  1. Picked up the Death star and TIE interceptor 9676, Endor battle pack 9489 and the Elite Clone trooper battle pack 9488 today
  2. As a treat for myself after resigning from my job I bought the new TIE fighter and the new Y-Wing, to go with the new X-Wing I got the other week :)
  3. As much as I want to see these new sets the speculation and rumour has gone to another level this rabid speculation is taking the shine off :( I'm keeping out 'till they get officially announced and shown to us.
  4. The dino sets have the dinos, without them they aren't worth a look, how many times can they re use them in other sets before it becomes another Rex set or Trike set with a little buggy and a mini figure, as cool as the dinos are they are a large part of the set but are very much a non build-able item, the AQ sets had more design and appeal to them, they weren't based around one piece in the set like the dino ones are, I hope Lego have something up their sleeve but from the sets we've seen so far it's looking a bit light and padded around the dinos themselves. As for the Pharos sets, I only know one was a money box, couldn't tell you of any others, very much like Atlantis sets, they have a big presence in the sales, always a bad sign of slow sales. :(
  5. I'd be surprised if Alien Conquest didn't return, it was a great theme, was well received and has plenty of possibility for expansion. Pharos Quest didn't appeal to me and I can't remember seeing it at all, I think it was marketed to fail the way it was hidden away on the Lego site. the Monsters theme looks like it could be interesting but I'm still undecided, some of the early spy pics look a bit underwhelming to say the least, decent minifigs should be all but guaranteed. Dino/2012 theme is great, but seems to be based entirely on the dinos, with them removed the sets wouldn't rate a second look and I think it's headed for a short run. I do think that Lego has really got a good team working on designs though, some brilliant ideas of late, really on form, good work Lego :D
  6. Superb set and review, the instructions and stickers seem to be getting put in a cardboard backed bag quite inconsistently, it's very annoying, can't count the amount of times that I've had to request additional sticker sheets to replace the bent and peeled of in the box ones :( I think the T-Rex trapper had them bagged but not my Triceratops set. :/
  7. Thanks for the review, it's another superb looking set, Lego have really got the designs right this last couple of years, it's on my next order :D
  8. I've always wondered what the reasoning was behind the hidden bricks colour choices is, makes sense :) Oh and superb review, was a bit underwhelmed at the idea of another X-Wing but it does seem to be a must buy :)
  9. I got my boxx of Lego this morning from S@H :D 5885 Triceratops, 5886 Tyrannosaurus Rex and a couple of the new police sets, 4437 and 4438. The dinosaurs are superb! Stickers on the Rex set for the chopper, not looked at the trike set other than the dino yet, and I thought Alien Conquest couldn't be bettered!! very happy :D
  10. Has anyone seen these in the UK yet? It's going to be a long wait for them :D
  11. I thought last year with its Alien Conquest and other superb sets was a tuff one to follow, wow, Dino 2012 looks amazing, I can't wait to get my hands on these :D Ace review, love it.
  12. Has there been any word on Alien Conquest returning for 2012?
  13. I got this set just a couple of days ago, I liked the looks of it as soon I saw the blurry pictures earlier in the year, the set seems to have been a bit harshly received from what I've seen on the net, it's not a big set and the tag Extreme might have raised expectations beyond what it delivers but it's still a great looking set. Front suspension is a single spring and is surprisingly good, I was planning on making some mods to it and this was the first thing I was going to change, after having it built now and seeing it work, I'm quite happy to leave it as it is, but the rear suspension could do with being independent though. The inside is crying out for a PF battery box and remote receiver set up and I think it would be a pretty easy job of making it remote control. It's a great set.
  14. Superb, i was thinking of doing something similar to this with 8081, but this looks amazing, I want one
  15. Here yo go, its got the original wheels on it now though, but in black, found a better way than paying £20 for a set from bricklink too.
  16. 8868 also had a compressor, its system worked better than the 8110 set too, nowhere near as snappy as the unimog, convenience doesn't come into it, it would just make the pneumatics more controllable. Thank much for input
  17. I have both sets and although 8868 hasn't been built for a bit I remember how it operated and I'd say I preferred its operation to 8110s pneumatics, the Unimog's pneumatic operation is a bit too all of a sudden and nowhere near as controllable as I'd like, and the switches on the side are a bit too confusing (its been built 24 hours and I still cant remember what goes where to get it to work) I think a simple old pneumatic hand pump would improve that easily. The linear actuator operation of 8043 has spoiled me I think, very controllable and really puts pneumatics in the shade.
  18. I loved the remote control excavator, I'd like another remote control vehicle but preferably with wheels, some sort of off roader.
  19. Finished, it's superb, no issues but I modded the steering pins anyway, wider tyres didn't help though
  20. I've just got my Unimog and I'm up to step 3 in book 1 page 20 where these gears are first used, my set doesn't have the new style "Spline-less" gears, should I just use the splined ones or do I need a service pack and get the ones shown in the instructions? If someone could let me know please, I'm holding off building any further 'till I find out
  21. I got mine the other day, they're superb, I didn't get the full set just the ones I liked.
  22. Lady Liberty looks great, I'd like a better toga for ther lower half though, but still, superb.
  23. Good God, its superb! I love it.
