I find that Aragorn looks too much like Boromir, and that Gandalf could use a hairpiece and a smaller beard. The other figures look great. I further find that the armor pieces of the Uruk-hai look a bit plain. Gollum doesn't look as wicked as he looks on the poster. Not sure about the Ringwraith yet. On the one hand, I like it. On the other hand, it looks pretty human and not "wraithy" enough. Maybe this problem could be solved with a different leg piece and a different cape, but then it can't be combined with a horse. So I think sacrificing the more "wraithy" look for playability makes sense after all. The Orcs look great as well.

I agree that age is a serious problem. I'm not willing to blame George Lucas alone for it, though. Rather, I'd say that youth plays a huge role today, and that he simply would not have been able to get his films distributed if his main actors were rather old men.

Well, human and other beings with supernatural powers, be they priests or wizards or whatever, yes. I did not have a flying alien dragon in mind but insectoid and other races, but yes, that is the basic idea. That all combined with mundanes weilding laser canons.

I generally like the "Space Police" theme. The problem I have with "Space Police" and the other "classic" themes is that they are too one-dimensional and lacking some depth. So I'd like to see more factions, especially fancy aliens. Introducing a crossover (Sci Fi and Fantasy) may help as well to create a richer world.

I think it is one of the consequences to introduce OT character like R2-D2 and C-3PO into the PT. I'm not sure if script writing would have made it better; the only safe way to avoid possible inconsistencies is to edit and change the OT. I think I'll simply continue to regard the PT and the OT only as loosely connected.

I'm sorry in case I should have hurt your feelings. But this is not about "nit picking", it is simply that I don't understand what you are unhappy about. I probably would have paid EUR 500,00 for the set 2 or 3 years ago, but I didn't have the money. Today, I would not spend that amount of money on this set because I do no longer find it as awesome as I did 2 or 3 years ago. If I were to spend EUR 500,00 for 10179 I'd miss newer sets for EUR 500,00, which is something I don't want. You may have a different view on this issue. I respect this view, but I simply cannot share it. I appreciated reading your answer a lot :) My personal view is that we may lament over our mistakes and be unhappy about the situations they may result in. Remembering our unhappiness with our own decisions may help us to make better decisions in the future. If it was not his decision not to buy the set (for whatever reasons), I do not understand what there is to regret, because he made nothing wrong. I apologize if I should have roused your anger. A couple of years ago I read Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and at some point I thought that it would be pretty cool if I could fly. Now, there is a difference between thinking that "being able to fly would be pretty cool" and "lamenting about the unability to fly". The point is that due to everything we currently know about the universe we live in flying is beyond the capacity of the human body, and I'd go so far to consider this a fact of human life that is beyond our power to change. Measured by this criteria, I'd consider it to be unreasonable to lament about this fact. Oxus is unhappy since he can't afford 10179 for what he considers to be a reasonable price. He directly or indirectly locates the responsability for his situation within (a) the traders who demand high prices and (b) Lego who discontinued the production of 10179 and therefor the availability of 10179 for a reasonable price. Whatever the causes of these actors are that led to their decision, I find it equally unreasonable to lament about their decisions and the situations they led to because changing them is equally beyond one's power as flying or making the human body able to fly, and that's why I'd call it "unreasonable". Simply being unhappy with the situation that one doesn't own a set is something totally different, because this situation can be changed. But, as Oxus points out, he is not willing to pay the price. And that's why I'd say that his current situation is the result of his own decision.

Well, first, it is not just an R2 unit, but an R2 unit travelling with C-3PO, a droid that was built by Anakin himself. Second, after the Tusken incident, when Luke is about to leave with Obi Wan and R2, he remembers 3PO and says, "3PO!". So it's an R2 unit together with a golden protocol droid named "3PO". So no matter how many R2 units there were in the galaxy, this is a duo he might have remembered and recognized as the Jedi master he was. My question, though, basically was if these inconsistencies were ever "officially" adressed. With regard to my other question asked, DarthR2-D2 has made a point. It is not exactly what I had in my mind when I saw ANH when I was a child, but it probably is the best that we will have been gotten when TCW is finished.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

If I understand JackJonespaw correctly, he likes the current Han in carbonite, and he thinks that it won't be changed by Lego. However, he hopes that it will be changed, although he does not know how, in what way, it should be changed or could be improved. -
Again, I do not understand how this transformation solves the problem: If its "comparable", it is equally "desireable", "rare" and therefore equally "unreasonable expensive".

There are people who do not think that it's reasonable to pay $400, $500, $600 or whatever for a Lego toy. These people usually are not very impressed by the argument that a certain set contains 5,000 pieces. Thus, I wonder what your criteria for "reasonable" in this concrete case is, and the answer I'm tending to give is the amount of money that you own and that you are willing to spend. If you don't want to spend the money to afford the item that's fine, it is your personal decision. Lamenting about facts, however, doesn't make any sense, simply, well, because they are facts.

Well...I think it's pretty obvious that in 1977 noone, including Lucas and Guiness, thought that Kenobi might know the droids from his own past. Since 1997, Guiness' acting might be interpreted differently, e. g. that he only pretended not to know them.

Does anyone know btw precisely Obi-Wan Kenobi served Bail Organa during the Clone Wars? And was it ever clarified why he did not recognize R2-D2 and C-3PO when he faced them on Tatooine?

In the final calculation, he had 9xx Fame, if I remember correctly. Not sure if it counts. Damn. I almost had forgotten how much dying sucks :) No, I don't have any pots left, but equipment is not an issue anyway. Effectively, I only lost the Staff of Horror which I can replace by a Staff of Destruction. I got a couple of Masters, +7 Dex rings and Siphons/Essences, which is basically my original equipment. But I'm pretty annoyed that I lost all the fame. The stats. And of course the my new colour scheme! On the other hand, I learnt that hunting gods is relatively simple, especially when I found a good spot.

I'd like to see non-TCW phase II Clone Troopers. Fully printed, with printed heads and "combat dents" (like the new Sandtroopers), as described on www.starwars.com ("Their armor no longer has the pristine white sheen from the beginning of the war, but is dented, gouged and smeared with the signs of battle").

My incredible Necromancer Hasenklein died today, shortly after having maxed out Speed. He ran into a bunch of monsters that were chasing a guy who ran straightly into the opposite direction than Hasenklein did. I hit the RETURN TO NEXUS! NOW!-button, but it was too late. Poor Hasenklein ran already out of HP. I think I need a break from this game. Lesson No. #1: If you running the gods make sure the area you are playing in is basically free from others.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Is there any explicit and valid information yet whether 9515 will contain a Commander Droid (battle droid with yellow markings) or a Tactical Droid (which simply may be called a "Commander" if one doesn't know the difference)? -
I'd like to buy from a certain seller. Since in his store terms he only says that, "[He] will ship to all connected states and Canada. [He] will charge actual shipping + $0.5 handling fee.", I'd like to know the shipping costs for a certain weight. The seller, however, doesn't allow to be contacted. So my options are (a) not to order or (b) hoping that he won't charge an unreasonable amount of money. Any ideas what I should do? You should find the answer here: http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageTravel_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_000014&propertyType=document#P24_2132

We clicked on the entrance, but the game only loaded. After a while, I got a "Load Error". I disconnected and could not reconnect to the game, it always resulted in a "Load Error". So I had to delete all my cookies etc., and then it worked. The Undead dungeon seems to be much more dangerous, btw.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I partially agree on that. Currently, Lego adds leg printing to Clones and Stormtroopers if a second colour is added (Wolffe, Gree, Horn Company Trooper, Sandtroopers etc.) I did not understand, however, why leg printing wasn't added to Rex and Cody in the recent sets, and that's the part where I have to agree that an inconsistency exists. -
Fuchsia is pink :) No, I don't; I buy it from the 100 I got at the start.
-
Oh, thanks for the hint :) But he may have it if he wants it. But I wonder if I should change the colour of my clothes to Fuchsia. What do you think?

I got a golden shield in case you need it until you got a snakeskin shield.

@MB: Got a tome for you - just in case that your Priest is still alive.
