars Magazine"! The quality of the sets is very hit-and-miss (at least judging by the few I have seen), but this one is really well done for its size!

I'm torn concerning Two-Face (haha). He's my favorite Batman villain, so I can't wait to be able to get a new Lego version of him. I'm also all for diversity in media and like that they were influenced by the Billy Dee Williams version that Tim Burton tried to create! But I'm much more a fan of the realistic takes on his wounds. Rather burnt skin and hair loss (like in "The Dark Knight") than bright colours that make no sense (like in "Batman Forever"). But I don't suppose the characters from a Lego movie targeted towards a very young audience are going to be realistic. -

A few days late, but if you still want to know: There was nothing new in the text. It would translate to: "Last week there were three new LEGO Batman Movie Sets presented at the New York Comic-Con. Now pictures of the first polybag called "The Batman Movie: Batman in the Phantom Zone" (30522) have surfaced. The pictures - they show the front and back of the mini-set - were postet by a seller in an US-American forum for classifieds/small advertisements. The Batman minifigure included in the set is equipped with the new belt that has already been seen on the officially announced set. Further details like availability, price and number of pieces aren't known. According to our informations there will be a lot of promotional sets when the "LEGO Batman Movie" comes out. So it stays interesting!" There's no mention what forum they mean and no link to any source. -
Hallo everyone! After lurking for a while (mainly in threads about "Lego Batman") I decided to create an account! I'm a wannabe writer from Germany and although I don't own that many sets, I have never stopped to be interested in Lego. These days it's mainly the "Lego Dimensions" game, CMF and some of the licensed properties (like "Batman" and "Star Wars") I'm into, but seeing what's new in the catalogue is always a treat! I can't afford much, but someday I want to own the big "Arkham Asylum" set, also I'm always on the lookout for pieces to build some characters from my stories. When I was a kid I always wished for the old pizzeria set, but never got it. I'm an adult now and could probably just buy it myself, but somehow I never got around to it. If it is even available anymore. I'm looking forward to be part of this forum! (A sidenote: I tried for several days to sign up with another mail adress and just didn't get any confirmation/validation mails. Has that happened to anybody else? I had to use a gmail adress that I normally don't use now. If that still can be changed I would appreciate it!)
