According to my LEGO VIP Summer catalogue, which flew through the letterbox this morning, the second wave of Friends sets will be available in the UK from August the 1st. To see which sets I'm referring to, please check the pinned Friends topic, or for more in-depth views, we already have a number of reviews (previews) of these sets by Reviewers Academy Teachers and Staff, which can be found in the review index.

Entries will need to be made by individuals, however there's nothing to stop you guys from making complimentary entries. The more Friends MOCs the better, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure many people will join me in saying thank you to Shadows for creating this refreshing and delightful Friends-themed skin, which looks lovely, and while we're on the subject we can also say thank you to Hinckley for the fabulous Friends banner, and Friends contest banners.

Fantastic to see enthusiasm already from the Sci-Fi crew, and there's nothing like a bit of friendly competition (pun absolutely intended ). The Summer Of Friends Building Contest! Get your thinking caps on and builders fingers at the ready, because the Summer of Friends Building Contest is here! There are FOUR categories to this contest: Category 1 - Vehicles The Friends line has introduced a number of vehicles, but we're greedy and we want to see moar! For this category all you have to do is build any type of Friends inspired vehicle of any size, as long as it is minidoll scale. If there's no link to Friends or it's not a vehicle (we're thinking helicopters, trucks, motorbikes, boats), it won't count, but aside from that, anything goes. Category 2 - Rooms We've seen a few of the girls' bedrooms, heck we saw a houseful of Friends rooms in Olivia's House, so why not add your own room? This could be anything from a bedroom for one of the other girls to a basement or garage, attic, sauna, you name it - as long as it would be considered a room in real life and there's some link to Friends, it's eligible. It has to be 16x16 studs and to have at least two walls, although these may be cut away to show us the details inside. Category 3 - Cross-themes (3A = 16x16; 3B = 32x32) This is our wildcard! We want Friends everywhere! The vast variety of new parts, newly coloured pieces and minidolls can be integrated with any other LEGO theme, so show us how it's done! Will you have Emma swashbuckling with Pirates? Or Stephanie joining the Avengers in Licensed? Or maybe Friends from Space in Sci Fi? Just pick any other LEGO theme, blend it with Friends, build a 16x16 scene, or a 32x32 scene, of it and post it in the relevant other forum! Category 4 - Animals A lot of the sets and themes for Friends revolves around animals; we've had puppy houses, pet patrols, a veterinary surgery, dog shows, stables... so many things. We'd like you to create something new. Suggestions include a kennels or cattery, a petting zoo or even a pet cemetery, but let your imagination run wild. This category is 16x16 and must be related to animals in some way. **It is NOT compulsory to include the Friends Minidolls in ANY of the building categories; there are plenty of other ways of building in the Friends style, so be creative!** In addition to the rules above, we have some general rules: Entries must be posted by 23:59(GMT) August 31st 2012 One entry per member per category. Members may enter both categories 3A and 3B. Entries should be new and not have been posted anywhere previously. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries for Categories 1, 2 and 4 should be posted in their own entry topic in the Town forum. The title of the topic should begin with "SoF:" and then give the name of the entry. The subtitle should state the category. Entries for Category 3 only should be posted in the relevant other Eurobricks forum. Friendsify Your Avatar! We're having a whole Summer of Friends, and what better way to join in the fun wherever you are around the boards than by Friendsifying your avatar? All you have to do is change your avatar picture to somehow reflect or include LEGO Friends and then post the picture in this thread (remembering to also change your avatar too. ) The winners will be voted for by members of Eurobricks, so remember the greater exposure your avatar has, the better. Welcome to Summer of Friends! Earlier this year The LEGO Group released their new range of sets aimed primarily at girls, and with it they introduced a group of new characters, a new Town location and lots of new parts and colours. I'm sure you're all aware that this is the new Friends line, which not only caused a controversy storm, but also had sets flying off the shelves. Following up on the roaring success of that first wave of sets, a second wave is hitting the stores (or has hit, in some places) very soon. Here at Eurobricks we think that the bright and colourful Heartlake City is a perfect place to spend your summertime, so join us as we turn the forum shades of lavender, pink, azure and green for a whole summer of building contests, competitions, raffles and most of all FUN! Nyx stretches, bones clicking, and a grin spreads once more across her face. "Now that's some good healing; this Cleric can actually heal! I wonder if she ever met that nice Sir Poletad?" she thinks to herself. She straightens and looks at the remaining enemies with a glint in her eyes whilst beginning to summon the power of the Wind from the back row. "Eeny meeny miney.... mo" Nyx counts between the two foes with her gloved finger... landing on Denerii She grins some more.

The fresh attacks open her recent wounds and Nyx's body is searing with pain. The fire within spreads, the battle force drowning out the cold steel feeling of the pain. Nerwen's words are further encouragement for Nyx to fight. "Nerwen, thank you. The words don't do my sentiment justice. After your kind healing, I shall take on Falcon B with Wind magic from the back row, as I can endure damage from the birdy."

Once again the Eurobricks team came together and created something amazing. I'm so proud to be part of such a wonderful team, and our collaboration rocked! I'm even happier that the eventees agreed too! Thanks Si; big congratulations to you too for your master builder title. A couple of pics of our (winning! ) pub and waterfall, but we'll start a thread with more pics of it sometime. Hell yeah!

Nyx is frowning lots and finding it difficult to focus on anyone around her, but hears Nerwen's sound plan to get her back on the offence. "These are heroes of Heroica, they are my teammates, my allies, I shouldn't have doubted them. I know now I can trust them; they've got my back." she thinks to herself. She hears De'kra clicking. "Hey Nikolai, remember the marketplace where I helped save your life? You don't fancy stepping up and hitting one of our feathered foes do you? You know, maybe return the favour?"
