  1. todays only sept retail purchase was super heroes line Ghost rider team up for the wife. I have a BL order I plan to set up for bits I need, but rest is waiting till oct n 2x month
  2. Actually the minecraft castle aka the fortress isn't a D2C but a regurlar release. Local walmart already has a sign up for it n space allocated. So still no idea whatthe 2nd D2C is there.
  3. Firstly from exp the ghiant stuff, it does fix it, by basically adding an laquer film on top. Also what brand of decal sheets? i have found some who's chemestry blocks the micro product line.
  4. not a clue, likely when i was 3 or 4, many moons ago, but would of been one of 70's town sets or classic space sets, can't say for sure as folks gave it all away when i was 10ish
  5. Ahmen to 2x points, I was gonna buy stuff in sept, but this just clinched it, as hard as it is, I'll wait
  6. peel off some glue n put in some iso to be sure, if it disolvrs great, as even 99% iso won"t affect abs, hell it won't even affect poly styryne, aka most model plastic and that stuff is alot chemically weaker (I've bathed ps models for a week strieght to get paint off in 99% with no plastic effect)
  7. Better yet, how about a pure white one, so kids could scribble thier own characters
  8. well, while i can't suggest suppliers over in uk, but any model railroad shop may help. but for street lamps at lego specs, you pretty much need to go smd 0402, the are the smallest about i've found then you'll need to also run either magnet wire or the smallest wire you can find. small enough and you can run it down the poles center, and most magnet wire can slip between bricks without bother. but given the amount you'll want, you'll need to use a wall socket to provide enough voltage and amps, so once you've decided on how many leds, you'll have to calculate how many and type of resistors (there online calcs for that).
  9. Dunedain. In moments like this, brickset is your friend.
  10. Edmaza: that theory depends on location. Here in canada, amazons insane. Rare theres a sale, and when there is its discounted to be slightly higher then RRP. Aka prices at amazon.ca are at times nearly 2x RRP. It's sick. And sadly at least in my region, sales go like this. "5% off, on anything, excluding all lego except that 1 set no one wants that the discount = it being only 20$ more then lego store" n so far i've had no luck with yard sales, granted ppl here only seem to have them saturday 8am-2pm while i'm working so. *shrug* maybe i'm just cursed.
  11. The wisest route. In list form! 1. Gather together all your bills (or exspected bills in your case), add them all up, add 20%. that's your core spending. 2. Subtract that from your current net income (post taxes) 3. Deduct 50% for food. 4. Deduct another 25% for clothing, (stuff does wear out), unless ypur into designer brands then it's anpther 50% 5. Take the remainder and cut it in half. (savings) 6. Result is your entertainment budget (aka lego's, odd movie etc) Reality is, it's gonna prolly be small, at least to start, the more you can minimize your bills and increase income, the bigger it will get. Example (values in cdn as ot what I know) Income :24000/yr, 2000/mth Bills: lets say 1400/mth So 600/mth left - 300 for food (sh!t ain't cheep) - 75 for clothing = 275 /2 = 137.5 for entertainment Thonk that gives you an idea.
  12. actually that's more or less what i have planned for mine, a surface, subsurface with seperation and the neither at the bottom. but having just 'awoken' and with a small budget, just don't have the collection to do it. but as the purse strings loosen plan to start bulk ordering many more bricks and alot of tiles to slowly build it out to what i've envisioned. maybe even to point might be worth taking it to Brickfet next year. basically going for something between the image you showed and the one http://www.eurobrick...inecraft +chunk but i want to retain the play value while still keeping my own buiding style i use in game (as that's how the house started). or least when i'm NOT building into the side of a mountain and making a hidden base (I'm a total piston whore, i admit it)
  13. Place called Barrie, well, it's where I've called home since '03, it's a nice little city, sadly no local lugs as far as I can tell. And god did autocorrect go south on my opening post. The typo's. The bane of digital keyboards vs physical
  14. Well guess I'm finally going to be buying the rumble blade.
  15. Had some fun speed stackin (had a ten min in & out timelimit). Stocked up on plates, needed, n alot of 1x1 bricks in dark bley. The purple 1x1 round plates n fy teeth were filler, doing a mincraft moc atm so blue, dbg n lbg plates n the 2x2 n 1x1 brick find were godsends, plus 2x vip points. Side note, folks at my store are like, 'fits close enough, lets tape it for sure, we've already helped u pick up one this year" :)
  16. Yeah, I'm slowly working away at mine, atm it's pure surface build, plan to give it it's own moc thread when I have a chance to take non fuzzy images
  17. Greetings fellow Euronrickers. Yet another long time lurker who finally decided to join in. Names Fox, and I'm from Canada, (the abused ontario to be accurate). Prolly won't say much, always takes me awhile to settle into saying much, but I wanted to share and finally felt like I had something worth sharing. Only been out of my dark ages since May, so collections far from huge. Still quite modest really. But working on that. (no childhood lego left, parents sold/gave that away 20yrs ago or so....) So right now yes, my main theme is minecraft, which I know has it's fair share of disdain in the AFOL community, but I like it (play the game so might be why the astetics dont bug me. Plus its a great source of common bricks. Also helps around my parrs the local wallyworld (walmart) tends to price reduce them fairly often, quick little flash sales to bring down inventoey (closest store happens to be the regions liqudation store, so lots of 2014-2015 product rest of the stores don't want, their job is to move it) Okay, this is me shutting up now.

    KREO

Having many of the sets, they wernt bad. Yeah the molds wern't up to lego"s high quality standards, with 99% being lifted from lego's parts repositories, but I liked their ball joint design and the use of character heads and imho as far as articulation the kreon's are better. What with their ball jointed hips n shoulders. But quality wise very hasbro, hit n miss and lots of qc issues. But beyond all that, it was a theme/brand that brought me back to lego so, can't thank it enough (I avoided the last year or so of kreo as honestly, it felt as half baked as the entire tf brand is these days)
