Nice. I'm still unsure about Market Street. Do you like it?
-
That is pretty cool. How strong is it?
-
Is this really the same though? Someone has hammered my engine! That just sounds like the engine couldn't handle the humidity. What's for tea anyway?
-
Dunno, but it sounds good!

I always find that often used angle funny. Why? How many people can, and actually do this? It simply isn't practical for most as they don't understand computer languages, so for the average user they still have to trust someone, especially since unless you then compile it youself, you still aren't sure that the binary is the same as the code. Additionally, open source projects always suffer when the coolness factor wears off. Since services like Flickr are already around I can't see massive interest from the open source community. But, I was just stating what I could and might actually do. What I think is best is obviously very different to what you think. I would prefer that the solution was completly independent of hosts, and even allowed people to use their own websites if they want, but maybe your idea is better. If I do it I will find out then if people like the idea or not.

Well it doesn't concern me directly, thus I tend to side with the "it should create jobs" line. However I have not looked into it at all.

Give me a break. Let me assure you, I have heard all of the Star Trek jokes before, and none of them are funny. I have never even seen the show. TV just isn't my thing. I prefer fishing any day. I would change my name to avoid all the jokes but my mother would murder me. As for hammering engines, if you had a real job, you would know that sometimes the good love of a hammer is needed to keep an engine purring. If I had my hammer I would show you the wonders it could do for you.... Anyway, what is the point charging off to investigate when we don't know what we are supposed to be investigating? You tell me Mr Security, and then I will think about it.

Capt'n! I think I know what's wrong with the engine; the main engine valve and the gauges have been sabataged. It looks like the work of a hammer... not that I have ever hit an engine with a hammer before it's just... oh stuff it. Yes I have hit one before, but this time it wasn't me! :-$ Now who has my hammer? >:-(
-
Capt'n, my hammer, it is not where I left it. You haven't "borrowed" it for nut cracking again? I did find some more whiskey though, but it seems that this one has a leak as it was full when I left, but it is half empty already.
-
Capt'n, I realise you pay me and all, but you don't pay me enough to keep calling me "Scotty". >:-( The name is Jim. Anyway, the ship isn't moving because the engine isn't. As for why the engine isn't working, that is for Jack to answer... but I suppose I should give it a good look myself. I will first go to the forward bilge to get some... tools. :-$

I don't mind licenses providing they don't displace existing ones. For example; Star Wars - Was displacing Space, but that seems to be over Indy - Could be seen to be displacing Adventures Ferrari - Is (IMHO) displacing the old techinic geared cars and I wish it would go away Harry Potter - Doesn't seem to be displacing anything. Sponge Bob - Doesn't seem to be displacing anything. Incidentally Batbrick, where in Tasmania do you live? I live in Hobart...

It's pretty cool! The head and shoulders work well. I love that new part; I have only one myself. I got it in the MTT.

Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm into trains too, but I have already ran out of room for more so I think my collection could already be complete! :'-(

Hello, I am SupremeCommmanderGrievous
Siegfried replied to SupremeCommmanderGrievous's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks! Are you looking forward to all the new EU sets coming out? Did you think Grievous was killed too easily? Do you find it annoying when someone asks too many questions? -
Well it isn't my fault! Why, only yesterday I used brasso on the entire engine. It was so shiny that I needed sunglasses down here. Oh, I have the whiskey by the way, but oddly it is only half full now. :-$
-
Me too! Well, that highlights a problem. I made my last post at what was for me 2am, and by the time I was up and ready (I have two kids so I can't just get up and EB away) it was over. Is it possible for a part to be spread over two days, or at least more than 8 hours? I realise that you must be there to guide us, but I can't stay up between 2am and 9am! 8-| Perhaps I should give up my role to an understudy in a more appropiate time zone....
-
OK. I will do my best to get an entry in. :-$

I'm sorry. Where are my manners? For those that don't know me I am Jim Doohan, the Chief Engineer. And you may not call me Scotty.
-
I thought this was to be a dry ship this voyage? I did keep some on board just the same; it is good for cleaning engine parts. Irish whiskey I recall. I believe I left it in the forward bilge. I can go get some if you like.

All jokes aside, shrinkage is not a walrus problem anyway. We keep it inside until needed, hence the large penis bone.
-
Mate, before you make fun of my equipment, you should be told that walruses have one of the largest penis bones around. One was recently sold for $8000.

Welcome to Eurobricks! The Whackiest Lego site around! :-D Oh, that is a nice crane. *wub*

Not another one. >:-( As I told UniqueBuilder, I can sit in sub zero (celsius) water and my testicles stay put. You try that and get back to me. :-D On the other hand, I am looking a bit heavy. Perhaps it's time to go back to the gym... I will, but it isn't very impressive! Give me a day or two.... Who are you asking? :-P

My attitude is that the best solution would be an index that keeps track of the tags of a particular file, it's file signature (including a hash and it's size) and at least one location where to find it. People download the program and the latest index and then perform searches locally. The index can then be updated via peer-to-peer or via a update download, with people adding their own photos to the index. As a programmer (mostly client based assembly language, not web based stuff) I feel this is possible, and I am serously considering doing it, but I should note that I don't do open source. I am against the concept of a image hosting site due to the huge bandwidth costs involved, not to mention the legal issues of people posting naughty photos.
