    Yes! I think this is right and the lesson Lego seems unwilling to learn is that the price tag for in house Lego digital content that people are willing to pay is basically zero. The other day there was a survey on Lego.com about what was essentially a paid social media platform TLG must be about to launch- digital/ screens seem like this white whale that Lego can’t resist trying to hunt. let other platforms whose expertise is digital be digital and stay in your buildable, screen free lane. Partner with orgs who do it better if you must but most people enjoy Lego for what it already is. I loved Vidiyo for how weird it was- I didn’t let my kids really interact with the app because that isn’t what Lego is in this house. Our Lego town smoothie shop is staffed by a Vidiyo dragon mini fig though, which is actually representative of TLG’s core mission statement. I will pay $$$ for sets but invest zero time or cash in digital platforms out of brand loyalty.

    That squrriel is hecking cute! I know Friends sets aren't everyone's favorite on this thread but 41707 has a bee, lady bug and butterfly. Love that all three are included in a garden set!

    Some sets have made their way to Instagram. The street food set is INCREDIBLE. The figs included are so great!!! The characters are 👩🏻‍🍳. I love the hair piece with the bow 😻. The orange slices dot is such a great new food piece too!!! The green house set is so detailed, love the inclusion of the bee, lady bug and butterfly!

    Was able to pick up the Leopard Bag Tag and Panda Bag Tag at Target- truly so cute! Will be curious to see if the soft lip around the cubes helps prevent tiles from going missing. I really love this theme!

    Ellie V posted a review of Vidiyo and my kids were DELIGHTED by the theme. I had a hunch they would like the idea. The app looks like it has potential but it also seems like it has a lot of kinks to work out. I suppose one must wait until March 1 to fully judge its functionality. My kids don't really have devices of their own except for an OLD borrowed Ipad that I am certain will not support this app. That all said, the beat boxes still feel like they should be $15.

    My daughter as a toddler was so afraid of the Dobby at our library that I had to shield her eyes every time we entered or exited the kid section. 😂 Now she is obsessed and would also go for a buildable Dobby.

    🙄... As if this is all political theatre. Disney was doubling down on streaming and realligning their entire corporate structure regardless of the current public health crisis anyway. The pandemic certainly sped up the timeline but releasing direct to consumer leapfrogging theatrical release via Disney+ was plan A. I doubt direct to streaming will affect distribution of products related to movies released- pandemic related supply chain disruptions is more likely. Here is to hoping the long term effect is less branded disposable merchandise with the release of films in favor of quality, well thought out toys like Lego. 😊

    The Cinema features a movie poster that looks like the "movie," is set in space. Maybe an Easter egg? I could see a cute little subtheme set in space- maybe instead of animals in need of rescue they find little aliens in need of assistance!

    I would LOVE an honest to goodness farm wave but wouldn't be surprised by an eventual Creator 3 and 1 set with a house/barn/ vehicle along with a smattering of brickbuilt animals instead. Feels like that is how TLG aiming to satisfy AFOL wish lists without full waves or new product lines. It is clear that police must test better with kids time and again but I still can't help but be surprised that farming isn't sort of an omnipresent theme within the City line based on my own children's play and toy preferences. Granted, I live in a heavily agricultural area and we are avid Lego animal seekers! General consensus here seems like the wildlife wave with likely be Safari. I'm excited either way but am kind of hoping this is another opportunity to get a deer. Perhaps a recolored HP otter?

    I think this last batch of redesigns have been really neat so I think there is a lot of potential. For example, the doggy daycare this time around is so different aesthetically from the previous version. My kiddo basically got heart eyes when she saw it despite having the previous version. The details and clever designs have been really exceptional these last few waves! I agree with you, a modern hotel would be really exciting! Especially because our little city mixes City and Friends- the modern house needs a friend! With the inclusion of micro dolls, I wonder if the school will be an elementary school where the older girls work or volunteer. That could be so fun! I'm sad about the winter cubes- was really hoping for a cube with a deer! I read somewhere that they were lost/ delayed in shipping... No idea if that is true but would make sense as they were advertised in the Oceania region. Wasn't there a giant transport ship with a lot of consumer goods on board that had issues last year? I'm not sure but I swear I read something and saw pictures of giant shipping containers falling from a ship. Maybe the cubes are at the bottom ocean. They sell really fast here despite what I have read here about them sitting on shelves for ages. I think some of that sentiment has to do with people's predisposition to be anti - Friends. Anyway, I really like the cubes! Was hoping to find them in time for Valentine's day but I can wait.

    List of summer sets has leaked- forest theme is exciting! I wonder if this is a continuation of the Nat Geo partnership! City has a wild life rescue line coming too. Would make sense! Hoping for a fawn in one of them with the dark eyes from the last Sleeping Beauty set.

    It is working now- probably has been but initially wasn't working for me either. Pretty standard maraca sound sound. These names and the scanable tile rumor/piece of information give me Hit Clips vibes- was super into those for a bit as a kid. I wonder if each set is going to come with its own vibe/ music clips and the point of collecting is both for zany characters and the ability to record more intricate videos/vidiyos within the app. Whatever it ends up being I'm excited to check it out.

    Perhaps the animals will be "rescued," and instead of performing they are meant to be viewed and learned about? IDK, if a Narwhal can be in the temperate location Heartlake City is without too much analysis perhaps a Friends circus aims gloss over the problematic nature of circuses in the name of saving animals. Or that is their hope, anyway. The elephant is such a quintessential circus animal that it almost feels strange that TLG wouldn't use the mold they had used the year before if there was to be a circus theme. We are a strict no circus family for obvious reasons however I can't help but be excited to see how a circus theme would be done. Aesthetically, the circus has many fun avenues to travel. Hopefully it is more of a carnival and less of an animal performance showcase.

    I'm excited to see what this is really all about- the two images I have seen already conjures some of the quirky, offbeat feeling that made so much of the Lego Movie charming for me!

    Would make sense with the Vidiyo wave coming in the spring- maybe what ever tech/app that goes with that could be utilized as a play feature with a Livi wave. This year seems like the year of Andrea!
