Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
ManitobaMoe replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well i have never been really big into castle but i bought the village to add to my town and the new stuff blends into that nicely. -
Well bought the Effie Tower a couple of weeks ago from member on eurobricks and I am so glad i spend the money. It is so big that i dont know where i am going to put it. It is more impressive and better than i could ever imagine. I hope that Lego keeps releasing these masters of work as i can hardly wait to build the others i have. Just need to find the Statue of Liberty and base at a good price to round out the collection

Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
ManitobaMoe replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I would like to recommend that Sokratesz be added to the list. I purchased some bricks from him and they arrived in good time with excellent packaging. This was the first time that i have ever bought something outside of ebay or bricklink and it went very well. Thanks so very much Manitoba Mie -
I think that 15 bucks for the ferris wheel is a great deal. most of the pieces in that set are so common that it should not matter that 12 pieces are missing and who knows, you might for some of them in the 3000 pieces you buy from him. I say go for it

Wish i had your kind of space and yes i have to agree, lego seems to get dusty fast :) Look forward to seeing your town as it grows

A very fine drill bit to drill it out. be careful though

TLG gets greener (ie. more environment friendly)
ManitobaMoe replied to Sandy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I work in a recycling facility and the bags are considered Plastic Film. While for most recycling you get paid by the ton, recycling facilities actually have to the receiver to take plastic film. All plastics grades of plastics are recyclables in North America but since there is no market for a lot of grades, the are tossed into the garbage instead because it is cheaper. I actually look forward to the day when we here in North America are forced to recycle like they are in eastern countries. Just because we have cheap land to toss it into, doesnt mean that is what should be done. I have bought a number of lego sets this year and although i agree they have smaller boxes, they still have a lot of room in them. What is on the outside of the box doesnt influence my purchase so i could careless if they had less room for graphics -

Well any time they want, they can reduce the size of the box to reflect the amount of lego in it. Not only would this save them on box material, it would reduce their shipping costs. -
I collect them up in one of my pab cups and then when it is full, it gets sent to the thrift store

How long does PAB take to arrive?
ManitobaMoe replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My 3 PAB orders arrived in my mail in Canada (without the strike on) in about 10 to 14 days. I am guessing the larger ones would take a little longer as they do have to hunt down all the bricks -
Summer time i would guess but wait til August. When it becomes free to play, i am sure many more will join
-
i have about 1/2 of that in my inventory list but then i haven't ever inventoried all my sets. Congrats on going to the world record. Too bad you didnt have some friends to come over and help you increase your number of sets :)

That is so cool. Love how you used the mesh to hold the mattress together
-
I love that song. Happy Canada Day
-
Reminds me of graphics from old Nintendo games such as Final Fantasy. Love them

Think I'm drifting towards becoming an AFOL...
ManitobaMoe replied to MiniJunkie's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The nice thing about this hobby is you can do what ever you feel like. Never be afraid to open your purchase and enjoy it because if that makes you happy, that is all that matters. From time to time, i build custom stuff but i enjoy showing my town full of lego sets
