  1. Thanks Guys! I am Soooo relieved there are more of you who liked it, because secretly, it made me cry with laughter (and maybe a little bit of shame ) when I was making it. I shall make another.... maybe Ron looking in the Mirror of El...DOOM. To DumblyA.S. I love the books am I am constantly screaming out "But what about this... that is going to completely wreck the next movie." or "THAT definitely wasn't in the book" or "They moved the Whomping Willow???" whilst watching the movies, much to the annoyance of Toodles (who hasn't read all the books) Hehe. I totally know where you are coming from... but I am addicted to the television so I can't help myself from watching them. To Badboy, thanks mate... I shall make another a.s.a.p. To WhiteFang, thank you for your comments, it is really nice to hear that my efforts are appreciated. I did try my hardest to make it as aesthetically pleasing and easy flowing as possible. To Eskallon, that is the exact reason I made this with HP Lego, I just love it and can't help playing with it. Hairy Harry Potter shall live on for another day.
  2. Oh it is immature! Extremely so. But it is probably not what you think. You'd have to hear it to understand I guess. Most times it is pronounced ayt. But innyhoo, does anyone have any comments or idea for further comics? Or shall i just leave it at this miserable offensive season 1 episode 1.
  3. Oh come now come now! I'm a massive Harry Potter fan. I LOVE LOVE LOVE The books, really love the movies and adore the Lego. But you have to be able to have fun with it too. I did actually make this cartoon because of what the book says, and I quote "It was only when he was back in bed that it struck Harry that Dumbledore might not have been quite truthful. But then, he thought, as he shoved Scabbers off his pillow, it had been quite a personal question." As for the Dumblyass, I did not mean it as a bad thing it is a person joke between Toodles and Myself and another friend. We like to put a$$ on the end of every other word or just a substitute for words entirely.
  4. Oh Shhh.... Don't tell anyone. I've got the attention span of a poodle. So I can't keep any story consistent. It's all fixed now though. Hehe. Glad you liked.
  5. The Adventures of Harry Potter. Season 1 - Episode 1 (two parts)
  6. BEWARE of large pictures and a little bit of naughtiness! (sorry! but it best this way) In this thread I'll be sharing some comics I have made, about a young wizard called Harry Potter and some of his friends who all attend 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry'. If you guys like this first one I shall endeavor to create more. The first comic is called "The Mirror of Erised" and is just a starting point for me... please leave lots of feedback and tell me what kind of Harry Potter scenarios and stories you would like to see made in comic form. Cheers! Cutlass_Iz
  7. Damn you for being so close! I just got my 'next review' from them in the mail about 5 minutes ago! They are all out of stock! i ordered about 5 small sets off the website and they emailed me saying they had NOT ONE of them left. Now their cheapest set (that I don't already have) is 29.99. Boo Hoo Hoo for me! and BOO for them.
  8. Are we going to get some more this year? Surely your exams must be over now... this is the fifth of the 4 - 5 months. So are we??? Are we??? It would be especially excellent if we were to have more. I find them most entertaining (and informative ).
  9. Thanks Guys... this set just looks so cool! and I can prove it. So Boo to whoever Polled badly , Haha! I had two different visitors in the last two days that saw all my small HP sets on display and they both only commented on the Knight Bus! and I quote "WOW!!!! Look at that cool bus!" to which I reply "Oh, yeah, Wow! how did that get here?" (not really, i'm just super sarcastic when people make odd comments) and the other comment was very similar. These two separate individuals have no interest in Lego and are both over the age of (I'll be nice) say... 35. And yet they were both Super Impressed with the look of this set. Done and Dusted. 10 out of 10 for you, my lovely little purple baby.
  10. I believe he meant are you allowed to Review without being in the Academy? and I believe the answer YG-49 is Yes! You can... The Academy is there for those who want to learn how to review sets in a more professional and informative way. The tutorials and teachers in here can have you pumping out high quality reviews in no time, I highly recommend it.
  11. When you are loading your photos onto photobucket choose the option that says Reduce to: 640 x 480 (Large) This will be the perfect size for this site! You can do the same thing in bulk uploader, and you can also resize the images to large after you have already uploaded them.
  12. Thank You svelty! I do love how many printed pieces these little sets have. It is such a treat, that was one of the biggest let downs in the last HP castle set they produced. Stickers everywhere. Boo! Thanks WhiteFang, I mix all my little sets with the castles as all the colors go well together, the Dobby minifig can go well in any of the HP sets and as for this set having yellow and the larger HP sets being fleshies. I had a brilliant idea of how to use my yellow harry in my fleshies castle. In the Philosophers Stone Harry finds a mirror called the Mirror of Erised so I have made a mirror frame and have a young (yellow) harry and his parents (yellow) in the frame, i figured this way i can get away with them being a different color. reflections/shadows/lighting and such. hehe. But the Lucius minifig not specifically HP looking so he can be used in any Town (or other) sets. I'm not such a fan of mixing yellow and flesh in the same display, so you could do as Sandy has done with her Hogwarts Dollhouse. You can make all the characters yellow and that works brilliantly as well. If you find it for a good price then i say go for it. It has some great pieces and two unique minifigs with tons of possibilities. Thanks Jim, you know Dobby probably was naked form behind. Haha! He was only wearing rags you know. Haha! It would have been nice to see TLG give him a back half like they are doing on so many minifigs nowadays.
  13. People that don't have titles get out!!! Haha! Just messing with ya, Prateek! I'm sure if you stick around long enough (like since 05???) you'll catch someones attention and be rewarded with a cheeky Title. BTW the way you say UNITE makes you look like you go for Manchester not Liverpool.
  14. It was 'Desperate Housewife', XwingYoda gave it to me, and he spelled it wrong to start with. Haha. But before that it was 'I'm a Lady' can't remember who gave me that one. It was because I didn't want to be in the EB Lady group when I first joined.
  15. No. Not really. It is just...that my last (and 2nd) title reminded me of what fun I had here at EB, back in the days of old, Me, Yoda, Ras, Hinkley, SW4J, Sinner, and all the rest... it was a blast and I was sorry to see it go. But I earned my new one! Hehe!
  16. Grrr argh! I can't afford it anymore! Boo Hoo Hoo hooooo. I actually checked my local Kmart yesterday and they have restocked... the Farm but no Castle to be seen anywhere. Thank You extremely very very much for thinking of me ClonePants but I can't.
  17. I've got a new one!
  18. Welcome 'Homer', you are doing splendidly so far. I hope you find what you are looking for in here. There is some great reviews and plenty of people to answer your questions. I will hopefully be visiting Bordeaux at the end of next year. It looks so beautiful.
  19. Although this set is very small, it certainly packs a punch! Containing a 'once only' release of a Dobby Minifig and a Lucius Malfoy Minifig and enough pieces and little details to make it a fun set to play with or display. Name: Dobby's Release Set Number: 4731 Theme: LEGO System Harry Potter Sub Theme: The Chamber of Secrets Year: 2002 Pieces: 70 Minifigs: 2 Price: AU$19.99 GBP 5.99 Recommended Age: 6 - 10 Resources:Peeron Brickset Photobucket The box: The front of the box. W 14.5 cm, L 14.5 cm, D 4.5 cm The back of the box, showing another possible build. In this case some kind of a throne from which Lucius can rule over Dobby. The booklet: The Cover of the booklet. Random page from booklet. This page show how to insert the Spells/Potion into the wall compartment. The Pieces: The contents of the Box, 1 large bag, 1 small bag, 1 loose base piece, 1 small poster, 1 instruction booklet, 1 cape in cardboard case. The Minifigures: Lucius Malfoy, front view, I love how his vest it so shiny, but did anyone notice how his face looks a little blurred, like it was hand drawn on? Dobby the House Elf, complete with ragged slave cloth and a very unhappy expression. Pieces of Interest: Lucius Malfoy's generic black cloak, I would have loved to see a Death Eater Hood on it. Harry Potter's sock is a printed piece, I love the details of the Gryffindor Crest. Here's Tom Riddle's diary. I love the print of the ink stains. I have only opened and closed the diary twice and look how bad the stress marks already are. Such a pity. The only problem here is, in order for it to fit the sock piece inside, the diary has to be of extraordinary size. In fact, it's almost as tall as Dobby. That would make it quite heavy for him I'm sure. Bag of Potions/Spells, Two blue magical books one is a spare, these pieces are also used in a Fairy Queen Magical Set from Belville. Poor Dobby. The Build: Start of the build. (note the secret compartment to hide the Blue Magical Book) A few more steps into the build and the lid for the secret compartment is done. Using an upward motion (follow the arrow) you can reveal what is hidden beneath. The second secret compartment, disguised as the wall and window ledge. Slide the wall backwards and reveal what is inside. The secret wall compartment is completely revealed. The Finished Product: The Final Verdict: Design: 8/10 For such a small set it has alot to look at, secret compartments, widows, accessories and a table. Varied colors and details make it well worth the few dollars you (originally) pay for it. Build: 8/10 Made in just a few minutes, this set is easy and fun to build. Playability: 8/10 With a few pieces to be used in MOC's or just to play around with the secret compartments and hidden socks (well, sock) this set is certainly not boring. Minifigures: 9/10 Dobby is such a cute little minifig with short legs and his little ragged torso and Lucius is a great Fig to add to any collection. His has a fancy Grey suit with a shiny shiny vest and a great angry face. Price: 10 /10 A great little set with a few good pieces, and two rare minifigs. Definitely worth it! The prices on all HP sets have gone up but I was still happy to pay that bit extra (compared to the original release price) for this set. Overall: 9/10 I think this set is cute, I love Dobby and I love that TLG made him, although he probably can't carry on into any other themes, He can be carried on into all the other HP sets. Lucius can be adapted into many other themes and he is YELLOW . Overall I am very happy with this set. Cheap, Rare and Cute.
  20. Set: Lego System Harry Potter 4755 Year: 2004 Pieces: 242 Minifigs: 2 Animals: 1 Dog, 1 Owl Price: US$ up to 119.00, GBP up to 69.99 Recommended Age: 7 - 12 Brickset Peeron Brickshelf Not to be confused with the 4695 Mini Knight Bus, this set containing 242 pieces (most of them being purple) from way back in 2004, still holds a great deal of charm. I've taken it out of storage, dusted the pieces off and am going to take you on a little journey as I put it all back together. HOLD ONTO SOMETHING! The Contents: The Instruction Booklet and a small poster! A random page of the instruction booklet. The pieces (excluding minifigs). The minifigs (Harry Potter and Stan Shunpike) and various pieces. The Build: A few pages in an we get to assemble the first bed, with lovely bright red sheets, comfy looking pillow and smooth pieces on the bottom so it can zoom up and down the bus. At this stage of the build there is a picture in the Booklet with Harry and all his things, as if to say this is a good place to stop if this is getting too hard, it looks good right? I can just imagine Harry's face when that turned up... "So where is everyone else going to fit?" Shall WE continue? I think so! Now we are onto the second level. Is there no such thing as a 1x3 black snot? If not then this would have been the perfect time for TLG to create one. Personally I think here looks very messy! But moving on... We've got to go rescue Harry! The top of the bus is done. And we are off on our way! Yes Stan, you should be looking at the road! Thank Goodness We got there in time or the extremely small Grey 'Grim' would have eaten him?!? Or something. Sleep tight Harry, don't let your trunk bite! An Overall View: The front view. The back view. The side view. Pieces of Interest: In this section I have included some close up shots of pieces I hadn't seen before, for example the classic swing car door (piece 3188), this is the only set where it is purple , the comfy pillows are a great little piece to add to any MOC, I am especially glad that they are printed on. (No Dreaded Sticker Sheets for Harry) Also two (2) Knight Bus signs, the shrunken head on the windscreen and a roll from Harry's trunk! (all printed ) The Minifigs: Harry Potter in his casual 'I just ran away from home' clothes. Stan Shunpike is his Knight Bus Conductor's uniform. The Animals: The Grin? What's the Grin? Not the Grin you idiot! The GRIM!!! Hedwig! Harry's white owl. What should have been: In this section I am showing the set as it should have been. Don't get me wrong I love this set (as you will see if you continue reading and get to the ratings) but, yes there is a BUT, I wasn't completely happy about a few little things. So, I have slightly modified the bus to make more like the movie as this is what TLG was basing it on also. I have added a driver (Ernie Prang) as Stan is the conductor, NOT the driver. I have also made the Grim a little more realistic. I think TLG copped out a bit here by using the ordinary grey police dog, instead of making it black and/or slightly larger. (Everyone would like a BIG black dog right?) Ernie Prang, the REAL driver of the Knight Bus! Stan Shunpike as Conductor not Driver, and a side exit for the bus! Conclusion: Minifigs: 8/10, Harry's casual clothes are nice, Stan's uniform is a nice match to the bus, the only problem is the obvious lack of Ernie. Parts: 9/10, This set is unique with it's abundance of purple pieces. If you love purple then it is a must. Design: 7/10, Unlike the movie, this set has a back (not side) door, and no stairs/ladder to the next levels. If this set was made a little bigger, it could have been more accurate. But for what it is, it looks very impressive and TALL Build: 9/10, A fairly uncomplicated build with enough black set in between so you don't bored from all the purple. Playability: 9/10, Anything with wheels automatically becomes easy to play with, this set is no exception. I love the way the beds glide up and down, and the sections come off for easy access to all levels. Price: Back in 2004 when this set came out the price was definitely reasonable, but with Harry Potter sets becoming more and more and more expensive, I am just glad I got it when I did. I'm not going to rate it out of 10 for price as it is not a fair assessment of the original intended price from TLG. Overall: 8/10, This set, while not essential for everybody, it is essential for any Harry Potter fan. The massive purple bus is a great little set for playing with, using the pieces for MOC's (rare color) or just for display. You can zoom around and rescue Harry any time you wish!
  21. Name: Shanghai Chase 7682 Theme: LEGO System Indiana Jones™ Year: 2009 Pieces: 244 Minifigs: 5 Price: AU$49.99, US$29, GBP 24.99 BrickShelf: for Larger Images Brickset Peeron This set includes Indiana Jones in a white tuxedo with either a brown Fedora or brown Hairpiece, Willie (Wilhelmina... I Know) in her Showgirl Outfit and a choice of Happy or Scared face, Short Round and two (2) Chinese Thug minifigures complete with pistols and black Fedoras. The two (2) vehicles in this set are Indy's car, and the Gangsters period black Sedan. The front and back of the box All the pieces to make up the cars, and the spare parts (including a spare red Tiara ) We'll start with the Gangsters car, a vintage black sedan. A very nice size, easily fits both sitting in the front with room for their guns, very large space in the back also. The door don't open ( ) But the roof comes off very easily so you can put them in. The back of the car is basic, with one small window. Moving on to Indy's car This car is pretty small, the canvas roof and extremely short windscreen make it difficult to fit the minifigs (Short Round with his non bendy legs) and the car. Also, there is no back... What back you say? The back of the car where Indy and Willie fall though the canvas into, and then Indy goes fishing around in Willie top for the anti-dote! THAT back I say! And where is it? Who would know... instead we get a little area in the back of the trunk to stand a minifig up in. Now for the Minifigs... the best part of this set. Personally, I am happy for get some different hair pieces from the new Indy sets but I cannot stand the color of Willie's hair! What is it? It doesn't look right at all, surely they could have used the sandy yellow color form the new City Minifig sets. Enough of that though, Willie is a great little fig with her two faces. (note, you can see some of her other mouth at the back of her head) Her costume is very detailed, with the gold and the beading. Very nice. I especially love the white tuxedo that Indy is wearing and the fact that he has the choice of Hat of Hair (although in the movie he doesn't put his hat on until the plane when he gets changed) and Short Round is very cute! I love getting kids/dwarf legs. The Gangsters look very good, with their matching suits, hats and guns. Playability: 8/10 - The cars and very nice and can be used in many ways in other Themes. (I'd like to use one of them in a Doctor Who MOC) The tuxedo piece, showgirl outfit and Short Rounds short legs are all great to carry over to other Themes. Design: 7/10 - This set has some interesting custom pieces to make up the cars, but the smallness of the back area and windscreen on Indy's car is just not cricket! Price: 7/10 - When it is all set up it really doesn't look like much for what you've paid for... you just have to be happy with the new Minifigs pieces if you aren't interested in the cars. Overall: 7/10 - This set is nice with some great little pieces, but I still think it is a little on the pricey side.
