  1. Including the AT-AT and Bane's speeder which were very tempting. Oh well. I got a mint AT-TE recently for my bday so shouldn't complain [sorry Legoman - that one was top of the list].
  2. 18 years until clearance? That's some shelf life. Old is the Pneu matic. I find it surprising how little of that collection on TM has moved given how low some of the buy nows are.
  3. Hitting buy now isn't very difficult. It's not hitting buy now that I'm struggling with.
  4. Warewhare clearance specials if you can find them: 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter $90 8085 Freeco Speeder $30 Quite possible that any other SW sets which have dropped off their website are similarly reduced. Also noticed that Barnes & Noble in the US had specials on SW stuff. The 7961 Sith Infiltrator would be about NZD$90 landed.
  5. Indeed. Don't let that sentiment temper your dissection of the new version though.
  6. It may in the AFOL mind, but a very, very large number of people young and old are more than happy with 6212. There has been so much biffo between my lads since one of them got this for their birthday that it's threatening to derail my reborn meglegomania. Can't wait to see the new version, but. The TIE fighter looks mint.
  7. ToyCo has 20% off lego SW and games at the moment.
  8. There's a thought. Jango Fett Battle Pack anyone? Well placed skepticism CF.
  9. One for the collectors: Cloud City Boba Fett on TM, $10 start bid, no reserve.
  10. We used a credit card and it appears the charge was reversed. Seems quite a few people have had a similar problems with Fishypond.
  11. Grrrrrrrr. Fishpondscum. Two out of two orders dropped because they never actually had the stock. What a shonky outfit. That order was for my lad's birthday. Never again. An 8018 AAT for $26 from TM helped ease the nerves some.
  12. Toyco has all its SW lego on sale at the moment. Nothing drastic. Not sure about the other themes.
  13. Gaaaar! Slave 1 for a hundie at the WH! Not really the kind of ship you need more than one of though is it?
  14. Does it get any more evil than this? I think not. This act perpetuated endless suffering in more than one galaxy.
  15. Does anyone here buy direct from US stores? Seems like a good option with the current dollar and the State's special treatment by TLG. The shipping costs I found were surprisingly low too. For example, the Wampa Cave set can be landed from B&N for less than NZ$65. That's not a discount I would expect to see for the TW and Farmers exclusives in a hurry. [Please ignore the noob if this has already been done to death]
  16. Cheers. Will send an agent from the southern bureau next time there's a sale.
  17. Is 7869 Battle for Geonosis still available anywhere in NZ? I think someone here mentioned it had been cleared from their local kmart months ago.
  18. The local warewhare was crammed full of lego when I dropped in yesterday. All the HP sets, POTC, Pharoah's Quest and new Ninjago. Even up against some fairly stiff competition, the new SW stuff still really stands out for its gobsmacking prices. Try picking up one of the $80 Geonosian Starfighter boxes. There's probably BPs that weigh more. No sign of the Frigate or the MF.
  19. Depends if you like the idea of midi-scale really. Not a whole lot of model at RRP, but it's a nice design. Not that I have one. Ha. How much is it going for?
  20. Cheers AoNZ. As a recent returnee, it's a good thing that TLG sees fit to extend the shelf life of at least a couple of classic midrange SW sets. It's a panaceea to the maddeningly rapid rumour, reveal, mob, and surrender to discounts and auctioning that goes on with the majority of them. I wouldn't complain about another cow or two in the easy money paddock.
  21. Checked S@H to see if the UK and US free shipping deal applied to NZ as well. It doesn't, but you do get a free police motorcycle with orders over a hundie or so. I also noticed that the Battle of Endor is currently available for $200. Has that always been there? And was that the original NZ RRP? Pity that the shipping charge puts it into TM price range.
  22. Cheers legoman. In light of that, I'll revise my offer: If, like me, anyone would like a minifig or three from Chromebricks - or a small number of pieces - PM me. I'll probably be ordering at the end of next week and will forward free of charge to an NZ address anything that can fit in an envelope . Contributions to the shipping and transactions charges welcome, but not at all expected because I'll be paying them anyway. Same. Is there some priveledged industry source for such quantities of figures and parts? Particularly those they stock which are still attached to the molding frame? It's odd.
  23. Nuts, more like it. I wonder at roughly what point it would be cheaper to buy molding and printing machines to make your own? 100,000 figs? A million?
  24. Anyone want anything from Chromebricks on BL? Apparently my boy will be getting some SW royal guards for his birthday and they had more than a thousand last time I checked. Should be enough. PM me if interested in combining orders. I'll forward the goods when they arrive. I don't have any experience trading here, but can offer my TM feedback as peace of mind. Also, I am assuming that there is a worthwhile saving to be made by doing this, but maybe not for small quantities.
  25. Sweet as. I got one for the boys in the Toyworld sale. It's a pretty cool set. I don't understand why it seems to cop flak in reviews. Yes, it's another JSF, but for almost the same price as the others, it comes with two droids on STAPS and the excellent tactical droid with speeder. AFOLs are weird. Wonder what the UCS MF on TM is gonna go for? $900 at the mo' with 20 min to go....
