Did you replace Strakk's body too, or just the limbs? I've got some spare white limbs and I planned to do the same thing, but I don't have a body and it'd be nice to know it will still look ok. I think it will, but still nice to ask. If you can I suggest modifying Skrall's lifecounter onto his back, I feel it adds a lot.

Screw you dude, seriously. I know it must break your heart that we can't do everything immediately. I'm terribly sorry you had to wait a few days, it must have been torture. I know Andrew personally as a good friend, and I'm not gonna take you insulting him. He's a great guy, and you have no freaking clue the kind of crap he has to put up with.

Newsflash Tuma disappointed me. I mean, I'm already really burnt out on the whole lime green thing, and then when I built him I come to find out his wing/blade/backspines are completely imposable. I think the Helmet is cool. The stickers add something to it, but having it printed like that would have been ten times as awesome. It's oddly flimsy though-this is kind of a weird thing with the Glatorian, some of them have these thinner helmets like Malum and then you get Gresh who has a thick, sturdy helmet that would put the Kanohi to shame. Anyway, his big black sword is cool and if you like beefy warriors he's not a bad buy, but man that back spine thing really threw me for a loop. If there was some way to exchange him for a Strakk I'd do it in a heartbeat. Heck, while I'm here I might as well give some other thoughts... Gresh has such a well done color scheme it's kind of scary. He's a generic humanoid in every sense of the word, but he just doesn't feel old. His spectacular dual purpose weapons, his sturdy and menacing helmet, and his flowing color scheme play out well . I like this kind of innovation Lego, let's do this more. I like Malum as long as he is looking down, very malevolent. The claws really are neat too as long as you can replace the Silver Visorak Claw with a red one. Unfortunately he's laughably short if you don't replace his legs with something new, but a longer thigh did the trick and I'm a big fan of him now. Skrall is also pretty tight on his color scheme, and unlike Gresh he's not completely generic in his build. I know some people don't dig him, but I love his new thigh plates and all his weapons feel like a warrior's. These sets are just so well done in comparison to what we've gotten in the past, I want whoever designed these to get a hefty raise. Still looking forward to Strakk, hopefully he starts showing up in stores. I've also got Berix/Tarix under the tree at home...he's as generic as Gresh but without the saving grace of an awesome color scheme, but his Axes do look extremely cool from what I've seen. And Vorox suffers from a really cool concept with poor execution. He's got the Tan, yes, but otherwise there is nothing he offers that you can already get from Zesk done better.

Accept it :P But seriously, I didn't say there none ever, but the ones I own are most definately solid-I was forceful with them.

Looking over my whole collection, I think that most of the Metru stuff is my least favorite. The 03 Titans kind of suck, but there's nothing I like about any of the 04/05 sets. The Toa Metru are -ok-, and that's it. Everything else blew.

Dude, what's terrible? That he's a hunchback? Yeah, so was Onua. I mean, if you move his head back a single peg he's pretty awesome. Definitely a soldier. If I had more parts I could also bulk up his back too with just two double rods and a 1x3 bar. I love these new sets, I own Malum, Gresh, and Skrall so far. Happy to say there are no brittle pieces and that the looks rocks.

How do you not want the Zesk? That thing has the coolest looking face I've ever seen. Also, I'm surprised no Gresh. Lots of cool recolors and his color scheme is one of the tightest of the year.

I think that's an intentional affect?

So am I the only one who gets an Ironman vibe from the new heads? I love this year.
-
At the same time, the high quality of the sets and story this year may be the thing that saves Bionicle from painfully ending. If this were a Hordika kind of year I could see the entire line sputtering away. As is, they may at the very least break even.

You've been with the story long enough to know the small sets are never going to play big roles-they want to sell the expensive ones, remember?
-
Are we really discussing the dangers of -magic-?? Really? REALLY? Wow.
-
Oh yeah, because the good guys fighting the bad guys was such a more developed and mature storyline.

Speaking of awful names... No offense, but Naretu? Wow, I wonder what awful Anime that sounds like. :P I much prefer Thornax

Don't care, you might have a spare $90 just sitting around but some of us have to eat. A Canister set is a much better option. Like you say, he's a character you've (Not me, I've been hoping he never would be a set) been waiting for, for eight years. Everyone should be able to get him.

I'm a staff member :P

And this is in all likelihood a good thing.

I'd guess that's because you just guessed. That's all any of us can do.

Look. Just don't use Rahkshi heads as breasts. It's anatomically incorrect, it's grossly out of proportion, and frankly it's demeaning. The Inika chestplate by itself really should be more than enough.

If they're gladiators, it's my opinion that none are "evil" or "good", just all fighting for whatever it is they are fighting for.

Personally, I'm in love. I suddenly regret spending money on 2008.

Wow. Those comics are genius. Lego, why do you make this year so amazing. I love it so much right now, but I know that in the summer you're going to ruin it for me. :(

You know what Clonie? I need to write Greg a letter sometime. Let him know it was the right choice. Having the Nuva back is good, and when the books come out it will be like old times again.. And frankly, I do enjoy the Phantoka. I'm on record here and BZP saying that I loved the new designs and enjoyed what Lego had done while still keeping the characters somewhat true to what they are. But the fact of the matter is that I hate the Mistika Newva. Not because they are such terrible designs. I hate them because Lego did -so well- this first half of the year. I had fully planned to purchase every Canister set this year before I saw the Mistika Newva. They singlehandly reduced my spending by at least $100, and probably more, for this year. I understand the reasoning of the Lego team and the sacrifices they made to get the Nuva back... but I dunno. Frankly, if they're going to try and reconcile us fans, I would rather they just not even try if they're only going to half-megablocks it. This is why Lego fights so hard to keep the prototype images out of our hands, because they know how easily it will stop our spending early on. I was keyed to purchase every single Phantoka. Now I'm only looking at the Canister Makuta and nothing else. And I don't think it's my fault. I think they needed to stay consistent with their redesigns, to at least make token efforts to us fans, and for the love of everything that is holy for once in the company's existence make the freaking blue Toa a little less bulky than the others, not more.

Why do we suddenly like these sets now? And am I the only one who really just doesn't like Silver and Red? It's like putting green and purple together. Good for small silver highlights, but any more than what we had on Jaller kills it.

I think I might actually save my money this year.
