You may want to check out this thread: 2012 Girls LEGO City Subtheme Discussion Thread Several pages of interesting info and opinions on the new girl theme.

Do you mean this one (1624 King's Archer)?

What a great find! Just out of curiosity, in which country do you live?

The Geisha / Kimono Girl is without a doubt one of my favorite female minifigs... and it gets even better when there are two of them! -
They could have included the (series 1) clown's horn / trumpet instead of the saxophone... I think that would have looked better. Because, I do agree, the saxophone looks a bit strange.

Oh wow, the Post Office looks absolutely lovely! Do we already have a (provisional) release date for this set? And I'm normally not into 'car sets' but that VW looks very impressive. Great color scheme too.

What a great looking MOC! So many details, love it!

linc1129, I totally follow your daughter's reasoning. Clever girl! I don't like to admit it, but I think Playmobil does a better job at creating sets for girls. They have a lot of sets that depict daily life such as the zoo, the school, animal clinic, hospital, pony ranch, vacation plus their impulse sets like a mom and a toddler, girl with baby goats, woman on mountain bike,... And I think that's exactly what girls like: reality, something that they are familiar with. After all girls play 'mommy' with their dolls (reality) while boys play 'sword fighting adventurer' (not so much reality). I'm exaggerating a bit of course, but I hope you know what I mean... Personally, if I could choose a subtheme for girls, I would go for a Lego circus.

Aw, I had never seen that set, it's kind of cute! I bought a bunch of S1 and S2 collectible minifigs for 1.50 EUR each... 1 of each: spartan, vampire, mime, weightlifter, magician, caveman and a nurse. 2 of each: deep sea diver, tribal hunter and zombie.

REVIEW: 8805 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5
iElkie replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks so much for this great review! I'm absolutely addicted to these minifig series and can't wait to get my hands on these! There are some absolutely stunning designs in this set. Just a few questions, if you don't mind: - Woodcutter: is it just the angle or is his cap a different format (flatter) than the baseball player's cap? - Cavewoman: does the hairpiece fit better than the rubber hairpiece of the Crazy Scientist? It looks like it... - Snowboarder: there is no logo or anything printed on his beanie hat, right? -
Decided to check out two flea markets today... Practically no Lego available, but I did find a MISB 2870 Paradisa Barbeque for USD 0.70 A tiny treasure that made me very happy

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
iElkie replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Have the 'single shots' of this series been posted already? Don't think so, right? Sorry if I accidentally overlooked them... Source: Lego Asia -
This is so good, I can almost hear Celine Dion singing... Seriously, very well done. And those sailor minifigs are just perfect for this MOC.
-
Wow, my jaw dropped when I saw these pictures. Absolutely wonderful style and so many little details. I can't stop looking at these. Great job, wooootles!

That stage and those stage curtains are insanely impressive! Not at all what I expected to see when I saw the thread title, but wow!
-
Great MOC! The painting work was a very original idea. And being from Belgium, I totally got the "language wink".
-
Beyond impressive, wow! The details in both buildings (interior and exterior) are stunning.

Took advantage of a 10% off promo at Dreamland, a Belgian chain of toy stores... 5766 Log Cabin for 22.50 EUR and 10199 Winter Toy Shop for 44 EUR.
-
Got a few small goodies: - 30000 Medic's Car - 7953 Court Jester - 7306 Golden Staff Guardians And then I hit the jackpot... 10185 Green Grocer What a beauty!

While I don't like stickers, I would love it if the pet shop had this old fashioned gold lettering on the window... Would look great with the sand blue, I think. *sings* How much is that doggie in the window... Woof woof! ;-)

TRU at Times Square still has a large number of Indiana Jones 7195 (Ambush in Cairo) sets for only $9.99... So I got one with this week's 10% discount. Also went to the Lego store at Queens Center: because of the USD - EUR conversion rate, I got the Medieval Market Village a bit cheaper than what I'd normally pay in Europe. Also got one of the Easter polybags and the Winter Village Bakery which is on sale for $38.50 Now I have to try and figure out how to get all these sets home safely... :-)
