As I written we using tuned and even replaced motors, and hole different batteries and control. "only" the basic elements are lego, what still is 90% or something like that. So we have a perfect platform and still enough power. For sure LEGO electric components never manage to fly. So we use electric components like in every drone, "just" with a LEGO airplane/drone body structure. Now we just have 12 days to go for the kickstarter launch ;-) Kickstarter also already approved our project page so we just have to wait and press the START button ^- About the development we are working now on 3 new things: 1) We want to use a giant drone and dropping mechanism to film a low terrain flight and drop down the "big" robot. 2) I start working now with LEGO MINDSTORMS to build autonomous robots and vehicles for rescue and clean up missions inside the contest. A demo video will be available around the kickstarted launch date. And this aspect of the show will invite a lot of hobby MINDSTORMS fans to join our contest. 3) And I going to build a high velocity fly wheel gun which should be able to shoot rapidly and with high power. I will finish it before kickstarted launch I guess. Depends on how many motors I require for reach this power goal and if I have to re order new material before. So have a nice day and stay prepared for the big KICKSTARTER launch on 15th this month. I update you again if news and video feed is available. Rayjunx and the Nerd Team ;) -

We will produce the video in Germany close Munic, PLZ 86865. But its not absolutely required to be here, our builders can work in distance to and send creations to us. We can also support the needed material to create it if the production begins. -

Noooo!.... why they let me write and then tell me something is going wrong and i cannot reply... a text lost *lol* Sorry. so i do again: first Thank you! the gun looks awesome! I like to have one! And about the questions: -I have no fear stay in one room with the "terminator" he's usual very friendly *lol* -Springs are not strong enough for our kind of weapons, we need really a lot of power, so we have to use strong rubber bands and string mechanism, primary like a crossbow or bow, that works good. And we use strong connected lego lift arms as bullets, they have enough mass to destroy something ;) -And thank you a lot for all of your feedback, i hope all of you take a look at kickstarted if we start in 2,5 weeks. And if you like i can send over flyers and posters. We still have some. But I can not send 1000 of, i have to concentrate to people i can send more of them, and they separate them and give them to friends etc. Somebody like to have one? ^^ maybe I should login before I start writing next time *lol* -
Hi! Together with friends we started a robot battle contest in which we use tuned LEGO technic robots to battle inside a destructible city ;) We want to make a big show out of it and record it as video ^^ The robots have tuned motors and we control them with 2.4ghz system. So we can use more tanks and robots the same time in missions and races etc. And everything already work. Now we try to find new friends specialy for building the city and robots together, or helping record the video and driving the vehicles. But anyway we are happy about every feedback, about your ideas for this contest. We already have a prototype running which we show in this video: And we give away flyers and poster for free as long as we still have some ;-) Hope to get your feedback, Ray and the roboter nerd team ^^ PS: You can reply here, send message or mail to markus@freakwave.de , whatever you like.

Hello! thank you for the feedback, and sorry about my bad english ;) about your questions: i mean "the tank must have two sets of TREADS" , so just not use wheels. about the ship part with lead inside. yes i mean parts like this. there so many lego parts that it is hard to have a good overview about all. what i meaning is just, not using leads or metal parts because more heave and strong, as bullet for guns, meele weapons, armor etc, all metal parts we using we need in the electric components and this is allowed. the maximum weight is only a limit. the minimum weight is what ever you like, so you can make much more light weight "walking" mechs. the reason for the biger max is following: if you build a 3kg tank and a 3kg walkinkg mech, the tank is much more efficient, the drive not take so much weight and is more quick etc. the mech just slower and the legs weak target for attack. But i want that all oponents can start in one class together, so we allow mechs that more difficult to build a bigger weight, allow them to compensate the more complicated technic for walking with being more big. Allow them to take biger weapons and more armor for the price of beeing more slow. I hope i was able to help you, and i will update the instruction book soon for the next who maybe have the same questions. Greatings Rayjunx Oh, and yes it would be hard to build a real walking mech with LEGO in that weight class, but you can use 4 or 6 legs. I will try this in july. Greatings Rayjunx

Hello, yes you all right, and sorry that i not post so many informations here, i not want to write to much somebody maybe not want to know already in detail. The detailed rules for the contest i will bring online today or tomorrow at my webpage. And about the motors, you can use 4 channels, each with 2 motors, also 8 functions. This 8 channels the first mech prototyp already using. I already know this make VS fights impossible, so we going to replace the IF reciever, and put some RC or WLAN reciever inside. The rest, battery and motors staying the same, and the reciever is not that much diferent in size. So, everybody not worry, we would replace the IF problem before the contest. And for building and testing it not make some different. And about secret keeping, of course we not interested to show all secrets in detail to the "world", we just need info pictures or and videos, for documentation of how to use your mech and for repair it if something brocken in fight that would be happen for shure. But theres some info about this in detail in the contest ruiles. just take a look tonight or tomorrow, i try to put it online soon. nice greating, and thank you for the feedback, rayjunx

Rayjunx started following First planned LEGO MECH BATTLE in TV recruit mech-builder
-
Hello! Some months ago i already show a video about a full functional armed LEGO mech i build in this board. Then after we planed and announced a contest in nov. 2011 the production team of a popular German TV science show contact us and plan to bring a contest documentation in TV. Now we contact LEGO through this company and hope to find some sponsors. At the moment we only have the problem to find out how many LEGO Technic freaks like to create vehicles and mechs to be a part and oponent at the contest here in Germany, november 2011. Helpers and spectators welcome too. And its possible to send the creations if you not able to travel to germany. We have enough pilots. If you interested in the first LEGO mech battle contest and dream about showing your creation in TV, check out our webpage and contact me as soon as possible. I have to finish the first plan, including a estimate oponent number very soon. Thank you already for the feedback about the first mech videos i already posted here some months ago.
