That Lion Battlepack looks scary. Look at the middle figure! It's a Lioness with Laval's head piece!

I don't really think Lego is cheap when designing the vents on their molds. Not only is it a stylistic choice, but as I said it reduces the amount of plastic needed for the piece, so they save money without compromising structural integrity. It also makes them lighter, so if the pieces were to be used in the future they'd need less support to not fall over instantly. I know you're sort of joking, and I'm not fervently defending Lego, but I still feel that the vent design primarily comes from reducing plastic and increasing weight, not making the pieces lower quality. I took a second (third?) look at Pohatu's Boomerangs and noticed two more things, one good and one bad/good. The good thing is if you look at the round middle area of the boomerang, you'll see that there's a gap between the part he's holding and the round part, while the other one is smoothly connected- this 100% confirms them being two separate identical parts joined by a pin. Which leads me to the bad news. I brought up the possibility of ratchet joints in the weapons because the underside of the boomerangs had a gear detail. But upon further thinking I realized there was no space in the design for any ratchet joints, so it seems that they will only be connected by a pin, which positively does allow a larger and more fluid range of motion, but negatively takes away the glorious stability and feeling of ratchet joints. I also noticed that Lewa definitely has a gear function on his left arm (our right), although I'm not sure if the other arm does as well. Fire Protector has some sort of back construction with Glatorian Necks in order to have more chest armor in silver. (similar to what some of the mechs this year have had.) Gali's arms also seem to be on a lower joint, implying a gear function. If you look closely, her left arm has three armor pieces: One at the shoulder with the new silver add-on, one in a gunmetal above her hand, and an ice blue transparent shell in between them. I'm extrapolating from the shape of her right shoulder that her other arm is the same. Judging from Jungle Protector, not only does every single set have a gear function, but that the new Gatling gun pieces also work by rotating the piece, since Jungle Protector's gun piece is right next to the gear function. Also, Ice Protector has trans blue hands

First of all, love these new pictures. There's also pictures of the Chima 2015 and Ninjago 2015 in that same folder. But look closely at Pohatu's boomerangs, specifically the smooth edge parts where there are alternating pairs of vents. Now, if you have a lot of experience in how Bionicle weapons are designed, you'll know something: Generally, vents of that kind usually alternate between the two sides of the piece, which not only lowers the plastic required and makes it lighter, but also helps the builder distinguish which side is proper to go where. So if you count the positions of the vents on each half of the boomerang, you'll notice they line up perfectly to be mirror images of each other. TL;DR: Pohatu's Boomerangs appear to be made out of two identical pieces, and might have either a pin joint or a clicky joint to angle/turn them.

Sadly, it wasn't a 30 minute episode. Just a 7 minute season 2 finale, some other content, and a season 3 episode about a Murp between Scorpi and Glurt.

I don't know what you're all talking about. Whenua's voice actor. Paul Dobson did a great job in my opinion- A gruff burly guy that has hides wisdom underneath. I was recently watching Transformers Cybertron and realized that Landmine had the same voice as Whenua. I think what we all should remember that if a show for Bionicle were to happen, we wouldn't get any big name actors. Yeah sure we could get Steve Blum, or any number of the cast of MoL that are now in MLP, but not any more famous than that. I also thought of something. What if Lego got the same guys who are making the 2015 Transformers show, or the guys that did Transformers Animated? A 2D, animesque, highly stylized kind of animation and character design.

We're getting Bionicle instead of generic line #25 because the target audience, boys age 8-11, really don't care. They will get the one in their favorite color, or the one that looks coolest, or the one their parent gets for them. By making the theme Bionicle, it not only builds off a popular and easy to create story skeleton, but also ensures some extra sales from nostalgic teens/adults. And a reboot is perfectly fine and good. Transformers has been doing it for decades, and no one ever complained about that.

Hoping to go out tomorrow and see if I can grab any of these. I'll be prioritizing the Spikels, since tan is a nice neutral color.

You know, it's a real shame Lego can't treat this series with the respect it could get. The inter tribe politics and forced state of almost peace that's created by Chi is very interesting. The Cave Tribes should not have been locked away in the cave. While yes they were rude, bad, and antagonistic, they were only acting on their instincts. They never asked to be "born", and punishing them for simply trying to survive is amoral at best. As for the Ice Hunters, they are actually evil. From what I've gathered from the last two episodes, as well as my own head canon, is this: World of Chima is big and has many "Mount Cavorra"s. For the sake of simplicity, I'll refer to one we all know and love as "Chima Prime" Chima Prime is an oasis surrounded by wasteland, which explains why it's so isolated. Elsewhere on the planet, however, Chi Fonts sprung up and gave rise to many different animal races, with each group using their own kind of Chi. Two of these groups are the Fire Tribes and the Hunter Tribes. Fire Tribes have Fire Chi, which, say, grants extended life besides standard effects of Chi, and is all fire-y. Hunter Tribes have Chi that can indefinitely renew themselves with regular uses. So naturally these two groups of tribes are natural rivals and enemies. Enter Sir Fangar, who is a warmonger and wants control of all the Chi for whatever reason. Fluminox, leader of Fire Tribes, leads his forces to try and stop him attacking innocent Chi Fonts. Battle Battle Yada Yada Fire beats Hunter, and imprisons them deep below the Gorge, right next to Fangar's next target and site of the major battle. Fire also freezes Hunters in ice to ensure their regeneration abilities can't help them get out. Time passes, Chi is continually thrown down bottomless holes, etc. The Chi of Chima Prime is very powerful, as it's "ability" is the Golden Chi, which can cause great change and alter structures and such, as well as create and manipulate matter. So the general presence of Scorn constantly using Golden Chi to build his great statue, as well as all the Golden Chi hoarded by Lavertus, changes the nature of the Hunter Chi, which now has Ice powers on top of it's usual powers. This comes to a head when Scorn throws down Chi at Fangar, who revives with the Chi. During the thousand years or so of dreamless sleep, the Fire Tribes sort of become a world police, protecting other Chi Fonts and their inhabitants. They don't interact with Chima Prime, through the "Prime Directive" a la Star Trek. Yada Yada this season happens, Fire Tribes come in to help Chima Prime against their mortal enemy, the newly christened "Ice Hunters" Much fighting, Laval and Li'ella fall in love, etc. etc. Good guys win. The heads of the Ice Hunters are taken out, and the rest of the tribes surrender. Fire Tribes help Chima Prime reestablish relations with Cave Tribes, and make a road to the wider world beyond the Outlands. Chima Prime enters the world stage as a new power, with their allies the Fire Tribes, and possibly the Ice Tribes as well. New factions and forces and color schemes, such as an Ocean Chi Tribes, Jungle/Plant Chi Tribes, Stone Dragon/Dinosaur Chi Tribes, etc.

Probably because they're the most popular most likely, as Flain was kind of billed as the main character. And red is a popular, easy, and vibrant color that Lego sure wants to cash in on.

I've checked ~5 stores in my area, and only one store even had Mixels. Only series 2 though. I haven't tried my local Toys'R'Us yet, but I've had bad experiences in those stores before, so I'd much rather complete my collection at another store. Why does it seem like Mixels aren't doing so well? I thought at first they flew off the shelves (making it hard to get the complete series 1), but now stores just don't seem to have them anymore. It's a shame, because they're cute little monsters that perfectly fit the idea of Lego, as well as being super cheap and good value.

Magnetism should have definitely been red and blue, like the north and south ends of a magnet. Sonics was fine as grey. Gravity was great as purple.

Other people in this thread have theorized that the Defenders will come with a randomized mask (probably matching the color of the set) But I wouldn't get my hopes up personally.

I'm definitely grabbing as many as I can when they come out, but I'm building Tahu and Pohatu first because they were my first sets, way back in 2002 as the Nuva. Although I might not be able to resist opening ze little ones until I get home; might open them in the car outside the store...

So wait, you're talking about: SERIES 4 3 of new tribe 1 3 of new tribe 2 1 each of new series 1 Mixels SERIES 5 3 of new tribe 3 3 of new tribe 4 1 each of new series 2 Mixels. SERIES 6 3 of new tribe 5 3 of new tribe 6 1 each of new series 3 Mixels. Alternatively, the three old tribe Mixels in each series wouldn't necessarily have to be exact; i.e. series 4 could have an Infernite, a Wiztastic, and a Fang Gang.

If they had dispensers... I might literally pour money into it and collect ALL the masks...

Grabbed the 75012 BARC Speeder with Sidecar today at a not so local Walmart, which was pretty nice since it released a year and a half ago in the U.S, and it's nowhere to be found in the 5+ others I've checked. Clone is very nice Obi Wan is ugly as sin Droids are nice Both Speeders are nice. Definitely worth the $15 I spent on it.

Aanchir, you're a genius. That idea is the perfect mix of reintroducing "mask packs", allowing more females in the story (since all the Matoran packs would be generic), making something that should be an impulse buy probably fly off the shelves, AND making a lot of money for Lego. I sincerely hope that your theory is correct, as if it were I'd have to buy several dozen of these Matoran then, just to easily populate my own tiny village.

Urgh... Reading the last ~20 pages, and seeing where people have jumped in without lurking enough. I don't want to seem like a hipster, but the average quality of the discussion goes down the more people are speaking, at least in this topic. I can sense the SJW oozing out of some posts, and I don't like it. On terms of gender balance, I think the two best steps to go forward would be: 1. Unlink Gender:Element/Color parity, and 2. Have a ratio of 2:1 Male to Female. It'll still be majority boy orientated, and the target audience (Boys age 7-13) wouldn't really care. They'd just grab their favorite color, the one that looks coolest, and/or the cheapest one. I propose that, of the remaining 5 male Toa, Pohatu would become female. Why? Both his hips and general attitude would fit a fine female. The "medium" and "large" Toa are probably only different in terms of like, $10 vs. $15. Can't talk much more now, but I'll update with more thoughts later.

Slight spoiler, but only in regards for one character. Regal... man, Regal. We need MORE characters like that, half breeds who aren't fully accepted in either of their parent tribes. So from what we've seen, I'm making the following predictions/assumptions: 1. Certain tribes of Chima can interbreed. 2. Some half breeds are actually weaker than either of their parent's species, not stronger. 3. As for races that can interbreed, I'm thinking Fox-Wolf, Rhino-Bear, Beaver-Skunk, Gorillas, Lions, and Crocs are too different biologically probably. 4. For half breed individuals, I'm certain that a few other exist in Chima, not just the wastelands.

I tried posting a link to that site on another forum, and apparently it's "illegal" or some bull. I don't care about using it, it's been around for years and updates very quickly.

Just watched it, Gotta love that site, really. Good episode. Definitely more plot focused than some earlier episodes, and more Ravens = more fun! I'd say Crocodile Tears gets an 8/10, the standard for any plot focused episode that has connections both backwards and hopefully forewords.
-
Gotta say, loving the latest episode. I really like the beginnings of an actual plot with actual repercussions. I'm a little sad about the Wolves being bad now, but that final scene with Windra seems promising for redemption. And my theory that the physical well being of Chima depends on distributing the Chi fairly and evenly. Hopefully the Wolves realize this and calm down hostilities. And an episode with the Ravens not being backstabbers and barely any Gorillas? Perfect. I hope Crooler is banished now. I'd love to see the Crocs redeemed and the true villains exposed: the Gorillas. Also, has the Wolf tribe always been so friking enormous? That must've been easily a couple hundred of them. All in all, excited for the next episode.
-
I appreciate the Gorillas trying to control their inner anger, but it's rather hypocritical if they tell everyone else to chill out when they themselves can barely control their anger. Remember that flower in the road that blocked traffic? If the Gorillas had any understanding of anger and what causes it at all, they'd move the flower to safer place or just leave it. Logically, then the Gorillas are doing stuff like this because they like getting angry, because they like beating up random people. The thing I think is most important in fiction and in real life is being honest with yourself and others. Good people acting good and bad people acting bad is standard; Even liars and thieves that admit their faults are fine. Even evil characters with good hearts are fine because that allows for positive character development. But characters that put on an innocent nice face while concealing their cruel and vicious ways, and refuse to admit to themselves or others that they have a problem (like the Gorillas). I hate characters like those. Even the Wolves had the decency to warn everyone about their uncontrollable crazy during the Hundred Year Moon. The wolves know exactly who they are, and they're comfortable telling people the truth about themselves. One of the reasons I was really unhappy about how the wolves ended up at the end of Foxtrot was how easily they turned their backs on their principles and loyalty. It felt really out of character for me personally, but will certainly lead to cool plot stuff later on.

That Croc was completely shadowed, there's no way we can be 100% who it was until we get confirmation later on. EDIT: oh, and the exact link I used to get the episode was http://www.watchcartoononline.com/lego-legends-of-chima-episode-10-foxtrot They're pretty on top of things in terms of getting episodes up the next day and such. Quality is a bit meh, good but not HD, but for watching it online really soon after uploading it's worth it.

Just finished episode 10, Foxtrot, on a site called watchcartoononline.com. Here are my thoughts, spoilers, yada yada yada:
