We've been told everything possible already though. Some people out there will no doubt know every detail of the August sets but it's just not available to go public yet. I can't wait to find out either but we'll just have to wait and see. I'd love those first suggestions but I think the post-2018 remakes are much more likely given the hints we've had. I'm feeling inclined to agree with others about Gringotts being the $120 set. It's good timing to be on the shelves at the same time as Diagon Alley, a PS stone themed set makes sense as an anniversary remake of the first Gringotts set, and the $120 price point seems about right given it would be slightly larger than a quarter of Diagon Alley but wouldn't include the dragon. This would then allow the 2021 DH wave (which I am still expecting) to give us the dragon and vaults.

As far as I'm concerned, we've been told that the sets will be both unpredictable and very disappointing. Also that those who don't like the June wave will be especially disappointed. So it's likely also anniversary related and certainly not a follow on of the 2018-2020 sets. In any case, those in the know have told us what they can and most of us are thankful that we've been able to drastically lower our expectations. There's no point in asking for more info or expecting any news soon, I'd honestly prefer if we were able to spread the discussions out until August rather than know everything now and have an agonising wait (although it would be helpful to rule some purchases out for budgeting reasons). In terms of the June wave, what minifigs are people most happy about getting? For me it's Colin Creevey first as a significant character we've never had before, then Professor Sinistra as I'm looking forward to having her occupy the top of the Astronomy Tower, then Gilderoy Lockhart because I think the new outfit will be a standout. I'm fearful that we'll get JFF in a Hufflepuff jumper with badge to complete the set from the Hogwarts Moments series, when really it would be nice to get all the students in their respective versions of house robes (the same as Draco's DA torso).

Every time I see this angle it's so satisfying how close the actual set is. The ordering and colouring (bar the slightly bright pink, but we've discussed that to death), the angle of the QQS window, Florian Fortescue's canopy, the paved edges and cobbled middle of the street, the sign posts, window shapes, flying snowy owl... the list goes on. That raises a question - is the snowy owl Hedwig? After all Hedwig appears for the first time later in a cage. If not then we have our first non-Hedwig snowy owl in lego, a whole new character! ...shame about the reprint smh.

What June sets are people most excited to get full pictures of? My order is this: 4. Fluffy's corridor. We already know what Fluffy looks like and I'm not excited about the figs or interior of the build. 3. Girl's bathroom. I'm looking forward to seeing how the sinks move, what Hermione's cat head looks like and finally seeing Crabbe and Goyle. 2. Hogsmeade. I'm quite looking forward to seeing the figs but very excited to see the interiors. 1. Hogwarts Castle/CoS. So many unknowns here, does the cliff open for the basilisk to enter the chamber? What do any of the interiors feature? Is there a slide? What does the CoS look like? Mostly I can't wait to see what is for me by far the most exciting minifigure line up.

It's occurred to me that this Draco (from Diagon Alley) is not accurate to the actual appearance in the films where Draco wears a jumper - this was mentioned on last year's forum as it was an odd inconsistency compared to the trio's Gryffindor torsos. I think this has to be because they had the girl's bathroom set in mind, the torso is perfect for Crabbe and Goyle's robes:

What do people think about the olive green colour choice for the basilisk (assuming that's what it ends up being)? I don't mind it but part of me feels that sand green, dark green or dark bluish grey might have been more accurate. If there was a dark teal colour then that would have done a nice job.

I don't deny that there was outcry! But I think a lot of us are thankful for being nudged to set more modest expectations. With regards to the great hall - I'm personally still not a fan, but I agree that people will warm up to these a lot. The full sets with stickers and new minifigs and creatures will give us all plenty to enjoy.
-
No need for the apology! It's all part of the fun as far as I'm concerned. A curveball like we've had with this year's sets is a magnet for overreaction. I've got to the point now of just being intrigued about what August could bring, I'm sure it'll be more anniversary sets but it's exciting to have no real idea!

I think it's hard to judge tone/intention on here. I think @Guyon2002 was simply advising us to temper our expectations (which I'm personally happy about as it will likely lessen any disappointment), its been some of the users who have been dramatic about it in my opinion. And it's not up to @Guyon2002 what can or can't be shared, this is up to whoever the source is and there's no need to get any negative attention from Lego.

I think it's clear these sets are a one off. The green roofs, stackable modules, gold figs, throwback scenes etc. are all because it's an anniversary year. But it's surely a one-off for the 20th anniversary and we'll get the DH sets next year. Personally I quite like the change of pace this year, it's a fun idea and they've used it to fill in the gaps where we missed certain sets (e.g. Chamber of secrets) which would not be at all compatible with the 2018-2020 sets.

It looks like this drill piece is used in sand green for turrets... not too sure how that'll look if true.
-
Not sure whether it's been mentioned before but the pale blue bathroom floor is presumably an allusion to the flooding which is nice. And, more interestingly, there are multiple floor plates as seen from the side which perhaps allows there to be a hole beneath the sinks, otherwise a single 8x16 plate would surely have been used.

I have a feeling this opinion won't go down well! I'm very surprised that some people seem to have abandoned all hope in this theme. It's certainly true that the June wave looks more "playable" and less film accurate than the 2019 and 2020 waves and the August wave looks certain to continue this trend with more anniversary related sets. I personally don't like how blocky the builds are and repeated use of panels. However, I get a huge nostalgia rush from the references to the original sets and so do many others in this thread. It's not perfect by any means but these two waves are almost certainly a one-off: the green roofs, stackable sets, subject matter, etc. is all a throwback to the early sets and will all, I'm sure, be unique to the anniversary sets this year. Lego knows what everyone wants, the DH sets/Gringotts will come just as the student accessory pack, Astronomy Tower, missing minifigures, Burrow, etc have all been ticked off our previous wishlists. This wave is good timing for Lego, as a few sets (great hall, hogwarts express, quidditch) come off the shelves they are immediately replaced by this wave. Then normal service will resume. This is not the apocalypse! Having said that, I understand the disappointment - but at the very least this year will be a year of bricklinking a few cool minifigs and saving money for future sets.
-
I wouldn't worry, it's only a 20th anniversary for one year. That's why we're getting a throwback and I'm just going to enjoy it for what it is. For the record, I don't think 2018 was remotely movie accurate compared to the 2019-2020 sets. The great hall was squat and misshapen, the staircase tower didn't have it's most recognisable feature, the basilisk looked horrendous, the whomping willow set wasn't like anything in the films, the King's Cross just gave a hint of the actual location, etc. Good sets mostly but not altogether accurate. I feel next year will be a return to form, DH sets are very desirable and there are plenty of child appropriate scenes to be made. 851 pieces, page 1 of this forum has been helpfully kept updated.

It looks like the balcony, top tower room and roof can all be removed separately. So there are 9 sections of the Hogwarts Castle set, 5 of the forbidden corridor and 1 of the bathroom. I can already see some "cursed" combinations of the great hall beneath the bathroom beneath the chamber of secrets beneath two pointy roof sections...

Try #legoleaks on Instagram (sort by recent). I don't think it's been mentioned but there was talk last year about the Leaky Cauldron being unlikely to be made as it's a pub. The new Hogsmeade set surely shows that a Leaky Cauldron set could be in the pipeline along with Gringotts, the two would neatly bookend the Diagon Ally set from last year. Though perhaps now is not the time for wishful thinking...

What walls sorry? If it was the pearl gold I mentioned then that was referring to the pieces at the top of the tower and the balcony in the Fluffy set. Ah ok, thanks @Metanoios91. I wasn't aware of that piece. I think the images I've found might be lower resolution that some others as it is still hard to make that detail out and I couldn't tell what Dumbledore's hairpiece was. With apologies, if anyone has less blurry images could I please add my name to those requesting DMs! Thanks in advance.

I like raisins to be fair, maybe this August wave won't be so bad after all! I display the green roofs (of a modified 4842 Hogwarts) and grey roofs together and it works surprisingly well. This main difference between these sets and the 2018-2020 ones is that they are simpler with much more panels, gaps in the walls, less film accurate and the pearl gold will clash in my opinion. On a slightly related note I'm getting very confused by the top window in the tower, at first I thought this was 6 studs wide but now it looks to be four studs wide and 2 studs away from the wall with big black gaps at the side. Hopefully means that this feature is very much unfinished as there's not much point in a window that is separate from the wall!

I think @Guyon2002 and @Falconfan1414 have told us everything they can. In terms of preparation I think it's safe to say we should temper our high expectations. I think @Nunomi has made a pretty good guess with their list, I'd maybe amend slightly: 76395 - $29.99 - Remake of Troll in the bathroom (I know this was also in a bathroom but think we could get this without much building like the Grawp set) 76394 - $39.99 - Remake of 4704 - The Room of the Winged + Final Challenge (agree this is likely) 76392 - $59.99 - Remake of Hagrid's Hut + Dark Forest. Like the detention of Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco in the first movie. (also agree with this and would add that we'd get Fang and Norbert) 76393 - $119.99 - Motorised Hogwarts Express with Hogsmeade station/Durmstrang Ship and second task (both would make sense as to why the price per piece would be so high) 76391 - $249.99 - This is the tricky one, I don't think this'll be another Hogwarts build or something new altogether like Ministry of Magic or Grimmauld place. Perhaps this could be the Shrieking Shack and another couple of Hogsmeade buildings, or a large buildable object (broom or another Art set). I still have a modicum of hope that we'll get Gringotts - it's the glaring omission at the moment and it makes sense for this to be a D2C in the $100 to $400 price range that is released shortly after Diagon Alley - as a D2C this is the most likely set to be separate from the anniversary wave after all.

I feel like that's a pretty safe assumption at this point - given the likelihood for our opinions to mirror the June wave. Few thoughts from me on these sets: - Girl's Bathroom. This looks ok, pretty lacklustre build but some stickers or mirrors etc would help. Figs are the important part and will likely justify the cost, I suspect the butterbeer will be recoloured green. I'm hoping Hermione's head will fit underneath the new mould, we'll get a reused torso from Draco in Diagon Alley for all three figs, we'll get spare hairpieces for the characters and Harry and Ron will have new expressions. - Fluffy's Corridor. I like the sand green returning and don't mind the mix with nougat bricks - I have done similar in my modified 4842. Think it's worth noting the high saturation of the images and that the actual colours will be softer. What I don't like is the gold and I think this is going to be in the final version based on the top of the tower in the Hogwarts Castle set as those pieces are available in tan. Also think the set looks like a lazy, cheap build with lots of panels and no nice shaping. Fluffy looks okay and I hope the figs get new outfits before release. - Hogwarts Castle. Lots of positives and negatives, I didn't like the 2018 Great Hall set at all as it was far from accurate in shape of the hall and the tower, plus the basilisk was awful. In this new set the hall looks better proportioned and the Basilisk is improved. I'm really not keen on the tower though, it's blocky, far too square, the windows are ugly/not film accurate and I don't like the gold. Minifigs are good and it's nice to get a Chamber of Secrets. I hope that there will be a new window piece for the top of the great hall and the side build as these look ugly in the image. - Hogsmeade. This is much better, nicely detailed designs and good figure selection. I'm curious about the piece above Rosmerta. All in all I'm still excited and will likely pick most of these up on discount, I appreciate the anniversary throwback and think the gold figs will be a nice addition, plus the final sets will be much better than this. Main gripe is that these feel cheaper, I don't like the thin panels in the walls/rock. Think we'll get some DH sets next year but don't expect a significant Hogwarts expansion like the Bell Towers (boring monotonous build with no known interior, little exposure in the films and overall unremarkable), Gringotts will at least come some day I'm sure!

I'm just going to keep my excitement for the June wave. I suspect that there will be a complete change in the August wave relative to expectations, e.g. all anniversary sets or, much worse, no minifig scale sets. Perhaps we'll get a wave of "Magical objects" which gives us a buildable Firebolt, Locket, Triwizard Cup, Mandrake and Niffler. Who knows, but I think no minifigs is a reasonable guess given the information, they drive so much discussion here that obviously it would be a big disappointment, on the other hand there's a huge number of sets this year and I wouldn't mind being able to skip half of them pretty easily.

Thanks to those who had a go at picking a restricted wishlist. For anyone interested here are the most common choices in each category: - DH themed: 7x Gringotts; 2x Battle of Hogwarts, Lovegood House, Tent scene; 1x Ministry of Magic, Malfoy Manor. - Anniversary set: 3x Durmstrang Ship, Shrieking Shack, Philosophers stone chambers; 1x Gringotts, Gryffindor common room, Dumbledore's office, Snape's classroom, Hogwarts castle (OotP), Troll in bathroom. - Post 2018 set remake: 4x Quidditch, Hungarian Horntail; 2x Whomping willow, Forbidden forest; 1x Room of requirement, Newt's suitcase, Chamber of Secrets. - New set: 4x Grimmauld Place; 3x Ministry of Magic, Bell Towers; 2x Gringotts; 1x Gryffindor common room, Second task, HBP battle, Forbidden Forest (PS). - Buildable model: 4x Fawkes, Niffler; 2x Dobby; 1x Broomstick, Hogwarts Express, Basilisk, Norbert. - Golden figure: 8x Dumbledore; 2x Sirius; 1x Snape, McGonagall. A great selection! Although it sadly seems unlikely that we'll get Gringotts, Durmstrang Ship, Quidditch, Grimmauld Place, Fawkes and a Golden Dumbledore... If Lego's watching then at least they know what we all want!

I think you may be on to something here, although I have some doubts too: - The shark mould is a good overall shape but the mohican is part of the mould. - The cat head looks like it would be very close but the hair at the top is very different to Hermione's bushy hair in the film. - The werewolf head is not very reminiscent of the werewolf in the films which would probably be best in tan. - The mermaid tail is a definite good shout. I'm wondering whether we get a big nimbus 2000 on plinth with a small Harry and broom on the side.

Here's a question for those who fancy thinking about it. What would you choose for the five remaining sets (detailed below) given the following constraints: - only one set can be DH based, - one set must be an anniversary remake of a old (pre-2018) set inc golden fig, - one set most be a remake of a 2018 onwards set , - one set must be a non-minifig scale buildable model - one set must be a new non-DH scene Assign your choices to the sets below, I'm interested to see how exciting a wave would be possible given the above constrains. 76391 - $249.99 (D2C)76392 - $59.9976393 - $119.9976394 - $39.9976395 - $29.99 Happy Birthday @Falconfan1414!

I very much appreciate you quashing this worry! Although I'm a bit concerned that you didn't do the same for Lego Friends/Duplo/Dots crossovers...
