LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Syn replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm just going to jump into this conversation and ask, am I the only one that's just really not impressed with any of the minifigs from this Series? I mean every series up to this I've seen one or two that I genuinely want but this one I see no point in spending any money on. I don't know maybe it's just me. -
I love the gorillas chasing the guy down the street! your attention to detail is fantastic! great job!
-
that's a big void lol

Zombies? you lost me there man. there was a DLC that had zombies? but that's not the whole game? but anyways I just thought you would enjoy them because they are so unique and with your talent could really pull it off. I pretty much like all of your game based Minifigs they are all high quality.

I think it would be interesting to see since they have so much detail like the Psychos, and midget psychos, Lilith, the Hunter, and the soldier.

Man that looks great again, love your RE5 Minifigs, I can't wait to see Shiva and Jill. Ever put any thought into doing some Borderland minifigs?

Offset "Brick" look in LDD
Syn replied to Syn's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
which 1x2 plate are you talking about? because the one that I am using (the non engraved one in LDD extended) will only go from one side or to the other side. or am I missing something? -
I'm working on a moc that's part of a bigger project when I found that I need to make a "Brick" like pattern, as that of a redbrick building. I posses the skills to do this but I run into a problem of not being able to offset the bricks on LDD. Is there any way around this problem? or is it more something I'm just going to have to deal with? thanks for any help given. Syn

That looks fantastic!! where did you get all that orange! it looks so good!? and those stickers look almost like they are original from Lego, the are your own design right?

I second this, I need to decided if I'm actually going to purchase this or not. from the sounds of it It might fall "SHORT" of my expectations.

I'm not sure if this is the right place but, I just wanted everyone to know we had some pretty bad storms here a tornado touched down with a 1/2 mile (.8 km) damage path causing major damage. No reports of any dead but there are some injured I'm sure there will be a lot more reported as of tomorrow. Admin lock if you want/have to I just wanted everyone to know so they can keep the families in there prayers as we do have a lot of AFOLS here in the States and I'm not sure if anyone was hurt or not that frequents this forum. I'm ok a little shook up but Ok. thanks Syn.

man you know I hate to say it because LEGO already builds these as there go to restaurant but it looks like a Pizza place. Don't get me wrong your off to a great start! It just looks like this pizza joint that I have here called Brick Oven pizza. I notice some grand emporium techniques in there as well! I look forward to seeing the completed thing!
-
man this is amazing! how many Fire Brigades and Grand Emporiums did you use to make this?
-
kind of reminds me of MechWarriors Great game, Nice work!

My main concern about this though is that I have invested a lot of money in base plates and road plates. if they were to transition from base plates to standard plates there would be no way to match them up. also the 16x32 plates are the perfect size for the project that I am about to embark on, as well as two together make them the same size as the road plate. I've not encountered the 12 stud alley problem that you speak of as of yet. I have a set of 3 buildings that I'm working on that equal out to 64x32 which would be two road plates. But I only use road plates for my town, and your right I don't use the curved plates unless there isn't anything there as if it is a field going out of town I mainly use straight, T and 4 ways. Another question to be raised would be why would they be doing this now? I mean the extra large base plate has been around since around, what, 1965? I mean you bring up a few really good points but, why change something that has worked so well for so long. AFOLs go for details but kids just want things to fit.

Dear Lego or whom it may concern, I am an avid AFOL, I purchase your product almost every week. I decided it was high time that I went and embarked on a project that was going to take a long time to build and a lot of parts. I upgraded LDD to the most current version and got ready to do some modeling of the buildings I am wanting to portray, only to find there are NO more base plates of ANY size. More specifically the 16x32 base Plate in GRAY. This is really the only base plate I am concerned with as if I need to make grass I can use the new Green Plates that you have made available. But my issue goes deeper than that, you can now no longer get any base plates on the Lego Website other than the 32x32 green and Blue large base plate, and the 48x48 Gray extra large base plate. Please don't tell me that you are planning on phasing out the base plates in favor of these new plates as seen in the Log Cabin. I have never liked anything other than your Base plates for well, the BASE of my buildings. Is this a temporary thing? are you revamping the design? or are you phasing out to make room for these new plates? I would be rather upset if you phased out the base plates in whole or in part. Please bring back at the very least the 16x32 base plates. These are cleaner, make better looking models, and when I purchase the set off LDD, they still WORK with my city that I have built thus far with the official and MOCS of my own. Sincerely, Upset AFOL.

Ahh gotcha. Well I unlocked that last night but my problem is even with the baseplates I'm not going to know which parts I can order and which parts I can't. This really sucks, I hope that with the Log Cabin this isn't a precursor to Lego doing away with baseplates because I can't STAND the plates that the log Cabin uses. Anyways back on topic, is there a way for me to check which bricks can be ordered and which can not?
-
excuse my ignorance but what is LE?
-
no more baseplates? I just upgraded tonight and to be honest I am not happy at all! I was about to start on a project only to find that they are not offering the 16x32 base plates anymore!? am I correct on this or am I just not seeing it somewhere? and if so I guess I need to stock up on Apple Tree Houses for another reason.

I am Speechless, Absolutely speechless. This is wonderfully spectacular. this with all the details that you've made for the inside. its truly and inspiration to build like this.

HA! that's awesome!!! You did a great job on this! It has detail that I wouldn't have even thought to put in there. Its small and has so much going for it! great job!!!!
