I may be in the minority but I think most of these sets offer improvements from the previous versions. But I really wanted to see a new Bat Tumbler. For example the first Bat mobile was way to long and big and I didn't like, but this new smaller and compact one I really like. The previous Batcave wasn't much like a cave more like some platforms and such. This one has some LURPs and a more cave feeling and overall I find it really neat. The new Bat Cycle is very promising. I have to admit I am partial to it. Plus Bane on a giant drill is hilarious. Overall my favorite of the line up. Also maybe we will get a Wayne Manor. However I panicked and got the SDCC Batman because I didn't see any in the sets (which would mean price jump) I did get it for $25 which is cheap enough to risk it being in any future sets yet still getting a good a fig, also the most I have spent on a fig ever. and the SDCC material attached to it is always going to be an exclusive.

oh yes that would be much welcome a TV News crew and van and also some press minifigs.

true but the Governors Daughter is more comparable to the Princess than the Falcon Knight because a whole new faction couldn't have been hinted at from the Governor's Daughter that was just a new fig thrown in to sweeten the deal. The Falcon Knight while possibly just thrown in so we wouldn't get two of the same knights with bardings but also has a new coat of arms and would be a good way to introduce a new rival faction to the Lion Knights. So in the end this could swing either way but I was caustically optimistic when I saw they had put in a new Black Falcon. Teaser or not. No where is it mentioned that the Falcon Knight is a Dragon Knight disguised but it is possible there is an alliance or so. I actually think they designed this set for a mounted Dragon Knight but scraped it at the last minute for a new Black Falcon not to outrage fans for getting two same old mounted knights -
Correct they often use pieces in different colors that already exist as stand ins, they also can use clay as we have seen for really rough prototypes. I have heard otherwise. But red is definitely the most common.

I think the Batcave has always been at the $70 price point.
-
new molds are often tested in red, white, trans clear and a few other colors because they show any stress marks easier. Hence why there is a red Darth Vader helmet and a red C3PO head (before R3PO)

Now I don't know what is true and what isn't Hopefully the upcoming NYCC will be able to tell us exactly when they are being released. (Because if they have a finalized Batcave set it probably will have a placard saying piece count/release date hopefully)

just won an SDCC Batman fig on ebay for $25 I almost had it for $15 then in the last few seconds of the auction got bid up and a mad dash for the bid bottom I managed to pull that one out *phew*

we got quite a few figs relevant to that theme from the CM. I also like that one Circus Arena MOC awhile back in the LDD contest fourm. But yes sadly no zoo it is looking like this year

Interesting yet still confused, from those press releases: Ok LEGO says that SUPERHEROES is starting in January... Ok that is confirmation that the Marvel sets will be in May. Now Regarding the DC Superheroes Ok so there are indeed going to be sets in January 2012. So basically maybe Brick Heroes has incorrect information because those statements are direct from TLG. That the DC sets will be in January and the Marvel sets in May. Also I found interesting Robin in the Batcave is identified as just Robin, The Riddler and Bruce Wayne are nowhere to be seen in those pictures. Dealer exclusives maybe or what appears to be The Riddler flying the helicopter in the Batwing set. thus leading to the conclusion all those figs are in all those sets.

yes finally pictures, thank you Brick Heroes! My first impression wow these are super prelims (no pun intended) Overall I would say I like the Batcave and Batmobile set the best. I owned the original Batcave and I remember spending over 8 hours building it because the 1000+ parts were not in numbered bags plus it was too floating structure-ish for me like an oil rig platform and didn't feel very cave like to me. The Batblade was terribly flimsy and broke often when picked up. this new Batcave is awesome I must say, I really like the "cave entrance" plus all the structures are actually pretty good and avoid the oil rig platform syndrome. It is also a good value at $70. I was hoping for Alfred and a better Bat vehicle like the tumbler but I hope the bat cycle will be good. also I do see what appears to be two black suited batmans in the the Double Face and Batwing sets?? but it could be that they will not be the SDCC one, if you look at the Batcave set there is a Black suited batman pictured in the change chamber and the torso print is different, so possibly it could be a different black suited Batman in those sets and not the SDCC one. The others are all obviously grey suited. There are three possibilities for this 1. We get the SDCC Batman in those two sets 2. We get them in the summer TDKR sets 3. We don't get them at all EDIT: So these are May sets and not January??? I guess NYCC will confirm or deny this.

this is awesome, basically limitless in what we can bring -
I still think a LOTR theme is not going to happen...ever. Lets take a look at license themes for a minute, with the most successful, Star Wars, branded across all markets widely popular and a staple LEGO theme since 1999. There have been few and far between themes that have the staying power of SW. Even Indiana Jones was short lived in comparison, which I miss and want back. Batman lasted from 2006-2008 only a brief two years and I always under the impression they didn't sell well leading to a shocking after market price. I don't think LOTR has the fan base of any of those above mentioned themes to even be considered for a LEGO theme. I still think it is a distant fantasy stewed up incontinently. That all being sad I think Kingdoms will continue on with a new faction of Black Falcons and possibly Forestmen as a neutral faction which would surely make for an interesting and exciting future.

It would be fine with me if they left the skin like that permanently too -
True I agree that 2005 was the foundation for the current line of very nice city sets, however I really felt in 2007 was when they became exceptional in design

Maybe its the same princess for the Lion Knights wearing a different dress? After all this sets fig lineup could have been terrible imagine we got all repeat figs, the Lion Princess from the Tower Rescue set, a regular Dragon Knight with the old barding from the prison gate and the same prince/noble, this set could have had not one new fig but good thing TLG changed it up so we get at least three new figs and the queen is HTF. Well that is the way I think of it. The noble as TLG calls him is actually more like the Prince than the actual Prince in the advent calender -
wow that is some nice printing, the best Batman fig IMO just got better I hope that guy was wrong because it does contradict with the preview edition and brickset info and the first time I heard that, maybe it was just an employee and not a true rep.

I don't really know myself some sort of gate or entry way for the knights I guess? a great set but a tournament pit for hand combat, feast/market area and bleachers with more peasants/farm animals I would have liked better than the gate.
