  1. I guess we have a new hint as to what the lego version could resemble. http://www.topgear.c...ould-be-perfect If this is the case then it shoud explain the one flat piece in the top of the car, it just looks like the one in the real deal here. (Why would you use it there instead of the curved cover piece?) Only thing is that it does not have a rear spoiler. But maybe they do the regular 911 GT3 with this colour scheme, only in Orange stripes?
  2. You shouldn't forget about the "exploring factor" in playing, technic sets have a lot of functions which in other sets the kids have to imagine. Technic is less about playing and more about trying out different mechanics and exploring known ones - all that while achieving "realism". At least it was that way to me as a kid and is still like that today.
  3. We have to keep in mind that if it features a official porsche livery, the lego version will most likely feature a 2016 version of the Livery based on a Cup Version. I suspect that the very reason lego didn't show the colour scheme of the model is that the colour scheme of the 2016 racing livery for porsche cars is yet to be unveiled. (at least to my knowledge) The reveal of these will probably be on the Geneva Motor Show in March, where Lego too will likely present their finished version of the model.
  4. Not the 997 gt3 r hybrid version but the same colours, Orange and white are colours for PIP ("Porsche Intelligent Performance") thats why i suspect they use this scheme. Maybe it has something to do with the version of the 911 GT3 RS that will be used in Endurance Races or the Porsche Cup this year.
  5. So it's probably a 911 gt3 rs (based on the rims, they are the same) in a Porsche intelligent Performance livery.
  6. Up on closer inspection i think you both could be right, i doubt that it's a new piece or battery box/PF related. The part is shaded a bit on top of the knob wich defies the possibility for it to be http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3794#T=C. I guess it's one of the 5x7 or 5x11 Liftarms.
  7. Any Ideas as to what this grey part could be? It looks like its two knobs tall, but only has one in the center. could be one of these http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3794#T=C but i'm not sure as the outer edges look softer. Also why would they use that part here? There is nothing connected to it. Could it be a new part?
  8. The pic without camos is a photo-edit ^^
  9. knowing the possibilitys of print, its more the other way around.
  10. I'd love to see clean implementation of a brake system. Also a gear shifting system would be cool.
  11. No FWD since the real car doesn't have it. Also: Wow they sure didn't save on parts for the front hood structure.
  12. yeah i guessed that too :/ I may build the model one time following their instructions, and then rebuild it in a module way so that the mechanics are build around the chassis and not completely integrated. I think that if they do it that way, it could make the building process more interesting as it could give the "user" some glimps as to how the real car is built up.
  13. I really hope the Lego model is also build in such modules, would be really cool.
  14. Didn't someone say that it will be only aviable trough their own shop site? So it makes sense to not include it in a retailer catalouge.
  15. I think they will go with a colour that is mostly associated with Porsche and can be recognized in combination with its design by someone of the target group. I doubt that they will go for a Purple look, i understand that there probably as many reasons for it as there are against it but i really don't see them going for a violett. They will take a colour that works well with the shapes of the lego model, and appeals to the masses and looks good at the box art. Purple is a very trendy colour, someone who is interested in a white/black car will may not buy such a car, while one who prefers Purple will very likely buy a white/black version as Purple is extremely dependant on the taste of the viewer and mostly seen as a secondary/colour of choice. I could see them doing a white version, with red highlights and brown/black interior - or orange version with black highlights and mainly brown interiour. If its violett/purple it's a no buy for me.
  16. Most likely the Porsche then. Or literaly any set else :D
  17. Looks fantastic! Wish i had all parts to build it myself :(. Really like the way you integrated the gears for doors etc., great for playing. Subtle, but noticable enough to fiddle around with them.
  18. Maybe, just maybe they want to add something like a windshield wiper and thats the hole for it? Would be neat in my opinion.
  19. I imagine that we could be getting more information around the geneva auto show. (3. -13. March)
  20. The real Porsche does have a rear steering, its geared down a bit to help in turns and corners. Could be exclusive to claas tough.
  21. Guess you are right about that. But there would be a essential feature of the car missing if it doesn't have it.
