  1. Hmm that new batwing from TDKR is definitely different (like the tumbler was) however I like it, it is more realistic and best of all has that stealth look. I would be happy to see that, a new bat tumbler (not as large as the last but smaller and still as much details) and a batpod. If any of those are the vehicle in the batcave set that would be great! I wonder what the new batcave will be like? anything like the old? maybe Wayne manor above?
  2. Would love to see these Forestmen Nobles Black Falcons Vikings Crusaders Highlanders/barbarians Civilians/peasants
  3. also don't forgot the original 1999 EP1 Battle droids had brickbuilt back packs aswell which I still like to use on all my droids today.
  4. I wonder if they will design a new barding pattern for the Lion Knights to make the set even more awesome
  5. what is different about that Jack, you can make him if you have Jack w/hat and w/o hat versions. Unless his face has a different reverse, still not worth the $30 IMO though.
  6. Yeah I agree in the brand stores they should carry a PF Train bundle.
  7. I agree which would mean the end of Kingdoms, too much IP personally for me, it would probably tank with the public like PoP and POTC. I don't believe the removed by request either above usually a mod would do that, not the OP.
  8. Nah I still have to disagree, all we can draw is that it is preview edition not limited or special edition. What you get is a little special card and the fig attached to it distributed at CC. Then in the line next year or summer the same figs will appear in sets. Are they going to make another green lantern when they already designed one?? As for Batman that one will probably appear in the sets based off the "Dark Knight Rises" as I think he looks perfect for it. Just like the SW SDCC promos you get "special" packaging but pay a price for that and for a preview/early release. Back to the sets though, any chance we see a new Bat Tumbler and/or/with Batpod? Possibly as the vehicle in the batcave?
  9. Sounds cool, feel free to share with us your rendition of the station on the box art of the EN.
  10. Awesome can't wait to see your work
  11. Oh yes I think I recall the extra wheels purpose. Back when this set was first released there was as you mentioned problems with drivertrain failure and various problems with the gears and pistons jamming which is to be expected because in regards to LEGO this is a a fairly complex setup going on, which makes the EN special and cool at the same time Well anyway Jamie Beard one of the set designers mentioned in a topic they had supplied extra parts and corrected the instructions to fix the drivertrain failure in the later production runs 2010 or later I think it was. Therefore the later runs have a few more parts than the first and different instructions for some of the gear box steps to fix the problem. I can only suspect that the extra wheels were packaged with the extra parts who knows why maybe they loose traction overtime on the rubber bands? yes because everyone else who has this set in the newer production runs got 2 extra wheels. I had the first edition run and the drivertrain did fail constantly and I didn't have any extra parts, I ordered a second one last week and hope it is a later production run
  12. Yes sadly that is probably true from what we have seen from the large releases, EN 2009, MT 2011. Every two years or so we get a new large exclusive so not until 2013. But the good news is I have plenty to catch up on so I am in no rush. There are currently 5 Train sets on the market + 2 side structures and track! unheard of since 9v! However I would not put it above TLG to sneak a new set in most likely a side structure like an Engine Shed. also I must admit flex track is very useful for my layouts and I thank TLG for making it.
  13. a bit off topic but has any of your work been in any released sets yet?
  14. this sounds like it is going to be good and the removing of the set name and number is pretty much direct confirmation from TLG that it is going to be a set. I hope it has over a thousand parts, well done Joust area with seating for the peasants and quite a few civilian included, maybe even some tents? Can't wait to see pics.
  15. the Emerald Night Express before it gets discontinued!
  16. I would say IMO that this the best castle theme I have seen in 20 years. For the first time we got a civilian set in a general theme (MMV is more D2C) It has great sets, no real story line but general ideas that can be built upon allowing for imagination. I myself would prefer it never to end, would like to see Forestmen and Blackfalcons return as new factions and loads of possible civilian sets. Can't wait to see pictures of the new Joust set which I fear may mean the ending of the theme (like IFS and MMV before it) Good thing it will be an extravaganza though at least for kingdoms
  17. Hey a great review Brickdoctor! also surprised to see you in this forum as SW is your usual stomping ground I see your a Train fan now eh? For me personally they are awesome and if I had to choose between Trains and SW, I would pick Trains every time, there is just something fantastic about them. I purchased this set in 2009 but due to an odd circumstance had to return it and have wanted it back ever since so after reading your review I ordered one today I feel the time is almost up for this set (end of the year I would guess) as the Maersk Train is pretty much its replacement and I would consider both me and you very lucky that it is still for sale. I can see this easily bringing $300 + when its discontinued on aftermarkets. I haven't seen such a train so gaudy to look at since I built my Super Chief (which you should look into buying aswell ) A good question and one of my principal worries as well. I have 7939, a BNSF and a Super Chief and will have the EN on the same track, they are pretty much the same scale being L-Gauge and look good I think. How does it fit in for me? Well I look at as a nostalgic EN on the tracks. It is as you mentioned inspired by the LNER Scottsman and Tornado the latter was used up until to 2007 in real life. So I think it will fit in fine with other trains, it is just a different type. Also an interesting fact from Railbricks that the LRTS does not stand for anything in particular it stands for whatever you want it to like LEGO Railroad Train System or LEGO Railroad Train Service
  18. One of the main reasons I rarely buy on BL anymore for parts is I get the sets that have them in them because I get all the other goodies that come with it. The same applies for trains although I appreciate the option to buy separate track, PF and locos.
  19. wow that is awesome right there Mike
  20. Although plausible I agree it looks fake.
  21. LEGO does not make commercials for every single theme nor do they need to. Only new and current popular sellers like SW and City consistently get commercials. I would assume people who purchase LEGO don't need motivation to buy
  22. Yes I would too if the ARC does indeed look like that. As to why Red or Blue earlier, I meant the stripes or markings sorry if you thought I meant the whole suit of armor being blue like a senate guard
  23. I have never seen any other promos for LEGO other than walking in the LEGO aisle.
  24. $20 is decent, 4 figs, escape pod and swoop bike (maybe a plate with some tan bricks or so for scenery) Yes green would be excellent to make the Jet Trooper, although Gree could also work or the Horn Company Trooper, all close enough But I will be happy with whatever color they choose (hoping for red or blue)
  25. I actually have read that Kingdoms is selling better than the Fantasy era before. Any news on the Joust set? (I hope it has some trees, if it is a 100 series set it should be massive and well done ) yes if it is the last kingdoms set I will be happy with it. But I hope it isn't I want more Civilian sets and Forestmen first
