Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It's good to see that there were good reasons for my failed attempts, I was at a time quite annoyed because I felt you weren't letting me kill anyone (which it turns out only was true for Fernando, and that has already been discussed.) I do believe that comment made my day -

Choose your favourite Castle Barding!
Quarryman replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
After a bit of difficult considerations (which included going to Bricklink for higher resolution pictures ) I ended up voting for number 4. Of course nostalgia is a part of it, it was the only barding I had as a kid. But it's also one of the most beautiful bardings in the poll, in my opinion only rivaled by the two fright knights bardings. The lion design is better than the dragon design though (sorry Dragonator ), so in the end the lion came out on top. Roar. -
Number 6 on the Beaufort scale, I suppose.

Copmike, it's great to hear that you are coming, looking forward to meeting you guys again! That would have been really cool. Question is though, how many modules can we get together? I should be able to bring 2, maybe 3. Bah, nothing is far in Denmark So that excuse just isn't good enough (229 km – about 2 hours 25 mins, according to Google Maps)

Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh, and I'd like to know what people's night actions were, and who they targeted with them. (if people are willing to reveal that, of course) As everyone knows I could kill at night. Night 1 I targeted Alexander / ImperialShadows, that failed Night 2 I didn't target anyone Night 3 I also didn't target anyone Night 4 I targeted Hernan / stash2sixx, that failed (I wonder why, TinyPies?) Night 5 I targeted Charles / Hinckley, that succeeded, and hilarity ensued Night 6 I targeted Isabella / kill will, that also succeeded I just have to quote my final night action PM though: (seriously TinyPies, you did a great job, no hard feelings ) -
Very nice! Apart from what others have mentioned as possible improvements, if you have (or could get hold of) the mandrake plant head from Hogwarts Castle 3rd edition (5378) I think that would work very well for or more of the kids, they should look more scared in my opinion. But still, it's a great idea for the chivalry concept.

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Uhm, no. I don't have my bricks available (I'm in the process of moving from one part of the country to another), I have way too much to do at work to host a mafia game at the moment, (playing one I can manage though ) and I still need to order quite a few things from Bricklink to be able to pull this off in a way I'm satisfied with. So I'm sorry, but I can't do it at the moment. No idea why TinyPies put me on top of the list, I didn't announce a planned date because I honestly had no idea when I would be ready. Guess I should have been more clear about that. The way things are now I think late February/early March would be the earliest I could do it, but that is still unclear, mainly due to work. And btw, it's "Mystery Spaceship" (a spacecraft could be anything really, but a spaceship should give the right associations). -
Mystery Manor - Index and Disscusion Thread

What really annoys me about the cryptogram is that when I tried decoding it just before going to bed last night I didn't see that 'g' could be 'l', (that 'b' was either 'o' or 'e', and most likely 'o' was pretty much a given, and also that one of the three letter blocks were 'the'), which I think was the key here. Though I probably wouldn't have thought about 'chimney' being the long word anyway. Still, loved the cryptogram, great to see that there is stuff in the game that can be entertainment for the rest of us (I hope there will be more) -
Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion

Love you too (don't think killing someone in a mafia game will ever be this fun again ) And I really wish I could have killed Dragonator, ImperialScouts, ImperialShadows, and WhiteFang (they now have a winning streak, which thus threatens my winning streak ) I agree, if Fernando wasn't killable I should have just tried and failed, like with Alexander (who protected him btw?) and Hernan. That being said, I have to add that I actually enjoyed killing you, mainly due to you overreacting so much Bah, Isabella was hardly contributing, which was my primary reason for killing her. Though, I would have preferred the game to end once we had chased away the paranoid inquisitor that was leading us astray. Oh well, we did get a majority for the game host the next day, don't think I've ever seen that before And now, something else: (my night 5 night action discussion with TinyPies, I said I was going to quote that once the game was over :skull:) I don't think I'll let you kill him just yet, please choose someone else to kill. Thanks, TinyPiesRUs I am so quoting that PM once the game is over. But oh well. Guess I'll kill Isabella / kill will instead then, if only because he's quite inactive. Isabella it is! Uhm, if I'm allowed to change my decision, I'd like to kill Charles / Hinckley instead (he seems to have a death wish, might as well grant him it. ) So you see Hinckley, you were actually quite far down the list -
Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion

Great. What an anticlimax. An interesting idea, but not something I'd suggest others try out considering the amount of unhappiness it caused. That being said, a mafia game doesn't have to be the usual "X bad guys, Y good guys, outnumber the other side to win"-variety. So kudos to you for daring to try out something new, -
I almost find it a bit scary that you pay so close attention But yes, I'm prepared to wait for Tiny Pies to enlighten us. I'm busy with preparing to move anyway. finished mucking around university for the time being.
-
Waiting for the day to end so we can find out whether this "not killing anyone" is a good idea or not. As it is we have no information at all, except the general feeling that hitting the bull's eye 6 times out of 6 is highly unlikely, in fact close to impossible. And I'm pretty sure that if I target someone at random next night they will also turn out to be a witch. And so on and so forth. And that just doesn't cut it.

Pretty certain it was 6270 Forbidden Island, which if I'm not mistaken I got for my birthday in 1989, but it may have been in 1990. I do know that I got the 6285 Black Seas Barracuda for Christmas in 1990 though, and I had had 6270 for a long time before that. (at least it seemed like a long time, but everything does when you're 7 years old )
-
Pretty sure we can't vote him off, but getting a majority of votes for him at least sends a strong signal that we're not quite happy.
-
Not exactly bought, but today I finally received my 10185 Green Grocer and 10190 Market Street, which I got for helping out at Barnas Drømmeby back in October.
-
Actually, we don't. There are 14 of us left now, so 8 is a majority. Now Tiny Pius, do you have anything to say?
-
Doh, yes, I forgot to mention that, I will of course abstain from killing anyone this coming night. Vote: Tiny Pius (Game Host) (it's worth a try at least)
-
Seems like the only reason we have for believing that everyone I've killed were witches was only because the inquisitor told us so. Which is the same reason we have for believing that anyone that has been killed is a bad guy. I'm willing to try the not-voting tactic today.
-
I'm afraid voting is closed for today, you have to wait until tomorrow to vote for her. (I find it strange that morning hasn't come already though, seems like this night has lasted forever...) Anyway, I think tomorrow is going to be interesting, without a paranoid inquisitor to lead us astray.
-
Is that a promise?
-
Bah, all we need are some really big scales and a duck. (or as one of the Beagle Boys put it: "You not only weigh as much as a duck, you are a duck." Don't think anyone here is a duck though, so I guess we have to go through the whole weighing process)
-
Let's burn him, just in case.
-
It seems to have improved at least, guess it was the new gunpowder Mustafa sold me that did the trick. :pir-skull:
-
You know, you almost made me regret killing him there. But, as killing him has lead to all sorts of fun, I just can't regret it. I agree though, he probably does need a bit of therapy. (Or a good whacking with an icecube tray )
