  1. Ha! Yes. I fear it is too much of a challenge for me. It's a pity they didn't concentrate more on a bigger and more detailed base / hanger / control room with perhaps only the Ion gun sphere attached and leave out all of the other silly stuff that can easily be added from other readily available sets. If they followed that up with a UCS standard AT-AT based assault set then we'd have a lot of very happy AFOLs.
  2. Very cool!
  3. If that really is the set (I'm hoping this is just a huge misunderstanding) then they should remove the UCS label. If they don't, UCS no longer has any meaning. Or maybe UCS now stands for Unapologetically Cynical Sales, or Underwhelming Cr*p Set or something.
  4. The row of big yellow technic diggers, cranes, and bulldozers, on top of the bookcase is a dead giveaway to anyone who knows what Lego is; anyone else assumes the 'toys' belong to my kid. If someone notices and shows some interest I might show them what else lurks in the hobby room, otherwise meh, we'll talk about something else.
  5. I wouldn't; it's the Ghostbusters nostalgia that sells it for me.
  6. A UCS Sandcrawler 25% off
  7. TK421 - the stormtrooper sentry who walked up the ramp to help the 'scanning crew'.
  8. I only know this from other hobbies (why anyone would want to use glue on Lego is beyond me), but for what it's worth... MEK based glues are the only ones that will permanently bond the bricks and its easy to apply, dries quickly, and smells good (don't be fooled; it's carcinogenic). Just buy any MEK based liquid cement for styrene (e.g. Plastruct orange label). Cyano will hold it, but the bond weakens and can break when it gets hot (sun) or if subjected to shock loads (dropped). Forget water based stuff - it won't work.
  9. That discolourisation is caused by the propellant in the can - you were holding it too close. Compressed air courtesy of a compressor (i.e. no propellant) works well.
  10. Meh. Not as good as the original unless perhaps you want enhanced playability. I'll pass.
  11. Yes, it has sold very well.
  12. I was expecting Fat Albert, but welcome!
  13. I'm hoping for a new ANH Falcon, AT-AT, or Y wing.
  14. Just a quick hello from a now-registered lurker. I'm an AFOL who collects mainly big yellow Technic construction vehicles and Star Wars UCS (I always open them and build them), and I have a JFOL for whom I buy a lot of the City sets. Now back to lurking...
