Hi, thanks everybody for your positive feedback! The locomotive exists in two versions: The shown right version, and a newer motorized version (left) with PF equipment. Greetings ThomaS

Hi, I created an additional small weight depot, which was already shown this summer in Rüsselsheim (D): The model is now prepared for the ShowCase-Box in the LEGO store in Frankfurt, I had to make some smaller compromises. But finally I had now the chance to make some detailed photos: The greenhouse is a DUPLO part. Parts of the half timbered house structure were 1st shown of my BFRM colleague Kai, I adapted and modified his building technique. The brown door in the roof is onyl know as 'right' version, I had to switch a 2nd one with stud downside :D On the house side I added old electricity isolators, which you can still find on old houses in Germany. The buffer is originally build from Dave Stannard. The 2CV basis from Hoexbroe. The wagon shows special load: Who knows? ... an old green molding machine and the famous old wooden LEGO duck in the blue box As usual, I used a lot of old parts: The flag, some Fabuland parts or the old windows. So long, thanks for watching :) ThomaS

Wonderful and impressive, including the detailed interior! I too created an 60ies ARAL gas station in minifig scale some months ago. Greetings ThomaS- 50 replies

Hi, we made a small reengineering project for the original Piper set, because there were no public building instructions. As one result we would like to share the LDD-file. More background information and a download Link for the LDD-file you'll find in the German forum of www.doktor-brick.de. Greetings ThomaS

Thanks to everybody for your friendly comments I don't think too that such a model has a real chance for a nomination ... Even If I would fix this, I don't think that railway-sets have such a huge fan base for a nomination as an ideas projekt. If it's a train from a popular movie or tv-serial ... Ok. But a small local yellow KÖF without electric motor ... never. There have been a lot of very expressive locomotive sets on ideas from well known designers, all without any chance. Unfortunately. But such a model would be perfect in the line of the "inside tour sets", models out of the LEGO history. Who knows which models will follow ... Surely I know your great interpretation of the Hohenweststedt KÖF some years ago, fantastic job too. I especially liked your solution with the cup for the lights ... My problem was, that I absolutely wanted to have a black cup for the upper light ... If someone wants to build a replic of the KÖF: feel free! I can offer a zip-File of pictures with some building steps of a pre-version, just send me a pn. Thanks ThomaS

unfortunately not a photo of the real original LEGO set ... But already available from an asian distributor:

Hi, near the Danish border, in Hohenweststedt / Germany, was the 1st German LEGO distribution center. On this premises LEGO used in the 80ies an own KÖF locomotive in original yellow colour scheme. You'll find background infos in the railbricks magazine #8. The model has no motor. My goal was to create the KÖF in "LEGO scale": That means, it is a little bit smaller than the original and the buffers are on a compatible hight to other trains. You'll find more pictures in my brickshelf gallery. Thanks for watching! ThomaS

Thanks everybody for your response! I created an updated version of my vintage 4wide ARAL tank truck (MAN MK25). I received a lot of constructive feedback from Bricksy (doktor-brick.de), he built parallel a digital version of the truck. Together we created an new evolution of my ARAL truck, now including a trailer. More pictures you'll find in my brickshelf-folder (after moderation) Thanks for watching! ThomaS

Hi, thanks again everybody for your kind words! Especially the window glasses of these old pieces have often a lot of scratches. I used a scratch remover polish to restore them: These 35years old glasses had a lot of scratches before polishing. I used the old glasses with stripe pattern stickers (Bricklink picture) from the 80ies. Thanks again! ThomaS

Hi, Thanks again everybody for your kind words! I received a question regarding the building technic of the signs, hope this picture helps: A gas station makes only sense with cars ... I used the excellent citroen 2CV MOC of Hoexbroe to complete the scene: thanks ThomaS

Hi, just finished my model of a 1960ies ARAL gas station. In these days such stations you could found in a lot of small towns in Germany. It's based on old pictures I found in the internet, I hope you can see some of original details in the model. Some more details: After moderation you'll find more pics in my brickshelf gallery. Thanks for watching! ThomaS

Thank you to everyone who replied for your kind words, It´s nice to hear that you like this model! The windmill is one of my new models which will be integrated in my train layout, so the green baseplate was just temporary for the photo. thanks again & greetings ThomaS PS: ... hopefully even more, when you hear that this is a 12V train layout too, here you can find some older photos my 12V arrangements

Hi, My latest MOC is an old windmill, a smock mill, with a typical octagonal plan. The fantail (the small windmill mounted at right angles to the sails) at the rear of the windmill turns the cap automatically to bring it into the wind. ... the backside of the mill with a small well. The sails and the cap is fully rotatable. Here you can see the "round" octagonal design. ... the front side of the mill. Thanks for watching! ThomaS
