The Tie Striker's back seems to use a new dish piece with a hole in it (a 2x2 round plate fits in there). There's also a mechanism to angle the wings on the back.

Nevermind what I said about the Shuttle. It looks much better when looked at from above and the texture is great. The cockpit piece is really interesting. Probably still can't justify getting it :D Still don't fancy the U-Wing. Wanting the others now more than before :)

I was also a bit wondering about these new additions and why we haven't seen them in the OT. But it makes a lot of sense I think: Every single film in the OT also added new trooper variatiants or vehicles (Snowtroopers in ESB, Scout Troopers in ROJ, etc.) And the new things in Rogue One simply fill in the gaps. Shoretroopers obviously for beach landings etc., and the U-Wing as Rebel landing craft. The TIE striker is for aerial combat. I don't like the U-Wing too much, so I might only get the Jyn Erso minifig. And the shuttle is too bulky for my tastes, so I'll buy Krennic separately (and get the Death Troopers in the Battle Pack).

I think an update to the Scout Trooper helmet mold is overdue. Something similar to the ARF trooper or Clone Scout Trooper would be great. I actually can't believe Lego made the ARF trooper helmet mold in 2011, yet used the old Scout Trooper helmet mold in the 2013 Ewok Village.

Like Jang has explained in a lot of videos, Lego probably bases a lot of stuff on concept art, concept pictures etc. So they simply don't know some things have little or no screen time at all (e.g. First Order Snowspeeder), or get the colors wrong (Ahsoka's Lightsaber) because things change on Disney's end.

The Lego Winter train got leaked. Does that mean a Death Star leak is imminent?

Just for those wondering what the differences between the Shore and Tank troopers are:

I think the U-shaped Rebel Starfighter has quite some resemblance to the T-47 airspeeder. Not sure what to think of that TIE variation. I like the design, but do we really need yet another version?

I'm excited for the Resistance X-Wing (love the blue color scheme) and Encounter on Jakku. I hope Lor San Tekka comes with the X-Wing.
