Well, these are kid toys, so they don't really bother me as I just build them out. Now if they added them to UCS ( not play sets like the death star), it would bother me more.

Yes. Too tall, but the minifigure scale is soooo hard to deal with and everyone seems to have thier own sense of what it is. From my pov, it should be about 28 bricks/dots tall in the resting position. This one comes out to about 32.

I love this topic! When I look through threads and see one where someone puts thier work out there and others not only comment but work together to bring in ideas to make something better together makes me very proud to be a member! I was originally going to rebuild the entire thing, but will work with the rest of you to make this one even better! My highest hope is that when we get this one nipped and tucked, we can pick another set and do the same thing. As for where we are now, can you please be more specific in how you got two pilots in there? I'm just not getting it and it's high on my list of wanted mods. Also, I hate the legs myself and think they are too wide. Any input in making them thinner would be great. Thank you all!

I think I will look up the instructions, build what I want from pieces and save the $250. With everything else coming out this year it's $250 that won't be wasted.

Like the shuttle! Not fancy, but you know exactly what it is without being overdone. Basic bricks. One thing that bothers me ( not your model, just in general) is the one brick wing and the two plate wings. Is it that hard to do all brick wings? I will need to try that myself and find out.

I have only been collecting for a few years, but I find myself appreciating the "old school" look and builds to most of the modern builds for exactly the same reason you give. I am not a fan of just throwing stuff on a model just for the sake of doing it. Bricks, plates and slopes. While I am new to moc, this is definetly "my" style. I really appreciate this and look forward to more.
