1. Oh man Series 5 So Gox, Jinky, and Kamzo are most likely the brown and gold Steampunk ones. Krug, Chilbo, and Snoof are most likely the blue/medium blue Frosticon ones. Spugg, Turg, and Tungster would then have to be the yellow and red ones. Sounds like industrial robots to me. EDIT: Oh man, thebrickfan.com has the colors matched up: Series 5: Gox, Junky, Kamzo: brown/gold Krug, Chilbno, Snoof: Blue/trans blue, Spogg, Turg, Tungster: yellow/red Series 6: Kram, Forx, Wuzzo: yellows Dribbal, Gurggal, Slusho: greens Snax, Berp, Vaka-Waka: purple/lavender I was right about the Steampunk ones, and it might be possible that Kram, Forx, and Wuzzow are Electroids, even though this site said they were yellow, but other site said they were yellow/grey.
2. Definitely getting this guy when he comes out, maybe two so I can have one for a Lhikan. I like to think of Tahu's smaller back swords as sort of eyebrow like extensions when mounted on his back, so they would move and express themselves while Tahu talked.
3. Assuming the fencer is a modern fencer (with the head covering and such), they could easily be female. Paleontologist has a good chance of being female, but it could go either way. Sheriff might be female, as we've already gotten a male one. I doubt the Carpenter or the Hot Dog Vendor would be female, as they stereotypically are male jobs, but there's nothing that says they couldn't be. Overall, this series looks very good. Very good. I'm scared about just how much money I'm gonna end up spending on them, because their seems to be very few duds and a lot of good stuff- Especially if you're going for a Fallout type of collection like I am.
4. Yeah you're the bacem I talk about. I always love seeing your transformers and mechs, they really inspire me. I'll try and get a flickr account up and running. I know about the maximum allowed size here, Well, they're the same as on Slumbo, so that design feature should really be accredited towards Lego themselves, but thank you anyway for the nice words. And the first set of nine I've made and have pictures of (that are all separated out now) have a pattern to them. The easiest way to explain what I did is basically a Punnett Square. One red each to orange, blue, and brown.
5. Sorry for the Image sizes. I'm kind of new to this, getting some practice in before I submit my entry/entries to the Golden Mask Contest. I guess I'll have the format the pictures to a smaller size before I upload them to Imgur. I personally use every single last piece possible in a combination/alternate, inspired by bacem's work. First up is Flain and Slumbo. Front:
Back:
I'll be uploading at least one a day to this topic, so keep your eyes peeled for more. This first batch was made before I got any series 3, so the tenth one I upload will include a Glorp Corp member! EDIT: Okay, I have no idea how to actually get a spoilered picture. It's probably because they're too big, so I'll make sure to fix the rest before posting them.
6. Yet another question for our grand Overlords! An Imgur album is fine, right?
7. Depends how large the MOC is. Anything bigger than, say, Witch Doctor type size would have to have regular humanoid legs. Digitigrade legs (i.e. ones with two bends in the leg compared to the singular one we have) are already hard to get balanced, and this problem only gets worse the larger and heaver the MOC is. Humanoid legs, when built out of Lego, are like strong thick tree trunks. You might even want to sacrifice the knee joints for further stability and strength if pure size/weight is your goal.
8. My first entry is coming along nicely, just a problem with stability...Well, I guess that's what Technic is for in the trifecta of Lego building methods: Constraction = Articulation Technic = Stability and Function System = Detail. And let's step up the pace here people. I know the proverbial Rome wasn't built in a day, but we here at Eurobricks have to put our best foot forwards.
9. Sorry for asking this again, but I didn't really get the straight answer I was looking for. Do we count mixels joints as System, Technic, or Bionicle? I know it doesn't matter for most people's MOCs (that are probably Toa size or bigger), but if someone were to make something small a la 2001 Matoran Makuta, it might make the difference between being a majorly Bionicle character and a half System/half Bionicle character. Also, what is the stance on 'illegal' connections and such? For example, if I wanted to use some Technic tread pieces as a belt, and they were the kind that don't have holes on them to connect to pins, would that be fine?
10. C'mon man I just started on mine. Give us plebeians a chance!
11. Here's another quick question for an official willing to answer- Where do the mixel joints fall in the categories of Brick, Technic, and CCBS? They're just downsized ball joints attached to plates, and that size of joint has been used in both Technic and Bionicle for years and years. It's not a problem for me personally (not working at that scale to require that many joints) but I do think it's something that should be addressed as soon as possible.
12. *cracks knuckles* I've never entered a contest before, or even won one, but I'm going to enter for this one. Gotta give whoever wins a run for their money. A quick question for Julochka- I know we can enter multiple times with separate entries, but can we pull out an entrant for whatever reason? I know there's not much point to (unless someone is worried about facing off against the other semi finalists), but I'd like confirmation that this is possible, just in case.
13. So here are my general gists I've gotten from the Toa's personalities so far, based off my expeirence watching anime: Kopaka is 1000% Zoro from One Piece- The one eye, the three blades, the lack of a sense of direction, the seriousness, everything. Steve Blum will always be our Kopaka, if he's voiced. Gali reminds me of either Ikaros from Heaven's Lost Property, or a bit of Temperance from Bones. Being voiced by Brittney Karbowski (Ikaros, Biri-biri/Misaka, animal girl from Problem Children) would be perfect, since she can pull off both the flat tone and the emotional voice well. Lewa is still roughly the same. This is good. I hope Onua doesn't sleep too much. That's what completely ruined the Bear Tribe of Chima. Pohatu is awesome. Tahu reminds me of the red ninja from Ninjago for some reason, even though I've never followed the series... And these animations seriously need to become a full fledged show. I'm loving the Japanese aesthetic.
14. I've just painstakingly rebuilt the Kardas Dragon from my various heap of Mocs and pieces, and I have to say its really as gorgeous as it looks. It's insane that something that complex, the size of a small cat, and comprised of sets totaling only $70- You'd never see that today. Add in the fact that the entire ensemble- all the pieces for Axonn, Brutaka, Vezon, and Fenrakk, but only the instructions for the modified Vezon and the Kardas Dragon- sold for only 50 dollars. That's right- you could get this enormous dragon for only 50 dollars, back in 2006. That's roughly only 8 years ago. The third largest Bionicle set in history only sold for 50 dollars. (while the individual components sold for a total of $70.) I'd heavily recommend anyone who has the component parts of this magnificent beast to recreate him, as his sheer size is mind blowing.
15. The show itself is pretty good. I hope I can introduce my dad to the show. On the plus side he was raised on a New Hope, but on the negative side he doesn't really like animation. I guess I'll just try to get him to try the first episode, and we can share some father son bonding time that he desperately wants, and if he doesn't care for it then that's it.
16. Definitely liking the look of all of these. I'll most assuredly get at least one of every small set (microfighter and BP), the real question is how many past the first one. The ITT doesn't bother me since my first and only Stormie was the one that came with the Ghost, so the blue lines are fine for me. My imperial army is pretty eclectic already, considering I've incorporated both the Old Republic troopers (as a militia) and the Sith troopers (as Elite Guard type stuff) to boost my forces. I'll probably get five of these at the very least, maybe more. The Geonosian Troopers are fine for me, Swelling the size of my Republic army is never bad. Only will get one or two though. The Shadow Troopers look great. I hope they look good next to the Death Star Troopers from this year. Battle Droid Carrier is a must buy obviously. It's a shame that none of the Microfighters are really good for army building; guess I'll have to get a few more of the TIE fighters Pilots and Imperial Officers. By the way, is anyone else immensely pleased that the terrible stud shooters are only in the battle packs? They may be fun and cool, but the actual molded guns are leagues ahead of them. I'm glad to have built up a supply of them to equip my Stormies.
17. I think I've figured out a use for the LOSS's face plant print armor thingie. One word: Gunmen JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?!?!
18. I was confused at how Tormak's Shadow Blazer switched colors, so I looked closer. Mainly, look at the front claws at both the main picture and the fire Chi Power mode, as well as the lower jaw of the main picture vehicle. Basically, entire front (head plus the front wheels) is on a spin-y thing. This also (unintentionally?) gives the vehicle a slight bit of suspension. All in all very cool.
19. I really hope that's what happens. This series also needs a mask pack thing badly.
20. Great. Now I have to build some Toa MOCs to satiate my hunger for BONKLES
21. Well, if all the masks connect to the head like the MoC does, then that pretty much confirms we'll get a new head piece. And since it looks like the masks are meant to flip up like a visor, that means the heads will have to be detailed enough to look sort of like faces- so no transparent heads. I hope this means different colored eye pieces, I really do.
22. And I think a gear function backpack would work great.
23. So are we using Omega [blank] to refer to the new Toa? Cause I'd be fine with that. I wish Omega Pohatu didn't have as much silver, and a bit more brown.
24. Well, as far as I've experienced with the few minidoll sets that I own, generally the hair pieces can sometimes be rubber, and almost all the time they can be transferred onto minifigure heads. As for the other way around, no guarantees.
25. Well, I'm trying Target AGAIN today, hopefully I find some series 3, especially the Spikels. And damn, between Mixels, Chima, Bionicle, Ninjago, Pirates, Transformers, and Magic The Gathering I might not have enough money left to eat. Ninjago and Transformers I can mostly skip, since I was never really involved in Ninjago and I'm only really getting all the Dinobots. But Bionicle, Magic, Chima, and Mixels I've dedicated too much time and money to, so I have to prioritize them. And Pirates is soo cool too! ARGFJGHHGHHJKHFGJGHK I'm just lucky that the new Elves theme is a girls one; had they been traditional minifigure elves I might've ripped my hair out. http://imgur.com/a/zTsqH <-- Link to all the Lego 2015 stuff, by CM4Sci
