  1. This is really cool. In Germany Scrooge is called "Onkel Dagobert", Donald is Donald, Gladstone is "Gustav Gans" and then there are Tick, Trick and Track (you brought out the secret "Donaldist" in me .... hehe)
  2. Kari-gurashi no Arietti (or The Secret World of Arietty as its called in the US ....) What a nice and relaxing movie! On Bluray (as it only played in selected theaters here in Germany which basically means nowhere ..... Also it always played afternoon hours ... its animation, so its for kids )
  3. Another great set that I can't get (in Germany ...). Why is it so hard to make these nice polybags available on the old continent? I guess ordering parts is the answer ... Great review!
  4. Oh my! A comic book thread! How could I miss this? Since I read a lot of comic books lets keep it to the current series I read: Twin Spica I am also waiting for the next volume of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service All time favorites are: Watchman, Sandman (and its spinoff series like The Dreaming) but also European comics like TinTin, Asterix, Spirou, Valerian & Laureline etc. Not a big fan of Marvel and/or DC though ....
  5. I watched every single episode of Star Trek, (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and Enterprise) every movie and can even remember the Animated series Favorite Series: DS9 (Season 3 plus) Favorite Movie: First Contact Favorite Character: hard .... Garrack from DS9 maybe (I know he is just a tailor ....) Favorite Episode: Yesterday's Enterprise ( I know its not DS 9, but its simply amazing ...) They are showing the remastered episodes of TOS now on German television. I usually get hooked instantaneously when I zap to that channel.
  6. Thanks!! Like it.... even better than the chopper .... End of the year will get expensive for me
  7. What about that truck in the background? Is there a better picture? From the (blurry) box art it seems to be a creator set, but I can't remember reading about it before
  8. 1 - 3 points 14 - 1 point 21 - 1 point
  9. wow, really like it. Also a great picture! The eagle statue and the doorknobs
  10. I really hope that the book will be able to be purchased outside of the US (as an eBook/PDF I mean) Just had a look at that publishers site. At least their hardcovers are easily available in Germany. But a PDF would be so great to have on an iPad for the instructions while building :-) If its something in the direction of the Lego idea book but with actual instructions you will have my money
  11. cool review. I actually like the Jeep better than the first model. Not sure about he third. But its not my favorite (that will forever be the red sports car) But its a good parts pack, so I am getting one as soon as A....zon is carrying it in my country (and if its price is down a bit) I guess the only creator kit I am looking forward to this year is the Helicopter
  12. I mainly got it for the parts. I also agree that the B-Model is kind of underwhelming compared to the 8259 Mini Bulldozer. There is another thread already with some "C-Models" that look much more interesting .... But in the end its a source for the new turntable and some more thread links (Threads!!! ) Cool review! Thanks
  13. nice review. Good pictures! And the set is just to cool (cute?) to be missed ... Need to get one ASAP Looks even more likeable than the Mini Bulldozer
  14. don't think I can make up 16 figures, but it would be interesting to have a pair of figures, male/female wearing traditional bavarian garb Maybe with a beer stein as accessory Also nice some Star Trek characters. A Klingon, a Vulcan and a guy wearing a red shirt ;-) And I want a Gorn !!!!
  15. very nice! Macross rules!
  16. That review just made my day! Thanks so much for it. Might need to get this set .....

  19. the snail is genius! I also like the mocs based on the buggy, especially the plane. I have that set, too, but so far I had no idea for a moc, especially one that is not a car
  20. That Coyote is awesome! We need a Roadrunner now made from any blueish set ;-)
  21. I bet the monster gets a well deserved snack ;-) What a great review! Especially the details from inside the ship! Excellent camera work
  22. Was visiting some friends here in Portland, OR this weekend. We went to Bricks & Minifigs which is a chain of three stores in the Portland area selling used Lego. I was at the store in Beaverton. Its a nice little store with a good selection of used Lego. They have lots of Minifigs there, also they are selling Brickarms. Its a mix of new and used sets. They also have a large bin with bricks that you can get in cups, just like PAB. But the selection is much better. Its worth checking their web page or send email in case you are looking for something specific. Prices are fair, also there is no sales tax in Oregon Here the link to their website: www.bricksandminifigs.com I enjoyed shopping there a lot and probably would have bought a lot more. Unfortunately my suitcase was already full with other stuff (who came up with that silly rule that bags checked in at airports need to be below 23 kg???????)
  23. >Ferrari is cool, of course, but not everything needs to be a Ferrari. I mean what's wrong with Toyota I am from Germany and when I was a kid 90% of the yellow cars on the road belonged to the German Postal Service :) I agree that there are too many red sets. But its supposed to be a convertible/racing car and for that red is just better. I could go for blue or even racing green ..... but yellow? Toyota once had a coupe car called MR2. They were usually red if I remember correctly.
  24. I like the Race Car best. But I don't really like the colors here. In my opinion it should be red .... Red convertible, red racing car (aka Ferrari ...) Not sure if I will buy one, but since I really like Creator sets I might when the price comes down a bit Excellent review!
