I thought the price went up for the PF trains because the PF components added to the price of the set. Take $90-$100 for RC/9v, then add the cost of adding PF equipment based on the current ones TLG has for sale. about $30-40 more

I hope for Kingdoms we get 2 new factions, since TLG likes using past factions again (Lion/Dragon Knights) and to to draw from the Fantasy Castle line which had two new factions as well, it would be cool to see Forestmen and Black Falcons as the new factions. The Forestmen could be neutral and the Black Falcons could either be allied with the Lion or Dragon Knights or separate. For City yes rumors of a Hospital/Rescure comeback and for Civilian a Zoo/Wildlife subtheme are high. I really hope it is true A new arctic theme would be cool I hope they do it more explore/ real life instead of humans vs mutant creatures. They could for example have poachers or so catching seals/whales/penguins/fossils etc. And have an Arctic exploration team try and stop them etc. Some great new animal molds for the wildlife and other cool parts.

What is your favorite Service Station in Lego City
Piranha replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Town
why must you do this to me?? I have been waiting for TLG to do a new Service Station since I missed the 07 one which I loved and is crazy priced on the aftermarket. I really liked the Shell branding ones and the one that also featured the Ferrari branding is hilarious, how I wish they would do a new Shell branded one again. However I like the Octan branding just as much. There are too many great ones for me to pick; Metro park and Service station are brilliant, how I would love a modern set like that! Not to mention the classic red motorcycle which I still think is still TLGs best representation of a motorcycle to date. -
How cheap is cheap? TLG sells it in 2 packs, points and straight/flex as you mentioned which is average priced if you can find it in a LEGO store, Bricklink has alot of every kind of track ever made by TLG. Ebay also has alot for sale right now.

so it is not a City subtheme anymore? The horse and porcupine sound interesting.
-
Contrary for the Targets I have visited the LEGO section is getting bigger and better with TRU type displays too. Must vary by location.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Copmike for posting in this thread, although TLG sees no plans currently for a new Monorail system I will never say die and always keep it in their ear. Yes, however there is one difference between comparing BIONICLE to Monorail, BIONICLE is/was simply just a theme that had a long manufacture time and was replaced by the next generation called HERO FACTORY. Now for a cross example I will mention 4.5v, 11v and 9v and RC/PF Trains. Now the concept of a train is beyond what I would refer to as a theme, although there is a theme called Trains, it is simply more than a theme it is a staple. Each system TLG felt the need to go to the next generation. Now I can say the same for Monorail, it is possible TLG can make a next generation version, lets call it 2G Now hoping for a past theme to come back I would say is less likely to happen then to TLG bring the concept of a Monorail back in a next generation type set. Yes, you reminded me that in several of the Coruscant scenes in SW, for example in a flyover or a city view you can see the maglev/monorail trains going by. They could actually do one based on EP2/EP3 and have some main characters and such going to the senate or Jedi Temple etc. For example in the set we could a good selection of track with a rise and incline and maybe a simple or advanced loop. Then the train can be 2-3 cars and 2 stations and maybe some side structures. Which would mean some separate buildings could also be offered, which would be cool. Yes I agree with you very much.

Yes it would be, especially since the Lion Knights don't have a Knight with the visor yet. There was something similar to it in the 2010 Kingdoms Advent Calender. And it had the Lion Knights Queen as well, why not in the US TLG? Also there is going to be a special 10000 series set, a joust? I hope it isn't going to be one of those extravaganza theme enders like MMV or IFS

Where is that pictured?

I don't know if this is your refrence but in the Clone Wars, before EP3 what happened was the Chancellor was riding on a Maglev/Monorail Train on Coruscant and General Grievous attacks the maglev and captures Palpatine, but Mace Windu tries to stop him and crushes his chestplate giving GG that "cough" . For a better reference than my story check Wookiepedia I think that would make a cool set if it was done in EP3 style, i.e no animated faces as I don't think it has been featured in the CGI CW series yet.

Thanks for the review. I really like this Train set, since I already own 7939 this is a great compliment. You get 3 new/different cars, a great shunter Loco, and a red battery box. Plus throw in all that track and PF and we have a winner. I am surprised at the piece count, higher than I expected which makes it even better. The Matience car reminds of the glory days of 9v, guess this is the glory days of PF as we have 5 Trains on the market right now!!! The ballast loader is great and matches the new Harbor set . As well as the Farm from 2009. The box car and ballast wagon are nice additions and will look good being pulled by my BNSF. 4 minifigs is good, I like the selection, however no engineer but oh well I have Max already. I rate this set as Outstanding.

Hey KD, yes the new POTC bottles would be of great use in a WW theme! As well the new gold bars! And not to mention the scabbard for the Colonel or other Union Officers.
-
Yup like LT said, blinders. Although the detail is great, I would have preferred normal eye print (more versatile) because this is the first grey LEGO horse and we could have used it for mounted knights etc but now it is forever a peasant horse.

AudoBrick : Manage your collection
Piranha replied to Audosoft's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hello I think this is nice but it has some problems, it kept crashing for me alot during the updates. The price is much too expensive, $0.99 to $4.99 I might think about buying. (Yes based on apps) The demo version needs a higher brick limit like 50,000-100,000. To try out some of the advanced features. That is all for now, it is very unstable and I am having trouble with it. -
REVIEW: 8805 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5
Piranha replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the great review WhiteFang I think series 4 is the best so far but this one has some cool figs as well. I particularity like the Zoo Keeper and Lumber jack. -
Also where is everyone getting the idea of a Hobbit theme? I don't see TLG ever doing a license on it. Seems a bit dreaming if you ask me, there might as well be a Avatar theme coming too. Now as for a return of Batman, that is most welcome especially after what the past sets are selling for.

Wow this is an awesome MOC, I love everything about it, all the little details, it is just great! Is it built on a single 48x48 baseplate?
-
I am thinking of either a Kingdoms Target Practice Polybag or Series 1 Forestman, both are in the same price range on ebay.
-
For City there are some possible new editions like Construction, Hospital but I personally would like to see a Zoo and a Town Square. For Kingdoms more civilian sets like a house, tavern maybe etc and a new faction of Forestmen, possible new cypress tree in dark green, deer and a noble for them to rob I do not want to see a Hobbit theme ever, it would end castle, like POTC ended classic pirates, for now. I think the new kingdoms sets are some of the best ever, and don't want it replaced by another license

What is the other one?

But hes a party pooper Yes I agree with these statements, alot of the elements already exists to do a Monorail now, Power Functions I believe is a huge step forward because now Trains and other motorized sets can be all motorized using a compatible system. We have the XL Motor which can be used for a gear box, the battery pack, IR and Remote. Then it is simply a matter of doing the brickbuilt monorail which I think looks better than prefab anyway. However there is one part I would like to see new molds and that is prefab new monorail track or similar to the old, it doesn't really matter, I just think prefab would look and be more functional like with the prefab train track. That being said, at least a long straight, curve and the elevated ramp (because that is what really takes it "next level") should be prefab.

Sets containing piratical and/or complimentary elements!
Piranha replied to Berry Syedow's topic in LEGO Pirates
+1 to Mill Village Raid containing loads of useful parts. Also not to forget MMV. The musketeer has some great bits, a rapier and his hat. -
wow awesome job here, all the details are incredible.

I thought it worth mentioning that in the concept artwork for a fans choice set for TRU, the options were a Truck Stop, City Square or a Public Transport System/Center. In the Public Transport artwork there was a throwback of Airport Shuttle and clearly showed a train or monorail on elevated track. Now this got everyone's hopes up that perhaps if it won we would get a new monorail system, that is what I surely thought. What was the result? The Public Transport Center won the voting, but we didn't get a new Monorail. Now the set TLG did produce has its merits but I feel sad they didn't do a Monorail. It makes you think, that had in the concept artwork a monorail had not been featured, what would have been the outcome? I for myself would have picked the City square. What I am trying to say is that the monorail in the concept art I believe was the reason why the Public City Transport won and that it is still very popular among not only fans but the general public. As to regard to profitability I would just like to say that can be counted as old data from the past and not really relevant for today's market.
