true, plus all the other sets across the world in all the stores and on the aftermarket will take awhile to officially sell out but this is the beginning of the end for the Emerald Night. I wonder what Train model is next possibly? The Maersk Train has overlapped with the Emerald Night for approximately 8 months.

If that current rate holds then the stock remaining will last for approximately 246 hours or 10 days.

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Piranha replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
some neat stuff it took me until day 3 to realize you were following the official advent calender models, before I thought it was just whatever SW models you felt like -
I also would like to mention the similarity to the Indiana Jones theme, now that also came out to coincide with the 4th film, but was still around a year or two longer to make more sets. So I think there is a chance that POTC can stay around maybe 1-2 more waves possibly, after all I heard the sets were selling very well.

Has anyone managed to mod the BNSF to Power functions? Right now this is a real problem I am struggling with. I can not find anyway to power it having the battery box on the train itself without extensive modifications.
-
I think the Maersk Train or Santa Fe Super Chief are the best ever IMO.

The cloth cape and plastic hood suit me just fine. About this whole discussion though, the census seems to be worrying that all these new details will lead to TLG changing the minifig from the classic one we know now. I would have to disagree though with that line of thinking, the minifigure is one of the things that defines TLG like the 2x4 brick or the classic LEGO logo. Those will never change because they are classic and synonymous with the entire brand. Ironically enough everyone always wants to see printed parts over the sticker sheets hence the adopted DSS acronym (Dreaded Sticker Sheet), but here we have the opposite complaining about "excessive" printing, now just imagine the minifigs were all blank and we put stickers for torso/face prints, that surely would save TLG alot of money having blank figs for every set. The argument is similar as regards system scale animals, some people don't like the new chickens or goats claiming they aren't LEGO enough. But are they less LEGO than say the cow or the horse or any other LEGO animal to begin with? Not to me as long as they all bear a resemblance (which they do) then that is fine for me. Now I do like the prints on legs and arms to be special treats like with the Cloud City Boba Fett and Imperial Inspection Stromtrooper. That is what makes it fun.

Seriously I would say the Black Pearl as it is the fastest ship in the sea.

ok I agree that Tien Numb and Shadow Stormtroopers as well as a Shadow ARF are pretty obscure characters to make. That said there is a chance TLG would do some in Jabba's Palace, I would give it a 30% chance.

There has never been a Bly minifigure

I don't like the new C-3PO one bit, wish they had done chrome

Yes Well city sets have been pretty much always out of scale with each other each time a new wave is released from classic town to town jr to city. Yes that has been a main gripe for years, I have an old police car but the new one doesn't match at all 4 wide vs 6 wide and so on. I think you are getting at TLG changing the whole proportion of the figure? I don't think they would ever do something like that because that is one of the define aspects of LEGO like the 2x4 brick and the classic logo. in the original version it has a collar while the latter doesn't but returns in the new design, I would say a collar is pretty detailed for a classic fig. The print only adds safety glow markings, a radio and undershirt. I don't see nothing more than an advancement of design not any radical changes but an improvement each generation like I mentioned earlier as with anything.

nah probably just a holiday sale and not clearance. It hasn't even been a year yet. I think once it approaches after a year or so then that is when also when TLG officially marks it clearance or sold out.

thanks for the review, I love the bear and mushroom!

How many trains run on your lego layout at a time?
Piranha replied to 12vretrofan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
just one because I mainly need more PF parts and rechargeable batteries -
those were a neat idea but poorly executed IMO GITD or an LED in the hilt would be neat though but probably won't happen.

well if we don't get it, we could always use that version of it. I also thought of something, the set could possibly contain the kraken? that would account for its pretty high piece count, ie the ship could be 1000-1500 parts leaving the rest for the Kraken? would be cool

hmmm you are right, I forgot about the sponge bob set, are there any pictures of that yet? (although I couldn't imagine a 2000 piece sponge bob set ) but the relevance of D2C being released doesn't have any bearing at all IMO, TLG releases sets when they want to. The Maersk Train came in April, Modular Buildings come whenever and Star Wars also varies with their large exclusives. I don't think a timetable is even appropriate for judging whether sets are true or not, TLG does whatever they want when they want pretty much. As well as "such and such set" is being released doesn't matter much either, again TLG can choose how and of what many large exclusives they want to produce. To tell the truth I thought POTC was dead in the water before I heard this Well I myself still doubt this I would also hope for other sets, maybe the Interceptor or Dauntless? Basing on this year we got 2 ships. Also would like to see some other sets as discussed in the best and worst idea thread.

my point isn't which is better or which is worse or who likes what, the point is the color change fragmented the figs therefore it doesn't really matter to me anymore what matches.
-
that is because most people have/will never see the Maersk Train in person period. Lets not forget it is an American Diesel, 7939 is a European train (which I like, I don't see anything wrong with it ) I guess it is all about broadening your horizons, but I am with Ralph_S on this one, the Train is great, great starter cars, great parts and many extras, worth every dollar.

there is another simple solution, call up TLG customer service say you are disappointed that the set didn't have a cape (assuming it doesn't) and ask if you can order and pay for one direct from them. They are always friendly and helpful and often have better prices than the aftermarket. Although it might count as a licensed product in that case they won't let you.

I like the new astromech droids

compatibility with figs already went down the toilet with flesh colored minifigs. Now I really don't care what matches anymore
