  1. Welcome to EuroBricks, Lego Imperialist. In this list you can see how big pictures (about three quarters down the page), you can upload, according to your status. The most relevant parts for you to read, might be the "Special Groups and Tags" and "Normal Ranks". - It might be a good idea to read that thread, as well as the Member Guidelines.
  2. Really nice design. I also like the walls alot. - If you want to use the attic for a fourth room, you will have to raise the roof at least one brick to get enough height in the room for a minifig. With all the windows in the roof, you could make an atelier up there. Maybe it's a creative person living in the house...
  3. Olá Brig. Brick! Mine is yellow, so it doesn't really fit with the red boats. But I can use it for pirates (they don't have any ships - just two rafts and two boats) or - more likely - for some merchants. I'd like to make a trade post. Terve Captain Becker! The Fabuland boat and the boat from Captain Kragg's set are some what different, as you can see from the two links. Kragg's boat - which is shown in the original post of this thread - is a little bigger.
  4. Taking into account that LEGO nowadays produces all sorts of "non-standard" bricks, and that small electric engines most likely can be made cheaper than 20 years, I guess it shouldn't be a big problem to make a new monorail. Though it might not be compatible with the old ones. - But if TLG should wish to do it (is there a market?), that's the question.
  5. Time is running out. The end of the month is very close. CET (with summertime) it's 23:23. ME Models is based in Wisconsin, so a couple of hours yet. Excited to see what it can be. Can it fulfill the great expectations of people here...?
  6. My words exactly! It's an amazingly good idea. Und willkommen auf Eurobricks, Bernd!
  7. I really like your little sloop. Smart way to add the stern. I don't have that boat, but an older one from Fabuland. I have for some weeks had an idea to make it into a small ship/boat as well. Something like what you have done. I've been thinking to make it into a small merchant ship for a trade post. I'd like to make a small deck on the top, so there is space for some goods underneath. - When I find it - and make the MOC, I'll post it here. But until then, I hope other people will be sharing their small boats and ships. EDIT: Forgot the link to the Fabuland boat.
  8. ... If I had some tractors, I think, mayby I'd call the manufacturer Letra - Lego(land) Tractor(s). cimddwc, now you might have some names here for inspiration
  9. Thanks for the information on M-Tron. I'm not into space LEGO, so it was just a bit of information, I got from Brickipedia. It's interesting, as the same model can have so different names in different languages. It's a little hard to figure out. I like your idea, it's a company making agricultural machines. But then the logo on the ship... There are some small differences between the two logos, though. On the ship, the logo consists of two wheat-shafts, including the straw - on the tractors there's only one - without the straw. But otherwise they look like each other. - Maybe the logo on the ship is from some kind of mill?
  10. Thanks to everybody. It's great to see all those company names. And thanks again to LT, now for further explaning the Australian brands. Ralph_S: Hehehe... funny little story behind the name. We see - and we don't see. Maelstrom, it could be interesting to hear what kind of technologies, MagnaTronics is working with. As far as I know, M-Tron is into mining mainly.
  11. Really an impressive MOC. From the size and interior of the rooms, I would say, it's a first class hotel. They are really spacious. And I like the linen room. Nice little detail It would be a joy to work there.
  12. A city indeed needs a supermarket. And this is a great start. What I immediately noticed is that the ATM/cash machines are positioned a little too high. The display is four bricks up - which is relatively high for a five bricks high minifig. You can eventually put the mailboxes used on a plate on the floor. If you don't plan to put other base plates right next to the supermarket, you can also put them directly on the floor. I actually like the lime green in the fruits/veg area. It kind of breaks all the yellow. And lime green and yellow are two colours close to each other, so they fit each other. What about the trolley from 7567 Traveller? EDIT: BTW, I really like the use of M-Tron minifigs for the staff. Well thought!
  13. lightningtiger: Thanks for posting the pictures - and explaning the single brands in New Mannum. As a non-australian, I don't know the brands. Fuzzylegobricks: I'm looking forward to see the pictures of your companies. jonwil: Impressive name for a restaurant. But it could be a really interesting concept (also for a historic MOC ). I hope you'll post some pictures later. Ralph_S: Great models, you show there. - Regarding the name of the Indian restaurant, I have seen a restaurant named "Taste of South-East Asia". So it's used in real world - but yeah, rather generic. - I like the lion on the hanging sign
  14. It's really a joy to look through the pictures of the small town New Mannum. All those details, both in the architechure as well as in the interior. The interior in the hardware store is really smart. - I almost can get the feeling of how life is there.
  15. Really nice building and details. Somehow the light/colours of the pictures fit the theme.
  16. Really nice MOC. I for sure was not it doubt that it's a NSB passenger wagon. I look forward to see the final result.
  17. Hi 'DHCP1121' Nice little city, you have got there - with a nice selection of companies. I especially like the way, you have written the name of Marshall Fields on the pavement I also like the way, the red line on the roof of the Shell station has been made. - And I can see, your car rental has got cars
  18. Several companies exist in Lego City. Some of them have a logo - like the black plane on top of the flag of Legoland in the first airport. But almost none of them actually have got a name. Obviously this is because it's hard to find a name that fits all markets. One of the few exceptions is Octan - and then, of course, real world companies, like Shell or DB (German railway company). Although I have more official sets including some kind of logo for a company, I only remember I have named a few of those companies: - The airline from from the 6392 Airport which I named Legoair - The airline operating the 6368 Jet Airliner which I called Jetair - The railway company behind the logo launched in 1991 (like on the 4558 Metroliner), I called Legolands Jernbaner (Danish for Legoland's Railways) - even though I just got my first train in 2010. Besides that, I named a company 'Legoland Airlines' (but just on drawings, never in MOC), another one 'Redair' (both on drawings as well as a small MOC). A car rental company was named 'Rival Rent-a-Car' after "the competitor" in a magazine advertisement from... I think it was Avis or Hertz. They had a counter in my airports, but actually I never built a single car for them Now it could be interesting to hear if people do/did name the companies (transport/restaurants etc.) in their Lego City.
  19. Hi Voijste Thanks for uploading those pictures with the sets arranged as one entity. As late as yesterday, I read this thread, as I was interested in the topic as well. The only thing by arranging it this way is that you loose quite a bit of the available space at the outer part of the trading post's jetty. But hey, it's a detail that can be taken care of. Nice little selection of the good, old Pirates, you have got there. You should make a little MOC, incorporating your models. It would be nice to see, how a small society around Fort Eldorado and the trading post could look like
  20. Interesting to see some MODs for the 7938. I'm also thinking about some MODs for the train, including an on-board restaurant. - It is a little hard though, to see the interior of your restaurant car. Is it possible, you could upload an additional picture of that? And remember: What the train is designed for is up to you. It resembles some real world local trains, like the Talent, but why can't it be a new intercity train for Legoland?
  21. I'm singing my Caribbean Blue...s
  22. Imperial. When I played as a child, I was always Governor Broadside, and my friend was Lieutenant de Martinet (as he was called in the Danish version of the pirates comic).
  23. Personally, I'd go for the Eldorado Fortress which I have got myself. A very nice looking construction - which includes all the above mentioned nice features. But I must admit that the Imperial Trading Post is very nice indeed. It gives me some ideas how to expand the Eldorado Fortress with a small harbour. When it comes to the pirates, I must admit, I'm biased (again), as I have got the 6270 Forbidden Island. I like the idea of the pirates hiding in the jungle (well, I have to put some more plants on the island ).
  24. As people agree on here, those are some really interesting designs. I especially like the villages and the first mine. A lot of the clothes and wigs are certainly also nice. I really like the white wigs from Europa. Thay would fit perfectly to the pirates sets. We should make a lobby group at TLG
  25. For people who are worried about the size of the wind turbine, remember that modern wind turbines are tall. Vestas, for example, delivers a wind turbine with a rotor diameter of 90 m. The hub height can vary from 65-105 m, giving a total height of 110-150 m. Much higher than most buildings. Of course a wind turbine does not belong in a city, but in the country side or off shore. That might be a challenge for most of us with limited space for our cities though. I got the set last Christmas from Santa Claus. For some reason, my wife got a little sad when I told her, LEGO had it on sale for 50% the price. Maybe she's worried about Santa Claus' economy. He could have saved quite an amount of money waiting for the sale I like the wind turbine, and look forward to find a spot for it when I'm going to build my city. I might MOD the truck a little. Got some ideas from earlier replies here.
