  1. No way will it be BB-8. I reckon it's the Death Star trench run, or maybe a lifesize brick built Vader !
  2. I agree with you 100% buddy. Makes me mad, especially when the exact same technic pieces are produced in the correct colour.
  3. ^^^ Noooooo ! sorry to hear that Chris. Would love to see some pics when of work in progress once you start the mods. It will be too easy to improve on the lego DS. I mean, even the centre turbolift has plates of different colours, that's the first thing I would fix. The stupid cargo lift is crap too. The lift plate is much smaller than the floor void in the tie hangar for a start, and when the lift is on the base floor, it floats in the air by about 4 bricks high. Just crazy ! I also completely agree with you too about the wasted space in the tie hangar. It's crying out to be put to good use.
  4. Any new updates please Chris? Your mods are exactly why I want to do if/when I buy this set. I will also be adding slope pieces to the exterior to make a more rounded sphere. I cant believe lego didn't do that themselves.
  5. It seems odd to me the Lego would release a UCS snowspeeder this year being the 40th Anniversary of A New Hope. Why don't they hold off and release it in 3 years time for the ESD 40th? But then again, lego does seem to do rather odd things at times.... I will save my hard-earned for the Falcon.
  6. What promotion? I have seen no mention of the R3-M2 astromech in the UK. Can anyone shed some light please? How can I get one?! (other than eBay :( )
  7. Guys, in the leaked image of the Vader transformation set (Reddit) there appears to be a '21-B type' medical droid, plus two other MFs. I assume those two are Palpatine and Vader, but in that case where is burnt-out Anakin? I thought the set comes with only 3 minifigs? (or maybe it's just burnt Anakin head on Darth Vader body? Not sure how the transformation will work with no Anakin torso but the mechanism itself looks exactly same as Carbon Freezing chamber. Maybe it's a 4 character set with 21-B, BBQ Anakin, Vader, and Palpatine, plus the buildable black probe droid looking-octopus thing?! I personally think the 21-B could be a plant to try and keep us guessing? !
  8. What movie was the 'Tracker 1" in ? Was it PT/OT or TFA/R1?
  9. Nice build mate, I would love to build a cloud car MOC. It's on my to-do list but I never seem to find the time ! Now for my annual 'lego hates cloud city' rant.... It's about time lego released a new version of the cloud car, in fact it is long overdue. As for cloud city itself, either in modular construction or a UCS death star sized large set, I have nearly given up all hope of Lego ever releasing anything for cloud city. I know we had the carbon freeze set, and maybe that was lego testing the market, but If no cloud city based sets are released by 2020 for the 40 year ESB anniversary, then all hope is lost......
  10. This is truly incredible !!! I never cease to be amazed by the MOCs on this lego starwars forum. Good luck with the project, I cannot wait to see this build thread through to completion and final assembly. The force is strong with you buddy. Finally, well done for graduating as a lego star wars architect/designer/engineer !
  11. Just awesome ! I love it as a tower with platforms, but oddly, less so with Tie Fighters. Superb build though, just brilliant. Just one thing, have you added any detail / greebles to the inside space? There could be some good room space in there.
  12. Wow !!! this is a fantastic moc. Congrats
  13. Incredible !!! More pics please, this is simply amazing. Love the X-wing too.
  14. Tantive 4 - PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!
  15. Outstanding work buddy !! You have really captured the moment, and in a style of build that I have not seen before. You are very gifted.
  16. I have so far built the Tie striker and the AT-ST. Both look superb but I am really impressed with the Tie Striker. Tomorrow I will be building the tank with my Son. After that, it's gonna be the U-wing or Krennics shiuttle. And after that I have the Y-wing and new A-wing to look forward to, plus I picked up the rebels A-wing/Vaders Tie for £46 on amazon recently
  17. Very nice work.
  18. Does anyone think this years UCS/ep4 special set is going to be a UCS Landspeeder?
  19. To make use of the wasted space in the rear cargo hold of the tie striker body, just bypass step 34 but still include the two 2x1 grey holey bricks. You can also possibly skip step 50 too but until I try this I don't know for sure. Step 50 seems to purely be a strengthening piece, but I could be wrong there ! P.S - Great review, and it's a great set too. I am blown away by the physical size of this craft, and I will try my own recommended mod sometime soon. I need to check also whether there needs to be an engine detail/trans orange studs etc on the rear of this thing on the black 4 stud circular plate? link to pdf instructions - http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/6179341.pdf
  20. ^^^ LOL vaderfan !!!!! I actually will buy that set though as it seems a fair price for what you get.
  21. I checked the front page of this 2017 rumours thread, but correct me if I'm wrong, I don't see any big sets to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of EP4, A New Hope. I guess something might happen on May 4th? All the prequel trilogy, CW and Freemaker crap does not count as Star Wars to me. Where are the PROPER OT sets for the summer wave?
  22. Excellent review buddy. I am now going to read your U-wing review. I have all the new Rogue one sets except battle of scarif but I have had no time to build any. The tie-striker looks superb. Kind of regretting I bought Krennics shuttle though as the review on Jangbricks has put me off slightly.......
