Hoorah for the death of Max! I was beginning to worry that we were going round in circles, and only depleting our own numbers. So we didn't reach a conviction yesterday, and there was a penalty, as mentioned in commandment 5 of the 14 commandments given to us each day, and as I said earlier no-one seems to have died by an act of God, so... what was the penalty? "People act differently when there's a full moon" - can we be sure (as I also said earlier) that the modes of killing are being used by the same perpetrators? Or that those using these modes of killing actually targeted the people they intended to. The indication that Ruxana and Donil did target their intended target would suggest the latter is less likely. People are bandying around words like "proves" and "confirms" and "obviously"; this is foolish in my opinion. Nothing is clear, but some things become more likely. For instance, I'd be very surprised if there weren't a vigilante, I'd be less surprised if there weren't a serial killer given the very real possibility of two scum factions, but it would be idiocy to dismiss theories out of hand and claim things are "proven" especially based on the events of an "insane" night. I fear we have lost our blocker and investigator, but I'm damn relieved someone has killed the Russian Mafia Godfather, as Raya says he'd likely be difficult to investigate. As to Ruxana and Donil - neither has really managed to convince me that they are innocent. I worry why Ruxana should have an unblockable option added to simply being a tracker, that doesn't make all that much sense to me. I also note that the weak watcher role that Donil claims is most usually aligned with scum. I am still looking very much at these two and feel that focusing on Stanislav is perhaps a distraction. We shall see. My decision at the moment is really between someone who is unblockable and someone who very well might be the killer. So I'm going to see how the day pans out.

Yup, I like Nirvana too, but I'm still not sure that we need a thread for this, and if there are any MOCs of Nirvana out there they'd feel right at home in Special Themes, rather than here. I'm going to merge this with the "What are you listening to?" thread.

Thanks Vincent, that's hugely flattering that you still found the review interesting without pictures! You are too kind, Hinck, thank you for your compliments and for blogging! Thank you illord. The pastel scheme isn't to everyone's taste, but, like you, I rather like it, and indeed the figures produced for the range were quite cute.

Yay for Phred! Congratulations mate! I know you'll do a great job helping to keep this place in order. <big hug>

The day has started off with heated debate, that's for sure, and losing poor Yuri and Elena overnight is awful; they were good people. I've been concerned for some time that we have two scum factions to deal with and I'm glad other people are beginning to see this greater threat, but I still believe we have some actions missing if that is the case, so conversions remain a frightening reality. That and the penalty. No-one was apparently struck by lightning or otherwise killed by an act of God, so I can only assume that God has caused some other effect on night events. Whether that's a redirection of targets or an inversion of readings some may receive - well about that we can only speculate, and with that I'm not convinced we can assume the person holding the tommy-gun on night one is the same person or the same affiliation as the person holding the tommy-gun last night. I am still confused by the choice of targets, though. Of the five of us who've died I can't really understand why they'd be targets to either scum or town. The point about poor Yuri possibly having an investigative role is an interesting one, especially as he had claimed Ruxana had a "nasty" night action, yet when questioned late yesterday he said that Ruxana had proved to him by pm that his theory was untrue. I wonder, given that Yuri seemed so convinced that Ruxana was up to no good, what it was that Ruxana said to him that was so convincing, unfortunately however, Yuri isn't exactly in a fit state to tell us.

I'm not sure this warrants its own thread, and we do have the YouTube thread for posting these sorts of videos, so I'll move it over there.

Hello Kate, great to read your introduction - I'm sure you'll find plenty of info on the CREATOR houses sets in the Special Themes forum and naturally there are the classic town house sets in (oddly enough ) the town forum! Have a good look around, though, as there's loads more here to see and do! While you're having a look around, though, be sure to stop by here and ask for your shiny pink star, too!

Gosh I just noticed this, thanks again guys! I was thoroughly spoilt by Rufus, and yes I received a rather large amount of Fabuland (but, no, mostly non-MISB Hinck) along with a few other bits and pieces. And Holodoc, I like the idea of a birthweek! (and glad you had a good time at Legoland Germany!)

I've heard what you have to say, Petr, and I still think your "plan" was bizarre at best. Some have even said it was stupid, but no-one's been able to make any sense of it, not even you. What worries me is the rate at which the votes have gathered, especially from people who've previously had little-to-nothing to add to the conversation. Petr I think you have done us all a complete disservice by muddying the waters, but after some more thought I will: Unvote: Petr (Zepher) I see you've mentioned my name as someone who was "funky" in conversation. It's true that I'm a funky guy - I have disco hair, however given I replied to your half-baked plan and series of messages but once I'm wondering how you reach this conclusion. I seem to remember replying that I wondered at the sense of your plan, that I doubted the scum would "alert" you as you so politely suggest they do in your message, and that I doubted we would have any information on day one and to beware of anyone who claimed they did. Petr, you're a raving nutjob, I'm not convinced you're helping us at all, but I'm also not convinced enough that you're actually scum to leave my vote for you in place. As to whether I'll place my vote elsewhere - having used up my unvote I will be thinking carefully about this.
-
Yan, you raise some very good points. I was also one of the "random" people contacted, and it certainly raised my eyebrows. It would be remarkable for all eight and Petr to be town, if indeed this is as random as Petr claims, so I don't think I'm revealing anything the scum don't already know. I'm confused by your behaviour, Petr - both in the general conversation and the behaviour that Yan has revealed. I wish to be responsible for my own vote, so for now I vote: Petr (Zepher) with a view to changing this if I'm presented with a good reason to do so.

What the weapons are actually called will depend on the Quest Master for merchants in a quest, and Sandy for the Marketplace. Whether you can then just assume that they are an upgraded version of your own weapon will have to be negotiated with any particular merchant you come across, but it did rather make things easier - not having to upload a whole new picture and choose a new weapon. I will stress again that you actually have to buy the new weapon to be able to upgrade it, just in case anyone thinks they can randomly add numbers. For what it's worth, I think I bought an oaken staff that miraculously looked exactly like my initial weapon, so I re-named the new weapon the Dawnstar II.
-
Your weapon power will remain the same until you buy a new one (from the marketplace perhaps.. ) however the damage you wield with that weapon will also be related to your level, so as you increase your level you will increase your damage with that weapon. As Sandy has said, there may well be merchants on quests who might have appropriate weapons (and other items) for sale, and it is possible that some weapons may be found or won as part of a quest itself. You may notice I have a Dawnstar II with a WP of 4 (not 3), and that is because I bought a new weapon during a quest. It just so happened to be identical to the one I already had, but with a higher WP.

No, you can create your character now and introduce yourself in Heroica Hall, but wait to sign up to quests later when you have more free time. The idea is that you can play a quest when you have time to do so, but that when you do play a quest you are available for the duration. As to the Advanced Classes, as has been mentioned they will unlock at level 15, and will be based on the class you choose now.

No offence taken, Zepher.... ...so far... But if you attempt to turn my character into something she's not, you can expect her to defend her honour!

Oh Samuel, I'm sorry for your loss, I couldn't bear the idea of losing my lovely Falicia, so I feel real bad for you. I'm still surprised, though. Not that someone was poisoned, it did seem that last night was a quiet night, but once again I am surprised at the target. Sarah was a sweet old dear that wouldn't say boo to a goose. In fact she hardly spoke to us at all yesterday, and could easily have come under suspicion for her lack of input, so I'm surprised that scum would choose her as a target. I do, however think it's probable that the poisoning is a scum kill, however we should not rule out the possibility it was actually the actions of a vigilante in our midst. I'm also surprised that in such a large group only two people have fallen victims to killers - I still believe it is entirely possible that there are two scum factions, as agent Sky alluded to and as was pointed out by Ruslana. So assuming two scum factions and a vigilante (plus a possible serial killer), we're still missing some bits of info here. We should still be considering what others were doing - were they blocked? Were their victims protected? Did they just take the night off...? And while we're considering other possibilities, we should look again to the voting. We seem to have decided that Samuel's vote has been stolen by scum; we've taken that idea and run with it, but is it right? Could it not be that Samuel is voteless, and that someone else has a double vote? Everyone expects that Samuel should know if he has no vote, as that is how things have been in earlier situations such as these, but we have a fickle and imaginative God - is it such a leap of thought that Samuel is just as God made him? I have heard tell in other stories of double-voting-bullet-proof-cops - I doubt very much that God would create such a being, but the concept is certainly not unheard of. I fear we are being led down a blind alley in our thoughts and we are failing to actually consider all the possibilities that we could from the information presented to us. I doubt very much we will receive any vote tallies today now that Samuel has voted - but that does not still mean he has been hijacked - and I too am uncomfortable with the idea of proxying to a man who could not vote yesterday as the possibility remains that it may happen again today and if there is indeed a vote stealer we would be playing into their hands.

Just a brief word, work for me is going to be hellishly busy for the next few days, so if I'm not around as much, that's why. I wish I had cute cartoony picture like def, but I don't. Sorry. -
Nyx peels the horrible hairy hands of Lord Boomington off her slender figure and looks at him with utter disgust. "If you lay your filthy paws on me one more time, I'll turn your head into a cheese fondue, you lecherous old goat. You're far too loud and annoying for me, and if you carry on with Shadina like that, you're likely to lose an arm. And anyway, you don't have any money, so get off me!" And with that, Nyx stalked off back to the bar all the while muttering ancient curses and hexes under her breath, until she reached her drink, where she took a lady-like sip or two through the special crazy-straw Scheherazade always seemed to find for her.

Hey Scherry! I didn't realise Sham was your son! Makes me glad I didn't accidentally turn him inside out or something, if I see him again I'll be sure to say "Hi" for you! Oooh and can I have another of your lovely flaming gumballs? With extra chicken's blood and brimstone? And an umbrella and a cherry on top? Thanks, Schezza, you make the best drinks! Yeah and can I sign up for Looking Through The Wares in addition to The Missing Matriarch? I mean I'd rather go and look for the Matriarch, cos it's all magic and stuff and you know how much I love my shiny gems, but a quest that involves a load of Rogues... well some of them might be cute. And it's another opportunity for me to cause bad people to have a slow and agonising death. Actually, if I can only go on one quest then obviously I'm off to find the Missing Matriarch...

It is also possible that you don't have a vote, and someone else has a double vote. Looking at the numbers, if this was the case the double voter would be within the group that voted for Benji. I think it highly likely that this is the reason why the almighty didn't provide us with a tally in his usual way, else the double voter may have been more obvious. It does also occur to me that having a double vote is not necessarily a scum attribute, in fact possibly quite the opposite. It could be, Samuel, that you are just unfortunately voteless and didn't realise until you tried. And if we'd all tried to avoid voting for anyone yesterday, we wouldn't know this.
-
Poor Benji, I am sorry we have lost him but it seemed to me that the best way to progress today was for us to lynch yesterday, and he seemed the best choice at the time. I'm also sad at losing Eugene, and slightly surprised that he was a target given that he spent much of yesterday under suspicion. I wonder what inferences others had made about him that I have not? I'm a little surprised, but relieved that only one of us was killed last night. In such a large group I was expecting more than one death, and the fact that only Eugene was a victim turns my thoughts to successful conversions or protection, although there could be other reasons behind the lack of death. As to the oddity of Samuel's vote, was this just a one time action against him? Was he targeted as he is an outspoken clear thinker? Was it because Samuel was attempting to vote for Barbara? Is this a permanent affliction, or will it apply to someone else today? Clearly I have many questions buzzing around my fine head of hair today.

Thank you again everyone for your lovely wishes, I had a great day involving at various stages: LEGO (mostly Fabuland ), chocolate cake, champagne, tea, presents, fun and laughter.

Having recently returned from a successful mission to Draida Bay with an unlikely band of heroes, Nyx was stood by the quest board planning what to do next. She looked around as the new heroes began to enter the hall, and a small smile played upon her lips. Nyx, and that is all she is known by, seems at first glance to be your typical teenager - liking make-up and hunky men, and shoes and shopping, but there's much more here than meets the eye. Nyx was found abandoned outside an Orphanage in a village on the outskirts of Eubric city, and the staff there took her in and gave her a frugal upbringing. That was until the age of 7 when the horde attacked. No-one truly knows what happened, but by the end of the ordeal the entire orphanage and all within, attackers, orphans and staff alike, were destroyed by a great fire. All except Nyx, that is. The rest of the village shunned her, blamed her, and drove her out of the village. She was found in the woods by a wise old woman, who brought her up as her own daughter and taught her as much as she could about the power flowing within Nyx's veins. A few years later, the old woman died, and ever since Nyx has been making her own way in the world, using whatever wiles she has to live the life she wants. She's a playful sort, but has always had a slight difficulty determining the line that divides good from evil, and right from wrong. It's likely she'll bound up to you, hug you and chatter to you, but she may also warp your giblets to an alternate dimension, or burn you to a crisp - you can never quite tell. She might smile warmly at you, and her smile counts for a lot, but you might notice her eyes darken, and the atmosphere around her change, and that is the time to take to your heels, and run. Back in Heroica Hall, the air around Nyx crackles; she shakes her hair loose and smooths down her robe with her gloved hands. She turns back to face the quest board, keen for another opportunity to flex her magic, pick up something shiny, and maybe kill a few things, too. "Hmm" she says "that Mack Donauld's got a problem with firestarters, the old fool. I have other talents, but whatever. I think the Ziegfrieds are more worthy of my attention, and that quest sounds like fun day out - it's just that little bit more up my boulevard. I shall apply to the High Conjurator. Right after I've had a cup of tea." Nyx, Level 6 Mage 19 years old Female Human Power: 10 Health: 10/10 Ether: 10/10 Gold: 32 Inventory: Dawnstar II (WP: 4), Ruby (Fire), Amethyst (Darkness), 2 Potions, Remedy, Bedroll, 2 Bones

Good! Not the "lot of work bit" but that this will continue, it was extremely funny! I very glad you enjoy doing this, though. -
Y'know, it's been a funny old day, really. Lots of people have argued over seemingly nothing, a few people have pointed out what they overheard from Agent Sky's conversation with Ivan, and there's been a bit of debate as to whether or not we should vote at all - whether there would be a penalty and if so how bad it might be. I didn't think I'd say this earlier in the day, but I find myself agreeing with Denis, in so much as Benji doesn't seem to me to be the most vote-worthy candidate right now, and after some very odd behaviour Petr has attracted my attention as someone to certainly keep an eye on. That being said, and it being first-day-very-little-evidence notwithstanding, I feel it is my duty to cast a vote. I have watched and listened. I am only one of 28 of us. It is unlikely I will have the opportunity to change my mind from here on. I'm sorry Benji, but in order to secure a conviction, and to give us something to work from tomorrow, I will vote: Benji (Big Cam).
