  1. From what I can tell the line up seems to show three kings (1st, 3rd, and last).
  2. "70589 Rock Roader" comes with 4 of the 71075 Round 1 x 1 90 Degree Elbow - No Stud In BLACK! This piece is needed to make the horns on the LOTR video game Balrog. Slow and discretely, LEGO is producing all parts we need to make are own http://cache.lego.co...1&fmt=png-alpha
  3. I never had any reason to get a VIP membership, as I don't usually buy directly from LEGO stores, until now. Thanks for the heads up
  4. I meant that as an argument for potential buyers out side of the LOTR fan base, so for me and you, I agree this doesn't apply.
  5. The market would be in that they would've been released in small inexpensive army builder sets. The fact you could buy detailed fantasy figures in a set that wasn't $30 but for $10-$15 set that included ~4 minifigures I think would have been a huge success.Yes you are right, Stormtroopers are a little beyond customization, but only because of their helmets. But you also basically said that this topic proves their was a market for battle packs as LOTR fans have pulled all their resources to make their own in the sets absence.
  6. For most LOTR minifigures, new printing and molds would be required, so using generic soldiers from outside LOTR doesn't usually work. This is not true when turned around because for example castle doesn't follow a set story and the prints of LOTR minifigures can just be looked at as different heraldry. The only one I would add to that list is the Lord of the rings himself, Sauron.
  7. I tried to open the file as well, no luck. I don't know of any way to fix it; I have never run into this kind of problem before. When I get some time maybe I can try to recreate it from the pictures.
  8. I disagree that battle packs would have sold worse, in fact I believe they would have probably sold better. You see LOTR has battles that require big armies whereas SW has both armies and vehicles which makes armies less important. The fact that a LOTR battle pack would be more generic would only boost its sales, drawing in more fans of fantasy to the franchise. Gamers have been using minifigures for their games for years, and many would of loved to get their hands on armored Elven figures. (I am not a gamer myself, but my dad was and that's where I got most of my castle knights.) You can only remake a set with Stormtroopers so many times before people lose interest because lets face it, you can't really use them for anything else. On the other hand, LOTR generic soldiers can be reused for so many things outside the franchise, and this is why I think they would have sold better.
  9. I don't believe the LOTR sets didn't sell well, I just think it wasn't as popular with LEGO's target audience. I also think any chance of getting a third wave of LOTR sets was lost when the Hobbit was changed into three films. you see with licences, sometimes it is specified how many sets they are aloud to make and since the Hobbit had movies to boost sales, swamping the LOTR sets was the obvious choice, much to the disappointment of many fans. You mean about your request for a slimier Helm's Deep ldd file? I have considered making one but I cannot say for sure right now if I will, I have finals this week so I am not making any promises.
  10. I am assuming you mean Minas Tirith; I don't believe we will see this in LEGO form for quite some time. Someday Warner Brothers (or is it New Line Cinema or Universal?) will remake the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films or make something related to them, but we don't know if LEGO will give the franchise another chance either. So I don't believe we will get any LOTR sets in the foreseeable future :(
  11. Here they are. Silmarillion http://www.us.lego.c...38226bc?index=3 http://www.us.lego.c...544a6d5?index=2 http://www.us.lego.c...bed2f23?index=1 LOTR http://www.us.lego.c...8da33e4?index=1 http://www.us.lego.c...a24ef66?index=2 http://www.us.lego.c...7611217?index=1 Hobbit (I will post these at another time)
  12. Your welcome, I am glad you enjoy them. I probably will not be able to finish more until I have time after the semester ends but even then I'll be working full time; so would you guys be interested in uncompleted model files and/or my concept list? I have started several other models but have not finished them yet.
  13. I guess I missed the whole chase and have arrived to see that he made it. I really like the tree and the use of pieces to make the base slant, very clever.
  14. Here are three1 two more LOTR LDD files. I have also included a picture to kind of give you an idea of what I'm working on (their placing refers to their size). http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/1f8b76e2-1a89-4cad-b00f-35640a6ac23b?index=7 Here are some of my Silmarillion LDD files, originally made to go with commandercody113's "movie script" he was doing on the LOTR gallery. http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/44fecf50-e48c-4e10-964a-2a594999b3b8?index=5 http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/7ecfbdbd-089a-4daa-95b8-0dcd6100c5fd?index=4 http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/1d8e6390-f257-4462-92ba-031a12ab0f51?index=3 http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/56919b3c-26d9-4236-8282-bd8e0316eb83?index=2 http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/df1f785a-f101-4286-b9fc-ec36693be967?index=1 1 One of the LOTR files will not load.
  15. Hello ali1994. I am glad to hear you like them; I will see if I can post more LDD files tomorrow, as I only have a minute now. Unfortunately, I cannot give you the file for Lothlorien though, sorry.
  16. I am currently rebuilding my Barad Dur and Balrog as I get the pieces. After I finish those I plan to do Minas Tirith.I go to the one in WI and am getting to be good friends with the owner and a couple of the staff.
  17. I live in the US, and just finished my collection of LOTR and TH sets this last Saturday. I bought the last set I needed (Gandalf Arrives) at a LEGO resale store called "Bricks and Minifigs", for $25. Though the Middle Earth sets are a bit pricey, this store also does trades and buys your unwanted LEGO bricks, so their prices aren't that bad. I don't believe they have an internet stores unfortunately, but if you live in the US they have stores in AZ, MI, MT, NM, OR, TN, TX, WA, and WI. If anyone is interested, here are my models LDD files namely: Minas Tirith, Barad Dur, Cirith Ungol, and The Balrog. http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/eb963081-87f1-4b55-9d37-846e7325061a?i We will probably not get more official LOTR sets from LEGO anytime soon, so my goal is to design them.
  18. This is incredible! I don't know what else to say. The way you made the "water" flow and the Uruk-Hai move is mind blowing. Well done my good sir, this is amazing!
  19. Very nicely done! I really like the choice of the black spikes (parts of the tower or mountains?) with the lava flowing between them; it really has the feel of the dark land of Mordor. I like pretty much anything Lotr, so in my biased opinion your model is the best entry so far.
  20. I made this account just to ask you if you have any custom Sauron minifigures unreserved yet (I am not sure how I could pay you yet, as I don't have paypal or a credit card. Could I mail a check to you or do you live outside of the states?). Yours is by far the best LEGO Sauron I have ever seen. I have started making my own from existing LEGO parts, but I would really like to have your Sauron's helmet and mace. I would prefer the armor just to be shoulder pads like in the Lotr video game but with a dremel I could probably fix this myself. Please let me know, he would go perfect with my Barad Dur. Additionally, I am also highly interested in a Witch-King and Fell Beast if you ever make them. An Olog-Hai would also be cool to have if you have the time.
