Happy birthday! Have a great one

Typical. I was hoping we'd seen the last of these scumbags here, but then they pop up again. And so the whole mess starts over again.

Who will come to Eurobricks Event 2011?
Quarryman replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Seeing as you haven't announced any other dates I assume we're still set for 2-5 of June. So yes, I'll be there. -

Yes, I fully agree that it's not a major problem, and thus not worth spending a great deal of time to combat, especially considering that "I'd say you're the only person on the boards who could be bothered looking at that sort of a solution for it :P" (quoting another member of the staff) -

The 4xxx part wasn't, but 4[0-1]xx/4919 was. flickr.*4[0-1][0-9][0-9]/4919.*_m\.jpg Matches all of them, no false positives, at least none that showed up in my tests. As for combating it the obvious way would indeed be to avoid Flickr. Or spread them over a few more than one Flickr account and don't upload all at the same time. (I strongly suspect that the number starting with 4919... is the image's primary key, and with the amount of uploads on Flickr that number will increase a lot over just a few days). Then again, this is a question of what you want to achieve, is the goal to stop everyone from using brute force, or to make the brute force approach tedious enough not to make it worthwhile? And of course how much time and energy you want to spend. That being said, I really enjoyed this hunt, and congratulations to all the winners. And I do hope there will be another in the future. -

Well, next time you should have properly randomized filenames and/or URLs to make the brute-force approach more difficult, this time they all matched a simple regular expression. Apart from that I think the clues were pretty good, a nice mix of difficult and not so difficult. My personal favourite was obviously the witch, especially considering who it was placed next to -
Well, PM received, Detective Quinn Man present and ready to play. And my avatar should be up-to-date as well.
-
A bit late here, but anyway, happy birthday to all of you
-
That's great! Looking forward to seeing you there!
-
Just like it's always Quinn for me.. Anyway, I'm here, and I will be after I receive the PM as well.

And finally, PM sent. Was being quite stupid while looking for the explorer and ended up spending way too long to find it. -
Yes, I'd like to play And I've played in most mafia games on Eurobricks. And hosted one.

Really liked the mime clue, seemed a bit vague at first, but it didn't take long at all, think it was in the fourth topic I checked. So that's 15/16 then, unfortunately the one I'm missing is the last one, so not going to get all before Friday it seems -
The backdrop is the red light district (yes, we had working red lights for World of Lights) in our Wild West layout And you can probably find bigger/more detailed pics in his Brickworld 2010 set on Flickr.

The weightlifter clue didn't mean anything to me, but luckily I had already found him (and when I had the clue explained to me it made sense, though it is a difficult one if you don't happen to know what it's referring to). -

Pharaoh was easy, found him without the clue So 14/16 figs then, thought I had a clever idea about the mime, but alas I was wrong. -
Yayness, would be awesome if you could make it Svelte In fact, all available data suggest that all events with aussies are good events, as was also proven at Brickworld this year.

The reverse is more true (though there are several exceptions), most staff are former fellows.

Not sure how I managed to miss the spartan on my first attempt, but at least I got it now. This is great fun (and the witch was really easy ) -

Both the third and the fourth ones were really easy. Struggled quite a bit with the second one, mostly because I couldn't manage to make the search function work the way I wanted it to (once I stopped using the search function it became much easier) So, it's going to be fun to see what tomorrow will bring. -
From what I can see on the map the closest airport by far (with "by far" being somewhat relative ) is Heathrow which is about 20km (driving distance according to Google Maps) away.
-
A bit close to Brickworld 2011, but getting away with only taking out one day of leave from work more than makes up for that. Besides, then I can buy less at the Event and save money for BW So yes, the dates are fine, time to start looking for plane tickets then.

Pay-day and 70% off closing sale isn't a good combination (or an excellent combination depending on how you look at it ) What was left of LEGO in the toystore was pretty crap though, but ending up dragging home two 8039 Venator cruisers, one 8075 Neptune Carrier, one 8061 Gateway of the Squid, and one 8015 Assasin Droids battleback.
