  1. Picked up the Arctic Roller today as saw it for £24.99 in Smyths. Didn't feel so bad then for only getting 2 mini figs with it hah. Most of the TLM range was discounted so worth a look. A young girl was in there with her Dad and they were talking about the movie having obviously just seen it they then proceeded to grab one of each set........I was stood there thinking be my Dad too!! hah hah
  2. It's not that the TIE gets no love ......imo it's a great set decent figs and who doesn't love swooshing as you try and make that iconic sound ? The Resistance Transport for me was just the logical choice as it's being retired and in certain places can be nabbed at a good discount. Secondary to that but also important was that even if at first glance, to some, it may not appear a "good" set, myself included, it's a really well put together and good fun to build
  3. Based on the fact it's on its way out I'd go resistance troop transport. I would also say as someone who wasn't that keen on it and probably wouldn't have bought it myself (was a Christmas pressie) it's actually a fun and interesting build. Seems lots of folk here have same opinion from posts I've read. I'd definitely look for a good deal on it though in UK it's £29.99 direct from Lego soooo... ( I know you pay well over odds where you live but still worth a look ) Y-wing I have but waiting to build and Tie Striker was great and looks impressive and very swooshable. Only reason I'm not torn about which to buy is simple fact they will be round for a good while yet where as Resistance Transport wont
  4. Aye the better half she pretends to moan but she always comes good with the presents! Picked up the Droid Gunship 75042 from my local TRU they had it by the counter with some shelf wear and marked at £18!! Had to be done at that price

  6. Different strokes for different folks I guess but my 10188 certainly has pride of place in my Lego room. Cant say I was overly impressed with the quick retire and then rehash of it but I kind of understand some of TLG's reasoning even if I don't agree. Id be happy with the supposed Snowspeeder and obviously more than happy with a new UCS Falcon since I don't have either, long term collectors who have them understandably feel different
  7. Wow! Just Wow! Quite simply stunning.
  8. Think someone else said elsewhere on the forums that Lego are justifying this because of the fluctuating £....... flipside to Sainsbury's meanwhile and they had th AT-ST for £22.50 ? in store the other day presumably clearing space post Christmas
  9. Picked up the Imperial hover tank last night. For anyone in UK might be worth noting it was from Sainsbury's in store at £22.50 which felt like a billy bargain to me
  10. A lil late I'm sure but the TRU website now shows FO general polybag as being free with a spend of £15+ or to buy for £4.99. Happened to be in store today and asked and they had no stock nor did they know about the promo.
  11. Picked up Advanced Tie v A-wing as Smyths toys in UK have 20% off everything........ Was tempted to nab the Ewok Village but the budget said hell no :(. Hah
  12. Ooooo was about to say the same added Doc Oc Tentacle trap as well though as local store had 20% off ( rude not to really) agreed on being great sets all 3 are awesome and look great displayed together especially with Doc Oc ripping up the bridge
  13. I believe it's a Toys R Us "exclusive" so you won't find it unless being sold on by secondary seller at higher price. Obviously also available from Lego direct and £5 cheaper surprisingly
  14. 42 pages of: Lego is so lazy rehash of old DS Yes but you get new updated figures But it's $100 more such a rip off But inflation New DS sucks Old DS was fine as is just needed new figures what did you expect That's about it really ;)
  15. For sure! I have been back and forth for months, looking, thinking nope it's not gonna happen. Think she just had enough and grabbed it off the shelf and said we're buying it. Think my biggest hang up over it was I love how it looks but Slave 1 and Red 5 were much more complex and fun builds at the same price point.
  16. Finally caved and bought the UCS Tie Fighter........... Only because my better half made me of course :D
  17. I picked that up at Star Wars Celebration, got it signed by the designer too. Sits well with the microfighters I have and the books quite cool too
  18. Of course you're absolutely correct. The Zahn books are some of the best stuff from the EU as is SOTE but there was so much and a lot of it wasn't anywhere near that quality of storytelling, yet they all had to be tied together because they were canon. Now those great elements can be cherry picked and as Venkefedo says the essence of those characters is kept then it's all for the good. Add to that the fact rebels is set so far before the Timothy Zahn books means they can potentially develop the characters back story without "spoiling" the character we love. (Ok that didn't workout with the prequels I will grant you hah ) But for me it I see it as a positive if it means there is a much higher probability to have those characters or ships in Lego form.
  19. It was my my understanding and it certainly makes commercial sense that the Expanded universe was dropped from being canon, so that Disney have free reign to use the most iconic and "best bits". This way they can bring great characters and events to the mainstream but be free to use them without being tied to the massive bloat that was the expanded universe. As said there is very clearly a YT-2400 freighter featured twice in the new rebels trailer as is Grand Admiral Thrawn (eek and yay ) I would like to think that this means we are in with a good chance of getting a Outrider set at some point or at least a set that can very easily be MOC'd to create one
