Here is my character, the furs are custom made by me and the body is an old vikings one. I'm sure you all know the face. I've posted an epic as my backstory in the hall. Oh and by the way, any of you want to guess what 'Haldor Skovgaard' means?

It was a cold and icy morning and a lone figure was making his way to the nearest shelter, he had traveled far from the frozen Norse lands in search of a greater meaning to his existance. He was clad in thick furs and heavy chainmail, he carried a small satchel stuffed full of what little supplies he could carry. As the sun rose the townsfolk noticed his worn and battered face, his flowing hair and beard, the strange crystal he clutched tightly. And his eyes, those young eyes told a story of his life and his journey to the port of Eubric. It all started many years ago, in a wintery Norse village full of brave warriors and wise veterans... Haldor was a child alone, crying in a corner. He was being kicked and laughed at, tortured and hurt. All his childhood Haldor was mocked and bullied. He was different, he was beaten and laughed at for it. He was not like them. Haldor had the strange power, the others thought him weak and bullied him. And he couldn't defend himself. But things were to change, soon Haldor would be above it all... Since birth Haldor had been different from the other young men of the Norse clan, they always drempt of battle and hunting whereas Haldor was quiet, thinking of the world and why it was as it is. Haldor was bullied for not being as strong or as violent as the others, and laughed at for trying to understand great tomes and muttering to himself. Norsemen didn't think reading and writing were important skills next to hunting and survival tactics, but Haldor valued literacy. He thought it important to be able to understand and interpret the scrolls of the ancient heroes, as well as the simple signs of the world. Whenever Haldor told the great warriors of his ambition to be literate, they laughed at him, and said he be better off learning to swing a sword properly. The young Haldor ignored the jeers, and over the course of years he learnt basic how to read and write basic sentances from deciphering the Norse scripts. The bullies would have surely destroyed them, if it were not for their deep cultural significance. Haldor tried to be like the others, but he did not enjoy killing, and he wasn't exactly famed for his accuracy with the large two-handed swords, a fact that the others often reminded him of, that the Norsemen prided themselves in. No, Haldor much prefered to try and give life back to things that were dying, he realised how precious life is, and saw no point in removing the great gift unless it was entirely necerssary. Haldor asked for training in the art of medicine under the healers and wise men of the village, but they were constantly telling him to go and train as a proper Norsemen. After a while of pestering, the healers agreed to teach him rudimentry techniques, but Haldor strangely already knew the things they told him. As if he had been born with an advanced medical knowledge imbued in his brain. He even tried to teach the healers a thing or two, for example, how a flesh wound can be treated without the amputation of a limb. For Haldor wasn't just well-versed in medicine, for he had always had this unusal touch. Beetles that were crushed had wriggled again, and cattle condemmed by disease had miraculously risen when Haldor had been told to feed them. This power was to change Haldor's life in the coming weeks. As usual in the autumn months the men of the village rode out into the forest to stock up the supplies for winter. But one hunting trip was different, everything went as smooth as ever with plentiful deer and wolves to slay and eat. But lurking in the woods was something bad. A wolf was prowling the woods, but it was not natural, the beast had been twisted and warped by a dark presence. The monstrosity stalked the mounted Norsemen like wild rabbits, the hunters were becoming the hunted. The cheiftain, Throdric the Iron-hand, had spotted the creature, and decided that it would make a great prize. Throdric unhitched his spear and charged at the beast, attempting to skewer it with a single blow. It didn't end well to say the least. Haldor had been reluctently trapping a hare when he heard the terrible screams. Out of instinct he rushed over to see the twisted wolf savaging the bleeding figure of the clan's chief. Haldor shouted for help, but stood there frozen with fear as the thing turned it's demonic gaze to him. But the rest of the hunting party arrived in the nick of time, and the beast was slain by a dozen axe and blade wounds. But the cheiftain was mortally wounded, as the monster's evil bite was draining his strength. The healers of the clan were called to do anything they could to save him, but Throdric was fading. One of the healers had seen the boy Haldor use his strange energy to revive a stricken hound, and so Haldor was ordered to do everything in his power to prevent Throdric from dying in pain. Haldor started by muttering words and incantations, but he soon lost control. Haldor appeared to be having a fit as blue light erupted from his eyes and he twitched and writhed. But eyes turned toward the chieftan, as his bloody cuts and ugly hacked flesh began fizzing and evaporating into a strange blue gas. Soon all trace of the attack had vanished, and the healers were astonished at the amazing happening before them. After what seemed like hours Haldor awoke to see what he had done. Haldor was revered as a hero and honoured as a proper healer of the village. But after months of reviving headstrong young men and foolhardy warriors he grew bored. Haldor wanted to use his powers for a purpose, not to help stupid Norsemen recover from minor sparring injuries. He heard whispers of a free land where people from every race and all walks of life were welcome. Haldor hoped he could maybe even meet others who were blessed with a similar gift. Haldor gathered his meagre belongings and left in the night, bound for the fabled port of Eubric. The road was hard and perilous, and Haldor encountered many violent and cruel men. On the journey Haldor honed and improved his fighting skills, in case of an ecounter with danger. But after 3 years of hardship and toil Haldor finally found his way to the kingdom of Uland, and stumbled upon a ferry bound for the free port of Eubric. He was hungry and tired after his quest and entered what he thought was a tavern, but turned out to be Heroica Hall! He had arrived at the legendary hall where heros were made. Haldor strode up to the quest board and signed up to the hero roster, and waited for new quests to be posted. Haldor strode up to the bar and ordered a roast hare and some ale from the free bar. He said his thanks to the orc maid and sat down at a table. He notices a cloaked figure in the corner holding a falcon and strolls over to hear his story. "Greetings! I hope we can become friends, why don't you come and sit at my table and we can learn more about each other" Haldor glances and a strange ape-like creature deep in conversation with a ranger and decides to talk to them. " I have not seen one of your kind before you and and your friend should join my table and we shall share our stories."

There seems to be a problem with the castle decal index. Whenever I view it I can only see the first post, the other post with more decals (e.g. faces and shields) is not there. Is this a problem with the index or my connection? Thanks for any help!

Great work on designing this Sandy! I really want to join but still can't decide on what class, it's between barbarian, cleric and knight for me. I won't have my fig ready for a while (away from LEGO till sunday) so I was wondering if you guys could make him for me. The sort of thing I want, please is: Orc knight (not yet named and aged) Face: standard orc face with this decal (orc face adapted by me) Neck: POTC sword sheath in brown Torso: body that fits with this decal (castle knight re-coloured by me) Legs: any that go well with the fig Hat: brown hood Weapon: dark bley longsword in sheath (or hand, whichever looks best) Shield: standard orc shield Sorry if this is hard to make and please could you position him in a cool way for the pic, thanks! Thanks guys and I look forward to questing with you, I'm working on my character info now.

Well said , I personally wouldn't buy these but I have to admit the cutlass is cool and the set it is very similar for a lot less money. These sets seem pretty usefull for shipbuilding as you get all the hulls and cannons you do in the BSB, but for a much cheaper price. Without the figs, it's hard to tell the difference (the BSB actually looks the same), with all this you'd think the hull was purple and the figures were all recoloured Yodas and rock monsters. One person hating them won't make them go away so, since they are here they make a cheap alternative and good parts pack. The figures may not have a good choice of faces and the torsos may be warped and the bicornes may have awesome printing but it all boils down to opinion. If there was a choice between 'fake' and 'real' for the same price I'm sure everyone would head to the LEGO store, but that is never going to happen, so everyone would have to choose between cheaper and higher quality. In my view nothing beats LEGO nor anything ever will, but just because I believe that doesn't mean I'll get all angry if someone says "Ooh, I think I'll grab me that enlighten eldorado fortress because I'll never afford own the real one and morions are rare these days." I can't really compare the quality as I don't own any enlighten bricks, but I'm sure only a serious LEGO enthusiast could tell the difference. It's pointless campaigning against these brands but as long as children can't tell them apart they'll sell as well as ever. I'm not promoting clone products, but a lot of us hate them before we've even seen them, as though we hope we hate them to prove a point . From what I can see Mr J. Lock is correct, that rowing boat looks the same as mine, as do the cannons, and anchor and... I could go on forever about how similar this seems. Without owning one myself I doubt I would ever know it wasn't the BSB. I would love to own a BSB and, despite what I said earlier, if the price difference was sufficiently large I might look to enlighten (it's a closer knock-off than m@G4b#C£s will ever be). This is my opinion on the matter, but as Mr 'Warhorse47' said: who cares about the quality if you're having fun!

This is a stunning creation and I love all the little details like the chandeliers and dino statues on the roof and on the walls! The bathroom is ingenious, I would have never though to use a life buoy as the toilet seat. The opening feature is awesome and the rooms are all lovely with the statues and details. I hope to see more!

None for me! If I remove the last digit I get: 1637-1: Basic Building Set, 3+. It's so old there are no pictures! If I remove the first digit I get: 6378-1: Shell Service Station Which is actually pretty cool.

Hi my decal-y friends! I was wondering if someone could make me some orc decals for my orc forces. Thanks to Daimar I have a fully fledged berserker and am working on an orc shaman. To complete this shaman I need a torso and face that looks more shaman-y. For the shaman's face please may I have a decal of the standard orc face but with a rag covering the eyes and maybe some markings or paint on the face or something. For the torso please may I have an open cloak/coat that reveals a scarred and marked (with some tattoos or paint maybe) but still muscular (but not too muscular) orc chest. Please could the cloak/coat itself be torn and battered with trinkets and charms around the neck (and please ensure it looks orc-y enough). These are just my base ideas and please design them differently if you want too. Thanks for any help!

Which way up do you put the hands on your minifigs?
Scorpiox replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Flat side up, other wise their hand is dislocated. Though the other way is better for binoculars or telescopes, its easier to get it up to the eye. Spears also can be held flat-side down for the impression of throwing. -

Good luck to all -
Hi my friends! I love the new POTC sets and I'm gonna get the captain's cabin. But anyway, I might be getting some for my birthday and I'm wondering which £20 set to ask for, Isla de Muerta or the Fountain of youth. They both look awesome and have beautiful figs! These are my reasons for both: Isla de Muerta: -Gold bars and coins -Elizibeth -Barbossa -Barbossa skellie -Cool chest and rocks Fountain of youth: -Blackbeard I wub him so much -Barbossa's torso and new bicorne -Waterfall sheet is cool -More skellies are always welcome! So guys, I'd love your opinion and any help is appreciated! P.S. Before you say it, both is not an option!

Such a lovely little set! The alien and the new gun are my highlights, the whole thing fits pretty well with SP3. Thanks for the great review!

A great entry! I love the positioning of the tentacles and the way the ship looks is stunning! The ship is a great creation in itself, imagine what it looked like before... I don't mind the Kraken's head being there, as you see it partially in this scene (When someone is dropped into the sea you sea it's head appear to eat them, also when Will is thrown underwater he sees it). Good luck in the contest!

Well done cb4! It's really nice to see a brick-built hull, especially one as good as yours. The overall shape is beautiful, and the cannons are good as well. It does look a bit weird with the gunports up though, and the cannons should have brown wheels. Keep it up and I can't wait for the next update!

Gold! I love the way the treasure is spread about and I see some special elements such as the Hovitos Idol and golden Brick Daddy's head. The 1x1 round plates as water is ingenous, but It does look a bit like a rushing river rather than a stream; but that is minor. To Improve it you could maybe add a red plume to simulate the breaking of the curse with Wil's blood. Good luck!

Thanks guys! These are just what I wanted, I'll be printing these and making a new sail in no time!
-
Thanks for this wonderfull review of one of my favourite sets of all time. I am lucky enough to own both this and the 6271 Imperial flagship and this is clearly the better ship. It is wider, has a cabin, has a figure head and many other awesome features. All the flaws can easily be corrected, I'm working on some cabin doors and (when I have a scan of the bluecoat emblem) I will soon add another sail with the bluecoat emblem on! This review really puts the Clipper's beauty in perspective and the exellent photography gives people an idea of what she is like in person. Nice to see a ship other than the new IF and the QAR getting some attention.

Hi guys! I have searched all the indexes and have found no scans or images of the bluecoat emblem. I plan on making some more sails for my Caribbean Clipper (Now improved with changed rigging and new features! ) and would like to not have them all as plain blue and white stripes. The sort of thing I'd like are a bluecoat version of the sails in the 6271 Imperial flagship (Bluecoat emblem on white background). To make these I require a scan of the bluecoat emblem. If it's not too much trouble please could someone make me an image (drawn like a decal or scanned, I don't mind which) of the bluecoat emblem, the whole thing with cross and everything as seen here. (Borrowed from TheBrickster's review) Thanks for any help!

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Introduction & Discussion
Scorpiox replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think I'm gonna try this out, sounds really fun! Working on my character at the moment. May I ask whether my character needs to wear Hogwarts uniform, or can it have any torso? -
Me... Want... That Davy Jones is pure gold, if he's anything like in the game I need him. They better release him in a cheaper set. If I got him I'd put him on a gold plinth saying 'Best minifigure EVAR!'. Maccus is awesome too, but he's kinda overshadowed by Davy. From the pic I can see his head is a normal one, but with the hammerhead but sat on like a hat. This is how he is in the game. I probs won't buy this set, I'll wait for the figs in another set. If necerssary I'll ebay Davy.
