  1. Very nice build! I like the use of the slopes for the roof (I need to steal borrow that idea), and the stairs! The façade is a great mixture of details and plain wall.
  2. Thank you! I hope I don't make a mess of this. As soon as Dhl and the swedish postal system hand me my latest orders I will show you the mayor himself.
  3. Thanks! It was hard as youknowwhat to get that roof up without a wall on the other side. The weight of the roof bent the wall, so it was a quick setup, fast shooting and then taking the roof of again. I could stand for about 30 minutes, if there is no vibrations. As for WoT, I first bashed a few names together for my first characters. Now I think I won't bash them any more, as it gets confusing for me. I didn't take any of the story, just names, and of course a bit of Aludras profession. Thanks! I realise that it didn't show so well on the pictures posted here, but there is a bucket of spilled red paint. Nope, it's from the latest CMF series, the janitor. Well, I stole some characters names so far. I have an idea of making lots of vigs from the series, but that idea is shelved for now. Thanks! As stated above, it's supposed to be paint. Noted about the sewer. The idea at first was to build modular style, adding more and more of the factory, but the roof is to heavy not to have an opposite wall.
  4. Well, the roof was an experiment. And maaaaaybe I get inspiration from WoT.
  5. After navigating the streets of Breshaun Lan and Gawyn arrives at what used to be Aludras workshop "Hey Aludra!" Lan greeted her. "How are you? What have you done to this place? It's large!" "It burnt down. Too much sulphur. What do you want? I've got lots of work to do." "Straight to business, eh?" "I could just have you thrown out, or perhaps jailed." "Sorry Aludra. The thing is that we ran into some problems during my expedition. You see, the gunpowder acted up strange. Sometimes it burned very quick, and sometimes not at all." "Strange... I have lots to do on the cannons right now. With all the ships and forts being built. The crown wants more all the time. I do have an idea how to fix your problem. On one condition. If you ever are attacked by the Corries, do what ever you can to send death in their face." "Do you have anything against them?" "I'll need supplies, lots of it. Salpeter, cotton... If you can't farm it, buy it. Lots of it." "Sure, sure. As long as you promise it will work. If it doesn't, lots of soldiers might die. "Oh, it will work." "But Aludra, tell me what you've got against the Corries." "The raid against Poseidons Crest. My parents was there..." Little did they know about the man eavesdropping on them from the drain... This is my second freebuild this month, showing a part of Aludras workshop where gun carriages are being painted. Critics and comments are welcome, as usual! More photos can be found at my Flickr page.

  8. Thanks! Senator Palpatine has switched occupation. Thank you! I mostly stole the bakery from the Elves set. I bought it just to get a door and a window quick, so why not use some other parts? The flowers was my girlfriends idea. It sure looks more alive with such a small thing. I considered having the window in the middle, but I thought it looked ever more weird. Ah, just wait until I can publish the next part of the story. Then you will hear about those pesky Corries! Thanks! I'll try to remember that for the next build! Roofs is a thing I need to practice, and I need more techniques for it. I simply used the slopes I had. So true! Next time I'll try some other technique for the roof so it gets less of a slope, making it not so tall. An attic would have been a good idea too. Thanks! Thanks! It's a warehouse for good being unloaded from ships, and then sold to local merchants. Thanks! €70 worth of windows is ordered, but I'll need more types. Thank you. I'll try to get some good contrast colours in the upcoming builds. I used trans-black mainly because I don't have so much regular trans tiles, but as it is a harbour area the water should be deep(ish). Now in hindsight I should have added a few small waves. Thank you so much for all the comments so far!
  9. Lan Bashere and his apprentice Gawyn has returned to LeBellan in order to meet Aludra, who hopefully will be able to help them out with problems regarding the gunpowder used in the new colonies. "Finally back ashore!" Lan said. "I don't really like ships." "It was a long time since I saw so many people." Gawyn answered. "How are we going to find Aludra?" "Well, I know where her workshop is. We just have to walk to the other side of the town." "Ah..." "But master Lan... Perhaps we could get a little something to eat before? The bread on the ship was always full of weevils." "Boy, do you think I'm made of money? We can eat after we find Aludra." And so Lan and Gawyn began navigating the streets of Breshaun. This is my first freebuild this month, showing a part of the port in Breshaun. The Tan building has a bakery in the bottom floor with living quarters on the second floor. The sand green building is a warehouse, with some shady business going on with the newly arrived apples and peppers on the ground floor, and a street merchant out front, showing some tools for the passers by. And Yes, I need more windows. Critics and comments are welcome! More photos can be found at my Flickr page.
  10. Simple but genius build! I like how you made the border around and "lifted" the ground to make the hole.
  11. Thanks! I thought of it as camouflage. Just pull down the flag and the enemy won't know you're there. I first made the spikes of 1 x 1 round bricks, but they looked so large! Imo the bars are much better. :) I also love equipment. The hard thing is to find the good stuff and not make it too cramped and unvaried. Thanks! As soon as I can go to Ikea I will copy Gideons photo background setup. :)

  13. This is my entry for challenge 2A, Protect and defend. First I want to show the build in two angles, then we go on with the story: Following the escape from the strange island where Lan Bashere saw strange natives he landed on an island not too far away. The commander of the soldiers on board the ship immediately began with preparations for defence of the area. A task Lan was asked to help plan and design. This scene is a few months later, when the first bulwark is nearing completion. "Thank Poseidon you are here Lan!" said Daerid Ondin, the commander. "I have something I must discuss with you! "Oh? What could it be, huh?" "I have a problem" Daerid responed quietly. "Grog?" "Well, as long as you know it yourself. No thank you." "You see, it's the gunpowder. It is so humid here the gunpowder is acting up strangely." "Let me guess, it burns different?" "If it burns at all! I've had the carpenters making spears and crossbows just as reserves, but we have nothing matching the cannons as reserve. A canister shot could break any attack." "Hum... I'm not able to do so much myself, but I have a friend in Le Bellan who would know a solution to this." "Who? I'll have a message sent with the next ship!" "She would not respond. She does things for strange reasons. I must go to her myself." "But what about the defence? You don't mean we should settle for this!" "I will help you work out the blueprints before I go. But it will be hard work for you." "Hard work? I've had that my whole life!" "Well, when I go, the sailors will be needed on the ship. You won't be that many, mostly soldiers. I can give the coordinates so more ships will sail here." "What you can do" Lan continued " is to clear land and gather stones and timber. You will need lots of both." "And food. My soldiers need food." "Just make sure that you don't exterminate the animals. If you breed them you'll be able to last longer. Here," Lan said as he drew on the paper "is what I want you to do..." Thanks for reading, and if you want to see more of my poor pictures, here's the link: https://www.flickr.com/gp/132731494@N02/T92H1f Critics and comments are most welcome!
  14. First off, sorry for not responding earlier. I find myself lacking time to write, but I do read. A big thank you for being constructive! There is a reason that the ground is so bare, that no one has commented on yet: There is a cave, but it looks just black on the pictures. The idea was that the natives lived there, and as you may know, if you walk over and over again (or dance!) the grass will die, and it will be just mud. I'll try to make it more clear next time, and add more details. Thanks! I do wonder if they will return...? I do have two ideas for future builds, hopefully I will start with them soon.
  15. Previous post: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=119634 After examining the statue, Lan and the bodyguard slowly moved inland. The island seemed to be very flat, but going up a small hill they heard a noise. It sounded like some kind of throat singing. "Stop." Lan quietly said. "I think we are not alone." "I think it's coming from the other side of the crest." the guard replied. "You stay here. I will go up and see what it's all about. If I come running, you run too." "But what if they see you? Perhaps they... Eat people..." "I'll hide behind this." Lan said and cut off a branch full of leafs. Sneaking towards the crest, the noise got louder. Lan realised he would be on top of a cliff. Looking down, he saw them! They were dancing around some kind of bush Lan hadn't seen before. The yellow flowers seem to drag him towards them. The spell was broken when Lan saw what was laying under the bush. A skull. Definitely they would try to eat him if he was seen. He backed away, and after a few meters he turned and walked down to the guard. "Let's go! But quiet mind. We need to be out of here!" Had Lan only stayed for a few more minutes he had seen the natives sacrifice their dead to the plant. I know the quality of the photos, and the background, ain't that great. I photographed this at the same time as the last build I posted, so hopefully the next one will have some better photos. A few more pictures can be found in the album. https://flic.kr/s/aHsksC9VbD Feedback is appreciated.
  16. I have an idea of what to build, but I don't understand the rules for property at all. I am considering to just build for the fun of it, but it would be fun to build an economy as well.
  17. Sorry for not responding earlier. All work and no play makes me a dull boy... Thanks! I made the statue with the flatness in mind. It will come later in the story. ;) Thanks G! I'm lacking parts in olive green (plates and tiles!), and putting in some of the same green as the ground made it look strange. I have a small "photo tent", packed away since I recently moved. I had to take what I could, and it turned out to be an unironed bedsheet. And I was in a hurry to get it the photos taken before the short week was over. I hope the photos will get better in the photo tent, and I'll try to include a better overview shot in the future. :) Thanks for the comments! A lack of colours in my palette, but it will expand. :) Thank you! About the rowboat, my idea was that he tried to hold the boat at the shore, putting the oars against the bottom to stabilize it. Now when I look at it, it just looks odd when the oars are on top of the water like that. I didn't want to get too much overhang (or am I misinterpretating the rules..?). I wanted to include more foliage in the trees, but again, lack of parts. Thank you all for your comments! They will help me build (and photograph) better in the future. :) Hopefully my ch1a, built at the same time, will be published tomorrow.

  19. After some hard weeks at sea, land has finally been sighted! But through the spyglass the lookout saw something strange, a strange shape. When Lan heard of this he demanded ha would be put ashore there as soon as possible to examine what the shape was, and how it was built. An officer on the ship appointed one soldier to follow as an bodyguard. There was not much more room left in the small boat, but Gawyn jumped in when it was lowered into the water. "Gawyn! This could be extremely dangerous!" Lan said. "But I want to see it! I didn't come here to stay on the ship all along." "You came here to do as I tell you. You stay in the boat until I tell you to come ashore. We don't know what's out there in the forest! And you," Lan said, talking to the bodyguard, "you do as I tell you too. No firing of that rifle unless it is absolutely necessary!" The helmsman slowly got them closer to land. A wind blew, but not much moved in the forest. "Helmsman, you and the boy wait here for us. Lets go!" "Boy..." Gawyn muttered. "At least I brought a game game of snakes and foxes. Do you want to play?" he asked the helmsman. "I know you are my bodyguard, but I go first. And do as I tell you!" Lan said to the bodyguard again. "Now, what is that... And how was it made..."
  20. This was on purpose. Good that you spotted it! S II could have been written by anyone... The plot thickens... ;)
  21. Nice story! I like the stone head!
  22. Thanks for the comments this far! It will help me improve. I didn't want to cramp the room with too much things, as I feared it would take the power of the pictures. I could use more texture in the walls, but I was afraid to over do it. :-) And I'm not the worlds best photographer. I recently moved, so all stuff is still stored away. For some builds (coming up tonight, fingers crossed) I've used other settings, hopefully bettering the lightning. Thanks for your comments this far!
