  1. Only stores I know of that ship direct to Aus from the US are: Barnes and Noble (great prices, very cheap shipping, SLOW delivery) Toywiz (good prices, 5% off coupon always available, fast delivery but shipping can be stupidly expensive, I just put items in my cart to see how much the shipping is as it varies a lot e.g. 1 box of 60 minifigs can be only $30 shipping but 1 individual minifig can be $40 shipping!?!?) FatBrainToys (average prices, only really worth it if they have a sale or coupon) If anyone knows of any others I would love to know as well! There is always the option of using a parcel forwarder but from experience I would only recommend this option for really expensive sets when there is a large gap between au and us rrp and for taking advantage of some of the really good sales at stores that dont ship directly to us e.g. Amazon, TRU, Target especially when they have buy two get one free deals. Keep in mind the cost of shipping however can sometimes negate a lot of the savings....
  2. I also had trouble signing up with my Australian address using Safari as the browser but when I logged on with Internet Explorer Australia showed up in the drop down box where you put your address....weird but they definitely ship to Australia, they are sister sites with Zavvi which I have also bought from. As others have said maybe read some reviews on the site before purchasing but at the end of the day make your own decision based on the price and what you want from the set. For example if you care about mint boxes I wouldnt suggest buying anything from overseas due to the high likelihood postal services will abuse your package and it will end up at least partially squashed! I would suggest shipping times are the reason most people complain but they cant be much worse than B&N and yet I still keep going back for the price!
  3. Thanks....but just went to check it out and.. damn...out of stock :( Hey all, to those of you that aren't afraid to buy overseas and wait a little for your items to be shipped I saw a couple of good deals (I think!?) on thehut.com They now have free delivery to Australia which makes some of their pricing quite competitive. I also used a coupon code KSTART15 which gives 15% off toys. The items that stood out to me after the coupon was applied were: Lego City Train Station Approx AU$31 delivered Lego Technic Motorbike Approx AU$39 delivered Lego Ninjargo Spinzitsu Dojo Approx AU$42 delivered Lego Garmadons Dark Fortess Approx AU$67 delivered Hope this helps someone!!!
  4. Speaking of 10217 diagon alley....anyone in Adelaide interested in going halvsies in an order from brick link for a couple of these? Last time i checked it would come to less than $250 delivered each...if anyone is interested I will get an updated quote and let you know...
  5. For those of you that were disappointed that TRU didn't apply their 20% off Lego to Ninjago or Lego Games, the coupon below is for you! 20% off full priced items at TRU this weekend. http://media.toysrus.com.au.s3.amazonaws.com/EDM/EDM_2011/Wk9_3103_OTW/coupon.jpg
  6. Not sure if this is valid at all stores but thought I would post it in case anyone is interested or can confirm.... Courtesy of Meeche at Essential Baby forums: AND all you Lego Star Wars fans.... Target had the Emperors Palpatines Shuttle for $54.xx The tag on the shelf says $110
  7. i understand where you are coming from but my green grocer did indeed ship via express post the very next day. Hoping it will be at the post office waiting for me when i finish work today! I guess it really is a case of YMMV when it comes to fishpond.
  8. Does anyone know where the cheapest place to buy a set or box of series 1 minifigures would be? I completely missed this set but I just looked at the photos and would love to add some to my collection. They seem to be very expensive on ebay. The cheapest I have seen so far is a box of 60 on Bricklink for $195 plus postage. Anyone seen anything cheaper?
  9. Okay my apologies. I thought you said that you had your planes on ebay for $59.50 and that is the same seller. And I didn't tell you NOT to sell them at that price. In fact I said it is great for you I just said don't sell them HERE at that price.
  10. Excuse me but my series 4 minifigures have also landed in Australia so if we got them from the same person then $95 for a set is a massive profit on your part. If you bought from the same person as me you will be making roughly $54 profit per set. Thats great for you but the title of this thread is "Aussie Sales" hence we are all here to save money, not contribute to others profiteering, that's what ebay is for. I also see you are using the pick a fig drop down box listing style that I used for s3. Considering I was the only one that listed in this way I am going to assume you copied me. Nice work.
  11. I just purchased a 10185 Green Grocer from Fishpond for $212 delivered.....I came to post the deal on here for others who were game but when I went back to the page it is now showing as "unavailable". I was completely expecting this but I had the money in paypal so I thought I would give it a go.... Now I just wait to see what excuse they come up with as to why they have to cancel my order.....or I get a very nice surprise....lol Other decent (IMO) prices I saw if you are willing to brave Fishpond customer service were: LEGO - Star Wars 7752 The Clone Wars Count Dooku's Solar Sailor $83.33 LEGO Ninjago 2504 Spinjitzu Dojo $54.99 LEGO - Castle 7097 Trolls' Mountain Fortress $139 LEGO Creator 10216 Winter Bakery $74.99
  12. I'm not sure what you mean? I bought 1 portal and 1 slave 1 in the same transaction....I just had to hit the back button and click the 'almost gone' button again...
  13. Oooohhh nice deal....I don't know whether I should get Portal of Atlantis or not.....hmm
  14. I received the Myer vouchers Via email the other day. Here is the link, i'm assuming the barcodes are generic and not tied to individuals. http://www.myerone.com.au/myerone/downloads/PrivateSale_Vouchers.pdf
  15. My series 4 minifigures are in the post! I'm a bit excited! Does anyone know what the AU RRP will be for them? $4.99 again? I will be selling the spares on ebay but I like to keep them at or below RRP so they sell quickly.
  16. If anyone is interested in some good photos of 2011 sets fbtb's photostream on Flickr is great. Has some really nice pics of the 10219 Maersk Train and photos of the Cars 2011 sets etc. I found it useful as some sites such as B&N were offering pre-orders of some sets but didn't actually have any pictures to show what the sets look like. Also check out the GIANT Lightning McQueen! Awesome!
  17. This is not really an Aussie sale but apparently Series 4 minifigures are being released early (overseas at least) on the 21-24 of March. I have pre-ordered 2 boxes, so if my information is correct I should receive them in roughly 3 weeks...woohoo! lol
  18. I have ordered from B&N about a dozen times now. Almost always receive my order in a month, give or take a couple of days. As far as shipping goes I just wanted to point out the shipping methods as I understand them. From what I can tell the cheapest and second cheapest option are virtually the same and IMO its not worth choosing the "priority" option. The only difference (other than price) is that with the second option the package is sent to Australia via airmail the same as the cheap option, but supposedly gets distributed as priority mail once it arrives in Australia. Considering this is the smallest part of its trip I don't think it is worth the extra money at all. Before I realised this I placed two orders around the same time, for one I chose the regular airmail option, for the other I chose the "priority" option. The regular airmail package arrived a week before the "priority" one and the priority one was not marked express or anything so I highly doubt it was distributed as express post once it was in Aus anyway! The most expensive option however does seem to be much quicker if you are willing to pay the extra money. Just my two cents...
  19. Thanks for the heads up! Grabbed myself a The Burrow Set...yay!
  20. For anyone else with this problem who doesnt already have an alternative email address, with hotmail you can create up to 5 aliases with one address. You can have the mail come to your regular inbox so it saves you checking more than one email...
  21. I called and cancelled my "unable to process" order too, can't be bothered waiting another two weeks only for them to cancel on me anyway! And my Groupon refunds came through too. Yay!
  22. The coupon code doesnt work anymore. It was originally to price beat the Fishpond deal, but then Fishpond changed their price so the coupon code got revoked. Even I would have ordered one @ $70 and I have no interest in it whatsoever!! Do know which mainstream stores in Aus even have it/are going to get it?
  23. My turn now....anyone have any idea how I can get my hands on a 10217 Diagon Alley for sub $200? Big ask I know...I think my best bet is Bricklink..anyone else have any tips?
  24. Is the Venator set 8039? Catch of the Day still have it for $107.90 shipped http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_id=22302 oo.com.au also have it but with them it is $140 shipped.
